So I go on Google to leave my review for the Hollywood Motel in Farmingdale, and the FIRST thing that pops up is this news article saying TWO MEN WERE FOUND UNALIVE IN THE JACUZZI. HUH?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! That's the SAME room we stayed in! We were literally sitting in that nasty old crusty jacuzzi like it was nothing. It wasn't even remodeled or replaced. So you're telling me two people died in that tub, they bodies were found soaking in there, and y'all just cleaned it up and rented the room back out like nothing ever happened? Ain't no way. I don't even care if they bleached that thing a thousand times. The thought alone got me sick to my stomach. I'm sitting here replaying it in my head and getting goosebumps. I would've NEVER gotten in that jacuzzi if I knew what happened in that room. Isn't there some kind of law where you gotta tell people somebody died in the room? Or at least remodel the place or rip that old jacuzzi out! Instead it's the same busted, ancient tub looking like it's been there since the '80s. I'm dead serious... I don't think I'm sleeping for a month after finding this out. This whole place creeped me out before I knew the story, and now it all makes sense. Never again. Room was tastefully decorated, very clean, and comfortable. The two aspects that were annoying were: 1) no ice on our floor. We always had to go one floor below to get ice; and 2) the TV was not user-friendly. There was no visual "guide," so we never knew what was airing at any time. Plus there were no premium stations and even very little regular cable stations. It felt like we were in some remote area where they couldn't get any station coverage. Otherwise, it was fine. I would probably stay here again unless we could find a better room rate elsewhere.

Hotel suite on PH level had a jacuzzi, terrace, living room space, and bedroom with extremely soft linens. Cost was $350 a night which is what we'd pay for an ordinary room nearby. Easy parking, great coffee, very friendly staff and when we needed to extend checkout a few hours the cost was shockingly low, they were very accommodating. Didn't try room service but no problems ordering Uber Eats to the hotel. They also have an option of placing chocolate covered strawberries, rose petals and champagne in the room for $75. Regardless of occasion, choice this option! Primo will definitely stay here again if life brings us back to the neighborhood.

There was also a dead cockroach in the toilet. There were wires out near the window with wire caps and tape which could definitely be a problem for anyone traveling with children. I also did find several alive cockroaches under the fridge and on the window. All in all, I could not recommend this place. It's overpriced and pretty poor quality. The travel websites may make the hotel seem fairly good, but honestly this is not a good hotel and not worth the money.

I did mention that they should have called the front desk as I am sure they would have been given the sheets. AC in the rooms worked too well. At around 2am I was so cold I tried to turn the thermostat down but couldn't figure it out and wound up shutting it off. I found out the next day that you needed to hold the temp button down for five seconds to engage the change. This is the first place where I have ever seen a "Pet in the Room" sign. I had to laugh at that. They have a nice small gym and a pool so you can enjoy those. Morning breakfast buffet was nice. Although they needed to be a little more attentive as the plates ran out as well as the scrambled eggs. Saw they had oatmeal raisin cookies but they were super hard. Like hockey pucks. We were there for a wedding and had gotten to the hotel around 8am to the brides room. The rest of the bridal party went downstairs to check in, because the link sent to our email to check in early was not working for us (it worked for others just not us for some reason). Check in was at 3 but as we had all gotten emails to check in early and couldn't, we went downstairs to check in. We understood that our room would not be ready until 3 but just wanted to pre check in as I've done MANY times before at other hotels. When we went down to the front desk to request this, the young woman working the desk was EXTREMELY rude WITH an attitude telling us that we aren't able to check in because they didn't have rooms yet. I explained that we dont need a room yet but that we got emails to check in early and it didn't work for us and we weren't going to be back until 1am. She responded again rudely telling us we can't check in with an annoyed facial expression. On top of that, we had mini gift bags that all the guests were to receive when they got to the hotel as the hotel had room blocks for the wedding. They were given to the front desk with the request to put them in the rooms for those there for the wedding. We were told this was no problem, as guests were arriving they had the bags behind the desk and started handing out multiples to each person even though the instructions were one per room and to be in the rooms. One of the guests went up to the front desk explaining to the women that they were supposed to be in the rooms already and one per room (again as we were told they can do this earlier in the day). She rudely, with an attitude, told her that "they don't do that" and they'll hand them out when guests are checking in "if they remember". Overall, the main issue was the lack of professionalism from the front desk women who were extremely nasty and miserable.
