Betlyn installed out HVAC system about 30 years ago. This company has been amazing in their customer service, work quality, honesty and promptness. I know our system is old, however they continue to come and repair it when we have issues. When this system bites the dust, I am going to go right back and ask them to do the new install. We recently had our first furnace malfunction and decided to call Betlyn's based on positive reviews. He responded on a Saturday within hours, and was able to quickly find the issue of a broken motor. Unfortunately for us, we were told this motor was an expensive part and would cost around $600. The repair job took 5 minutes, but he made sure to find time to place an advertising sticker on our hot water heater that he was not servicing. He also mentioned several times that he was highlighted on the news for his free service to one military family. After researching online, we found out that the price of the motor ranged between $200-$300. We should have seeked a second opinion before paying the high price Betlyn's charged. read more

Every review I've seen written has never actually used the company, met them, or even lives in the state/country! I have used the company multiple times, they were always a bit more expensive, but we just kept using them out of convenience . Recently our AC stopped working (on one of the hottest days of the year!) They came out and replaced the fan motor. They charged us $600 for what we found out later was a $60 part and a 15 min job. 2 days later it was stopped working again. Of course, this was a Friday and we were told we would have to pay more for them to come before Monday. So we sweated it out until then when they came and decided to TRY a new capacitor. I asked if this would give us a few more years and they said "yeah it could". 2 weeks later it stops working again and they tell us it's shot. I was told they pretty much "put a new engine in a rusted car". We asked around and got several other estimates, all of which came in under what they wanted to charge us even with a $300 incentive for the $600 fan they charged us. When we told them we were going with someone else, they refused to buy back the motor (at even cost which would have still been a $540 profit for them) and got nasty with us on the phone. They acknowledged that the price of the part was relatively cheap but "that's called a profit sweetheart". I feel anyone with such a "big heart" would not feel right charging $600 for a $60 part and then refusing to do anything to help beyond that does not seem like something you do when you care about your customers! read more

Hire with Caution! This company installed 4 furnaces for me over the last 3 years in other rental properties I own. I recently purchase another property out of foreclosure and no one has lived there for several months if not at least a year. I knew the furnace was working since I did have the heat on but I wanted them to clean the furnace and check the AC unit as it felt like it wasn't cooling. I also waited after the remodel as I knew both would be dirty afterwards. They went to the property, gave them the code to enter so they could go on their own time as it was still vacant. The feedback from Betlyn was the furnace was cleaned, check and in working order. The AC on the other hand was out of freon and they recommended replacement due to the age of the AC unit. I spoke to the owner on the phone and he gave me a price to replace the AC and said nothing else. I wanted to obtain another estimate for the AC replacement. When this company came to the property, they called and said the furnace is dirty and there is no air flow at all. I called Betlyn to find out why they didn't clean the furnace as that was what I paid to have them do. The owner was extremely rude, condescending and just down right disrespectful. He kept asking if I was going to have them replace the AC unit and said the furnace would be cleaned as that was part of the AC replacement price (but they never told me this originally). I asked what was my $110 payment for and he gave me some rude comment and made up story, he even told me the gas wasn't on (which it was as the heat was on). Then he kept asking if I was going to have them do the AC unit, I said I want my furnace cleaned first and then he hung up on me. The bottom-line is don't ever question their work then you will never have to worry about being hung up on. $110 down the drain! ----- UPDATE 7-31-18: I had another company replace the AC unit, clean the furnace completely and also replaced the upper coil area that is attached to the furnace (not sure that is correct terminology) for $2,368. Betlyn quoted me around $3,500. read more
