Most recently I dashed out while my mom watched my 8 month old to get a hostess gift for our family friend. I was greeted as soon as I entered by perhaps the owner (a friendly blonde woman). I told her I was looking for specific gifts (cocktail napkins, coasters, and a candle) and she showed me where said merchandise was located in each of the rooms. The store is cozy and inviting, as the name suggests, and is full of beach themed goods for home. It's a great spot for picking out a quick hostess gift, or a clever birthday gift (think cute wooden signs, pillows, cheese boards etc). The store isn't cluttered though it is full of options. I found some beach chair coasters (heavy and substantive), and a lovely candle that had an orange vanilla fragrance and helped feed a hungry child in South America with its purchase. I tried to use my Target card but stupidly didn't realize that it only works at Target.com or in Target stores (I don't have the master card that works everywhere). Oops. I only brought an AMEX but she kindly let me use that. I would have had to go back to our beach house and get my other card. I will be back next time I am in town looking for a gift. Friendly service and an inviting shopping atmosphere are a plus!

It is packed with fabulous unique items related to the beach, music, travel, and other life's pleasures. There are gifts and prints that fit every price point and most of them are one-of-a-kind. I visited this area numerous times during the summer and, besides adding to my Beach Town Posters collection, never failed to find thoughtful host gifts or souvenirs here. The store ambience is welcoming and fun, always with great music playing. The staff is really helpful and lovely.

Better yet, the store is well-organized and the prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the prime location (not to mention the exorbitant rent!) My son left with a Melissa & Doug airport truck, luggage carrier, and airplane, a Blue Angels replica plane, a die-cast metal airplane, and a few plastic beach toys. We always make a pit stop whether we need an extra beach read or not... and useless end up with a new book for our personal collection. With a curated collection of the top rated Fiction and Non-Fiction Best Sellers constantly updated and shelved in order, staff picks marked with detailed notes on every area, and categories curated for every reader to find their genre. I love to peruse their World History, Religion, and Non-Fiction sections... my preferred beach read is an Erik Larson book or a nice leadership selection! Bethany Beach Books also constantly has renowned authors come in to the bookstore for signings. You can see the full season of authors decorating the ceiling. For our week trip, they had a different author everyday! The value is right on top. Not significantly marked up and honestly.. remember that you are paying for the curation too! Every sale is topped off with a complementary bookmark... and these are collector items with cute Bethany Beach graphics each season. Support your local book store!

The bookstore is crowded like it's filled to the brim with books so much so that there are piles on the floor. It was pretty organized! There was something pretty niche my fiancé was looking for that they didn't have but otherwise I feel like they had a good selection! They had quite a few workers and there was never a long line! I also liked that they gave out bookmarks with the purchase! There was an author outside signing her book so I ended up picking that up! They did have a lot of cool gifting stuff and I also picked up postcards here as there really wasn't a souvenir style shop that had actual Bethany merch. Couldn't have been farther from the truth.. I had dental surgery on the day he wrote down so he was wrong! After a brisk discussion he told "to Get the FUCK out of HIS STORE"! I finally had a chance to go to Inland Bays, and was so happy that I did. They were having a special event--with info about pertinent gardening topics, and I signed up for a great sea glass Art class with the C Sisters. This center has great plant options, a wonderful gift shop, a variety of monthly art classes (including a series for younger children) and even leads field trips. I will definitely sign up for the private tour of the Delaware Botanic Gardens that they lead. The staff is friendly and helpful, too. Definitely check out this lovely garden center!!
