Pool won't be heated this summer! What a bummer. I have been told in the past that they heat the pool memorial day weekend. We have gone multiple times and now was told that they likely wont heat it this summer. My toddler left with blue lips... kids are all huddled up at the hot tube and its too cold for parents to go in with their kids. Membership was raised and at this point if we can't swim for the summer as a family its likely we will be looking into other family gyms such as Lifetime or Villa sport.... Hopefully the management will change their minds- its clearly a cost issue, but in the long run may make things worse if more families choose to cancel their memberships. On the gym side of things I find the gym equipment and track nice but locker room hot tubs and showers can really use more attention - as they are rather dirty. Very disappointing gym. Every time you walk in something is closed or broken and you don't get any reimbursement for that. The parking lot has been closed multiple time. The hot tub was closed basically all winter. THE LOCKER ROOMS. Everyday it is something new whether it being too humid to even be in there, the lockers do not work half of them are broken locks, hot tub is always closed, showers are pretty disgusting, and the whole locker room just being closed for the day is insane. The cafe never really sticks to its hours. Half of the gym is a day care. Equipment is way too close together. There is ONLY ONE SHOULDER MACHINE. I could really go on and on. Paying for the second most expensive gym in the entire area #1 being lifetime which I can actually get behind. I am truly disappointed. Please fix your prices are upgrade the gym because they do not add up. read more

This is a daycare/children's playhouse with some outdated gym equipment, moldy track, and some medicore classes. As a parent I fully appreciate the catering to kids AND I wonder if there's a way to do this so kids don't take over the entire gym. This takeover is both physically with the kids being everywhere and also the overall atmosphere. For example, if you eat at the bistro you will hear preschool staff openly talk about children and sharing private information. Don't they have an office to discuss sensitive matters or conduct their new staff training? If I was the parent of any of the kids they are discussing I would be horrified. This is a small community, privacy with child matters should be taken seriously. I have used their drop off daycare (separate from their preschool) and we found the staff to be severely under trained. We are beginning to look at all our options in the area and there are many, so if you are on the fence about joining do know this gym is not what it used to be and therefore shopping around to others is recommended. read more

What a nice family gym. They got a Indoor/outdoor pool. One full basket ball court/steam room/Indoor jacuzzi,carsio,weight room and many more. The gym is so clean and was very happy with my visit. The staff is also very cool. read more

Excellent value especially for families. It's not the biggest or fanciest but it's the best value in the area by far. 1. You feel welcome and you belong. 2. There is always someone free and happy to help. 3. The kids programs are abundant, appealing, and easy to get into ( never a wait to drop off for childcare and activities ) 4. I happen to love Raellyne's kickboxing class and I don't know any other clubs that offer one. 5. Swim lessons are more affordable than other places and you get a spot right away. - Sam had our son floating and getting his face under on the first lesson and swimming after the third lesson. 6. There are always towels and there are people cleaning and maintaining constantly. Negatives: The facility is smaller than others and could use some updates in the lockers and water facilities. (But they are doing some reno now so maybe they'll get to that.) read more

They have not opened their spa yet, which is curious since Washington county is allowing spas to open and they have a good area to socially distance. read more

The club is decent enough as an athletic club. However, once we tried to cancel, what an ordeal. We left four messages for the membership director, Conrad, beginning in the first week of April, to cancel our membership. Each time, the woman at the front desk told us they would cancel our membership and also pass a note to Conrad. Come May, we find a charge on our credit card, and continue to try to call about this issue. Today, we finally got hold of Conrad, who told us "no one gave me any messages. I have no proof that you tried to cancel. I have no power to retroactively credit you." What a bunch of BS. Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. read more

I've been a member since day 1. I've been through all the ups and downs. And I am so grateful Roy Kim took this club back. And has spent so much time, energy, and vision to restore it to the Gem we all remember. All new equipment. Great healthy food at the Bistro. AMAZING trainers! Love this place, it feels like home, thanks to the friendly and professional staff we enjoy it every time we are there. The kids central is great, safe and fun place to leave your kids and the staff is amazing, my kids love to go there, specially the night outs. The fitness staff are very professional and friendly you can approach them with any questions or concerns and they always have the answer. The bistro has great menu and bar and very cozy home feeling seating area. They have a variety of classes and activities for adults kids, and lately they added some evening family friendly events that we've been enjoying very much. keep up the great work read more

I can't tell you how many times I have thought to myself "Why the hell am I a member at this place?" The short answer is that it is close to home and seemingly cheap. Im not too sure about the cheap part because on a "cost to availability of activity" basis this place is a sure looser. You see, there is a pool that you can use.... if you come at the right time..... There's also a basketball court you can use... again, if you come the right time. There used to be 2 racquetball courts, until they turned one into a yoga studio and the other into a monkey bar gym.... both of which sit unused pretty much always. This place does have a cafe!..... Not that anyone would want to use a gym cafe but it is never open so no worries there. They try to monetize every available space in the gym. The problem is that BAC is small in the first place. Once you reserve most of the gym for pay activities, there is simply not enough room for everyone else. Sometimes there is nothing for a family to do at this place but run in circles on the track. -Give the racquetball courts back -Take out a lane border in the pool and make a double lane that is always open swim. (like every other pool on the face of the earth) -Don't lock up the whole bball court during prime family time.(5-9) -Focus more on continuity and the quality of the available facilites and stop constantly changing things to squeeze more out of your members. read more

I used to be a member. Left as work provides me a gym now. The facilities used to be really bad but honestly it is better now than it used to be. Before the showers didn't even have hot water. Now I would say it isn't terrible. The reason I'm writing this review is because after having paid over five thousand dollars in membership over six years, i brought my dad in (who is still a member) to walk him in the gym. I wasn't going to do anything but to hold him up as he is disabled. Not use any facility, just hold a disabled man up as he is walking. After six years and countless referrals from the Chinese community they still demanded I pay the ten dollar day fee just to walk him, not even use the facility. Not a matter of the money but one of the principle of not feeling screwed. In summary, facilities aren't terrible. I'd say if you want a friendlier atmosphere and with better facilities, go to Sunset or somewhere else. It's a very transactional relationship at Bethany and they will screw you over the first opportunity they get. Maybe it's business but I would heavily avoid. It's like trying to make friends with someone who will screw you over; not worth it. read more

This is my personal rent-a-treadmill, and I only go here because I'm not the one footing the membership bill. It's ridiculously pricey, the classes are mediocre, the management is absolutely (for lack of a better term) anal -- and I mean about EVERYTHING --, the equipment and facilities feel poorly planned out and just thrown wherever they'll fit, etc. There's literally nothing I would want to come here for, with the one exception of the treadmill. The treadmills they offer here are the nice kind with a built in iPad so I can watch lectures while getting my exercise, and (unlike in the rest of the gym) nobody from management comes over to bother me. Also, there's a squirtle in the parking lot, so that's a plus. read more

I have been a member for about 1 1/2 years. I really enjoy the club. Staff are very pleasant and greet you nicely when you walk in ( AJ rocks!). The facilities are clean, locker rooms are clean and well maintained. Earlier in my membership they had a bit of trouble with pool and jacuzzi issues but that seems to have been corrected. My one criticism would be the pool lane schedule and how it coordinates with pool classes and swim team training. Seems every day is different and always trying to figure out what lane I can use. Not a terrible inconvenience but could be a bit smoother. read more

My friend won a lawsuit for discrimination as an employee from this place some time ago. The staff here has always been disrespectful to me and my family tho we had been members for over a decade. They allow out of control children to run all over the place. Bethany athletic club is horribly designed improperly managed and is a sorry excuse for a club that cares for customer service at all. All they want is your top $$$ providing the least bit of effort as possible. read more

Staff is friendly, instructors are friendly, membership team is not customer friendly. After freezing my membership because of the mask requirement, I was charged a "pro-rated" extra $25 for the last 2 days of September for a misunderstanding of wanting to unfreeze for the next month. I had asked this on the phone, then forgot to put in an email in writing that I wanted to undo the prolonged freeze on the account effective October 1. This was a great club before COVID, staff is still nice, but I question whether the membership team will be able to keep the club afloat. read more

We love BAC! It's been a great club for our entire family. Our young kids love the Kids Club! Laura, Anna and the rest of the staff are great with them! We've done a few half day camps and Coach Jackie has a fun, bubbly personality and is so good with the kids. We also enjoy getting food from the bistro. Do not recommend this club. I want to give them 0 star.. 1. I am a member since 2014. After owner was changed in 2016, they switched their equipment into very stupid machines requiring adding/removing weights manually. E.g. if you want 70lbs in the equipment, you need to hang 2x25lbs + 2x10lbs weights. If somebody used machine with 150lbs prior to you, you should remove them one by one, then hang weights you want one by one. No one like equipment.... 2. They do not fix their facilities well. Elevator has been out of order for last two weeks. Many of their shower hangers were broken without fixing for a long time. Shower gel labels were easily peeled off so that people cannot recognize which one is shampoo and body cleanser. 3. My kid is in swimming team. Coaches did not allow kids go to women's shower room after swimming class since they think kids can make noise in the shower room. They rudely forced 15 kids to shower only in two family shower rooms. Some of the shower hangers in the family shower rooms were still broken so parents should hold the shower hose for their children.. 4. Many good staffs were left since 2016. Good swimming coaches were left. Great class instructor was left. I know some of them left because of their personal reasons. But some of them left because of the trouble with management. The quality of classes were significantly getting worse.. 5. Courts were shut down since 2016. No more racquet ball.. After owner was changed, membership fee was suddenly increased about 40%. I expected the quality probably would be better than before, but it is actually much worse than before. read more

They got the feed back on the issue of not having any cardio class in the morning in place of Sierra who left, but they won't do anything about it. ( I'm writing about Tuesday and Thursday insanity class at 9:30- useless ). They told me that people like the class but there are only like two people attending! I spoke to some other people and yes, people are disappointed, so at least don't make up stories that people are happy with this class.... the instructor is not into it at all but very much into attending other classes lol The tues-Thursday insanity is a slow silly class with no equipment and the instructor finishes early to go to yoga class that is already overcrowded. The only good cardio class left that's available during the week 9-1 is Michelle's, but that's not enough! The great thing about the club is Stella and her wonderful bistro with fresh tasty food and great service. Kids club is very nice also with friendly stuff, Anna is wonderful and the kids love her. read more

It took us few year to sign up to be members. We are so glad that we did! BAC is my kids second home now. The receptionists are great and friendly, Ashley Destin And Matt are always there to listen and do anything to improve our experience. The coach's are the best thanks to Melanie and swimming teachers are great! Showers are clean and towels available all the time. The Bistro with Maestro Lindsey is a vital area and its always joy to tast her new creations... I cannot skip Jeckie the amazing basketball coach that has so much energy to teach the kids and find more and more classes on schedule... Last, Kids Central... what will I do without them....My doughter runs to get there and I get my free hours sometimes just to relax and drink the great free coffee or tea or spoil myself with my favorare delicious meals at the bistro We had few memberships in other places before. We never used non of them like this one. Childcare before had noisy DVD'S and the kids were passive. Not at BAC...The secret to use membership is to find neighborhood club that has activities for all the family. BAC is the best for us. It doesn't need to be perfect or fancy, but joyful and safe, welcoming and great for kids. If a person want to look on unimportant issues thats sad cause he misses the big experience. I've been a member for many years and the customer service has always sucked at the Bethany Athletic Club, and continues to suck with new ownership (because some of the same people still work there). There are some people who work there who are awesome, but then you have some who leave me scratching my head how they have a job. Most recent event: I have a family plan. My son is active duty military and he comes home for 2 week leave. Staying in shape is part of his job and it's important. I think let's get him a one-month membership, or add him to my family membership, or even pay each time he visits. I first stop by and am told that nobody in member services is there, so I call later that day. I speak with Currin (not sure of spelling) in member services. This guy proceeded to explain every reason why he can't help me, unless of course I want to give up my "grandfathered" monthly rate. I'm even willing to pay the $10 visitor fee, but I can't do that because I have to be present when he visits and I will be out of town. Then he gives me a line of BS about how they used to allow short term memberships or changes to accounts like I'm requesting, and the members got unhappy with the gym being clogged with users. Really? Aren't you in the business of selling memberships so more people can join? I'm pretty sure I waited on hold for 10 minutes because you were signing up a new member. I don't know if it's laziness, incompetence, or power tripping, but whatever it is, it sucks. If there was another decent option for a gym, I would cancel in a heartbeat ... but there aren't any good alternatives so I'll just endure dealing with these people. read more

I've tried many salon in Portland and Beaverton and was not happy with facials, My close friend recommended me here and I tried, was very satisfied with Elena who gave me an amazing facials for 60 min ( maybe more than 60 min.) She was wonderful and professional! I'll definitely see her on a regular basis! Great spa experience ! This spa is very clean, quite and friendly. It's hidden treasure in NW Portland/Beaverton. BAC is excellent in all aspects - facilities including a sauna. steam room, and jacuzzi, equipment including free weights,machines and indoor track, times, access, friendly staff, many many classes covering various aspects and levels of fitness and trainers. Great place to use as a family. We love being members here. They have been steadily improving the facility.

It's clean, the staff are friendly, and they have every service you would ever want. I really enjoyed my session with the private trainer.

All the equipment changed. It is terrible right now.... Not sure why they did this, but I will be out of there in a couple weeks. No more racquetball, the old (good) weight machines are gone. Terrible!!! One of the worst things it that one of my friends there, told me that they are doing this, so people have to pay personal trainers to learn how to use the freaking things. read more

I have been a member for a little over a year and I love this place! The staff is very friendly and personable. Many of them greet me with huge smiles if not by name. I think its super family friendly with lots of activities for the kids to do. My 3 year old actually looks forward to the kids care (which is a first for any place). I feel like the staff goes out of their way to make a great experience for them. I attend the gym several times a week and use the weight room, pool and other facilities. They are usually in great condition and clean. Sometimes the weight area I use gets cramped, but I think in order to accommodate the huge diversity of workout equipment they offer, they have fit a lot in. And I love having that beautiful track! read more
