Update to original below: I called and left 3 voicemails this week and no one returned my call. I…read moresent an email today requesting a returned call and finally received one. The person who called me (Melissa) told me that they're only open Tuesdays and Thursdays now. I said that explains why no one was calling me back, but they should probably add that to their communications they send as I received an increase email and it said call with questions. She said she regularly checks the email but as far as the voicemails clients are leaving while they're closed, she's "not doing all that." We are done this place and moving out. If you rent here, your rent will be increased every 90 days anywhere from $20-$50 more! Try public storage instead where it's only increased annually with 90 days notice of the increase amount If you've ever rented a storage unit before, you know they all increase the rates from what you pay initially. I had one a few years ago that increased rent annually. The contract of course says they can increase, it's to be expected. With that being said, my rental amount has increased 125% in 14 months. This most recent increase is the 4th or 5th increase in that timeframe. The last increase was 3 months ago. I called to see if it was a mistake considering how many times it had already increased. I was told at that time that I was now at the "usual price" for my size unit and therefore shouldn't see another increase for a while. Now 3 months later it's being increased again an additional $40/month. I called to get more information and left voicemails that haven't been returned. I am now paying more for a 5x5 unit than the current advertised price of a 10x15 unit. It just seems excessive and the misinformation and unreturned calls is frustrating.

9/9/22, Here's a new company, out of New Jersey called, Drive-up Storage, that bought out ( this…read moreyelp site keeps inserting some name, Suit-Janet, in this space) Safe & Affordable Self Storage, and took over their accounts at 1257 New Haven Road Naugatuck CT 06770. Their introduction letter to me email didn't mention Safe & Affordable so it went into spam and I never opened it. I spoke to a woman yesterday about the auto pay account needed to be reset; she sent a poorly drafted contract, with very few stipulations. I started getting robo calls two days ago and today's robo call says don't let it go to collections. I feel it's a little heavy handed. I don't know this company. They have no reviews. We've been loyal, paying on time for like 5 years. It's not even cordial. The woman just works for a company, she's like just the facts. So I'll update this as it goes with them. One wonders why an out of state company picks up this small business. I gave three stars out of courtesy. Let's see if they even earn that.

Would give it ZERO stars if I could. Steve, the so called property manager is rude, and has the…read moreworst attitude. He has an I don't care attitude. I've been renting a storage unit for a year and a half and the rent has gone up $50 every 6 months. I'm paying $250 a month for a shitty storage space. I discovered there's a leak in my storage space today, and when I went to notify Steve, he looked up my account, and told me that since I opted out of their insurance, they are not responsible for any damages. There was never an offer to remedy the situation, I had to ask about moving to another storage space, no attempt to even look at what was going on. Nothing!! I have soaking wet boxes and moldy items inside the boxes. It's a large unit with a lot of stuff in it, that I cannot even get to everything right now to see the full extent of damage, never mind move everything on my own, but me asking for a new unit and assistance to move the stuff, was "completely unreasonable" per Steve. While there today, I removed some of the wet boxes and moldy items like towels and bedding. Not very much stuff at this point, I had it piled outside of the unit, and had gone back to the office to get a name and number for the district manager and Steve wanted to know what I was doing with the pile of trash. When I asked about getting the dumpster unlocked so I could dispose of it, he refused to unlock it. Told me I had to remove it, or they would hire a vendor to do it and would charge me a cleaning fee. Mind you, this is due to their negligence, their leak in their storage space. I recorded that conversation. Wish I'd been smart enough to record the initial conversation as well. To put it simply, Steve does not understand the concept of customer service, customer satisfaction, and the fact that he's a manager of any kind, is astonishing. I used the word shitty in describing his storage and was continually getting accused of cursing at him, he kept telling me I needed to calm down, when I was completely calm when our conversation began. Was I upset, of course I was. But I was calm, I wasn't raising my voice. I was told I had an attitude. Be couldn't apparently comprehend why I would be upset, and said I shouldn't be, as he wasn't. I'm not sore what he was getting at there, to be honest. I mean it was clear he wasn't upset. He clearly didn't not care at all. When I walked out of the office that first time, he opened up his window to yell out that I was the "the worst woman he's ever met" and I don't even know what else he said after that, at which point, I'd had enough of him and his incompetence, and non caring attitude, and yes I did curse at him at that point, and no, I don't regret it, and yes, he did absolutely deserve it. DO NOT RENT SPACE HERE, YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE SHIT, YOUR BELONGINGS WILL BE RUINED, AND YOU WILL OVERPAY, AND BE TOLD BY STEVE THAT HE HAS NO CONTROL OVER THE PRICE, WHICH IS ALSO BULLSHIT!! I rented from Public Storage in NC, and the very nice Property manager did adjust my price for me.
