What an awesome gym! They have a great set up here, wish I lived closer. My buddy invited me to work out with him as a guest, and long story short... I didn't want to stop working out just that I can stay and enjoy the amenities. They have a clean gym with a smoothie bar, sauna, tanning beds, nice weights, great selection on tunes that sounds awesome throughout the building, HDTV's, and holy crap a theater room that you can watch a movie and get some cardio in. Pretty loaded with weights and machines, cardio. Business hours not early or late enough. Gym and lockerrooms clean. They provide bottles of cleaner and cloths to wipe down machines after use. Id go back. read more

Really enjoyed working out here while we were in town. It's set up for casual lifters, or serious lifters, with very little intimidation factor. Lots of Squat racks, a deadlift platform, and benches, with a ton of cardio equipment, and lifting machines, Precor et al. The owner, Travis is a very sweet, and knowledgeable guy, who is easy to talk to. If you are looking to get strong (honestly, the primary reason to go to a gym), He has a lot of knowledge. If I lived here, I'd go here. Also, I don't do cardio at a gym, but if I did, the big movie theater room, would be a cool place to do it! read more

This gym is clean, the staff and owners are GREAT, and it's in a good location. Many people in town had doubts about this as they had been burned by the previous gym in this same location but these people have totally squashed those fears! I would highly recommend this gym to anyone in Forest Grove. read more

PROS: Small gym but definitely a good place. The pricing is okay for what you get. CONS: when it's rush hourly feels pretty cramped. We liked the sweat class but the room was too small for the number of people in the class and so we ended up having to do circuits in the hallway, so we just stick with the machines. The last three times we've gone to the gym several machines are down so we try and go when it's off times so we can have our pick. read more

I would have loved to give a better rating, but I just can't. No one shows you how to use the equipment when you first join. Evidently you're supposed to inherently come with that knowledge. I noticed I wasn't the only one being left to figure it out for myself when, after going for several months, an elderly woman asked me as I was passing by if I could show her how to use one of the machines. The staff is never around when you need something. NEVER. The prices are WAY higher than competitors who offer far more than this gym. It's an incredibly unfriendly atmosphere. Watch out for the lunk factor. It's thick here. Not a lot of classes offered. Not a lot of support. And if you move out of state after going for two years, they don't like it when you cancel your membership and inform you that they are still going to charge you for several more months, even though the contract ended over a year ago, because they "can't interrupt the billing cycle". That was my last straw. Good riddance. read more

ONE STAR!!!! Poor facility and poor staffing. Would not recommend to others. Advertises 24hour access but only if your card manages to work, which it hardly EVER does! Pretty lame gym. Lockers are filthy. Signed up because it was close and I liked the movie room concept. Little did I know that they only play old ass movies from the 80s and they recycle them over and over. On weekends the same movie will play the entire weekend. As if they are too cheap to get a 1 dollar current movie from redbox. The owners are greedy. The patrons who use the weight room are extremely rude. They just drop all the heavy weights down and if your close, the loud sound is enough to hurt your ears. The front desk staff pretty rude. Idk where they get these people from. The homeless population of forest grove? I'm trapped for a year now. Stay far away. It's a waste of 28 a month when planet fitness is far better for 10 a month. read more

My cousin got me a pass here for a week. Its not that big compared to 24 hour fitness or anything but its clean. Although they have limited machines and some are a bit outdated, I still like it cause people are not rude or stay on the machine while taking selfies instead of working out. Its peaceful and can get all my workout. Its really organized. If i lived here permanently, ill probably cancel my 24hour membership and transfer to this gym read more

If i could put 0 stars i would, this place lures you in, and charges your credit card once a month. Thats fine, but when you cancel your membership they continue to charge you. When you call and try to resolve it they conveniently "lost" the cancellation papers and try to make a deal with you to pay a little less, even though you havn't gone back since the cancellation. Then they send you to collections. They are the most crooked business I've ever seen. read more

My husband and I excitedly signed up for this gym before it even officially opened in the summer of 2014. Being less than a five minute walk from our home, this seemed like a great opportunity for us to improve our health and fitness levels. For the size of the facility, which is sandwiched between a Pizza Hut and a Mexican restaurant, they seemingly enrolled far too many people. Classes were crammed full of people, during peak hours it was difficult to get access to any of the machines and the customer service was basically non-existent. Not to mention the fact that none of the equipment appeared to be new and machines were often out of order. When Planet Fitness opened a facility 15 minutes away for $20/month in 2015, it was an easy choice to switch. Fast forward to a year later, we decided a couple days ago to see if things had improved at 1440. The pricing is fantastic at Planet Fitness, but for convenience, 1440 would be ideal. For the fact that the facility hasn't done much for improvements (the only one that's clearly advertised on their Facebook site is a "cardio theater"), their prices are outlandish and as said in other reviews, can't really be found anywhere, both on the website and their Facebook. I inquired today on their Facebook and was told of their options. Brace yourselves. If you choose a one year commitment, you will pay $28.80/month. If you want to add someone else to the account (for example, my husband) it would be an additional $14.40/month. If you would like to be free of those pesky contracts, you will have to pay an additional $10/month. They also charge a $40 enrollment fee. And when I asked if that meant they no longer had an annual fee, I was told that they do not. However, I was then told that they have an "enhancement fee" of $20 that comes out twice a year, once in July and once in November, for "improvements to the gym equipment". Basically, if you want to be contract-free, you will pay an average of $45/month just for yourself. If you opt for getting suckered into a year contract, you'll still play $35/month for you. If you add family members you're looking at anywhere between $50-$60/month or more. For the size and quality of the facility and equipment, this is beyond ridiculous. Oh, and the gym deleted the thread when I said thank you but no thank you and cited the cost to be too much. Imagine that! Needless to say, we have decided to stick with Planet Fitness. For $20/month we get 24 hour access, I can simply bring him with me to the gym versus paying extra, and I get unlimited access to massage beds, tanning beds and what they refer to as "beauty enhancement" machines as well as discounts on drinks and access to personal training. They charge a $40 annual fee, which averages out to about $23.50/month. And their customer service is outstanding. I find it very unfortunate that places like 1440 take advantage of small towns like Forest Grove, where there aren't many options for gym access. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Well, maybe an enemy. read more
