I had a 10:00 AM reservation, but when I arrived there were already several people waiting in line. Unfortunately, there was only one clerk working, and that employee spent over 45 minutes helping a single customer while the rest of us just stood there waiting. To make matters worse, the general manager wasn't present, and there were no additional clerks scheduled--which is surprising for a Saturday, typically one of the busiest moving days of the week. Reservations are supposed to make the process quicker, but in this case it didn't seem to matter at all. Better staffing and management presence would go a long way toward improving the customer experience. read more

I had to wait an extra hour because of a no call no show - relying on one employee to open up a business where a lot of times customers have time commitments to keep to is not a good idea. The number listed on the door as a contact went to a former employee's cell phone. How is there no number to call when you need assistance that is linked to the company officially? Also when I used the chat feature on the app, the customer service agent ended the chat because I had not finished typing my reply within 3 minutes. Uhaul Moving and storage in Naugatuck is now on Cross Street where the old A&P used to be. There is plenty of parking for the rentals, and there is plenty of parking for your car until you come back. I met Jessica, the owner and she was very helpful in getting me through all the paperwork. There are plenty of supplies in case you need bungee cords, quilts to protect your appliances, boxes, tape, and hand trucks. The van I needed was clean. The total cost of my rental was $105 and $5 dollars for gas. I drove 119 miles from start to finish. So I figure with soup to nuts it cost $1 a mile which had with it full insurance coverage. I can't complain. The owner was really nice. The worker who took back the van, was fast and efficient. I was on my way back home in 5 minutes. They sent my confirmations and final bill to my email. It's local, but always short of moving supplies. Every time I needed something they were out, and had to call Bank Street for more supplies. And then you get the total attitude along with that. Uncaring, belligerent, rude. So although I am a mile away I now drive 6 miles to Bank Street, where there is plenty of stock and very courteous people. read more

The Naugatuck location is definitely the place you want to go!! The place is clean and organized and most importantly The ENTIRE staff was amazing, Jacob helped us and Made it go so smoothly , he was kind, helpful and really knows every aspect of his job and it shows! The other employees also greeted us and treated us with respect and kindness!!The facility was very clean the trucks were clean , and when I stopped in to get something from my storage unit and use the bathroom I honestly have never seen the entire property looks so good and clean! I was dreading having to pick up a truck because my previous experience at another U-Haul was a nightmare. The Naugatuck U-Haul was very quick, the staff was excellent, plenty of parking and the process was seamless. Can't beat the deal of renting a truck and getting your first month free on storage. Even if they are out of the way, I strongly suggest you take the few extra minute ride. read more
