Unfortunately my partner and I didn't meet the correct requirements for the apartment, and we asked Skye if the landlord would be willing to negotiate, given that's what I've done with apartments in the past and it is a common thing outside of NYC. Skye refused to negotiate with the landlord or even make it seem as if they were trying to speak on our behalf. In the end, I'm assuming she lied just to get us off her case. We haven't heard from her since. I understand realtors can only do so much, but this isn't only about getting an apartment, it's about people finding a place to LIVE or else they will be homeless. My partner and I were willing to pay extra and provide documents that we were responsible tenants. They really put us in a bind, and besides their jobs, they need to have a bit more compassion for people's circumstances.
