He suggested it could be a bad bulb connection (take it out and clean the contacts) or an issue with the wall switch. Sure enough, it turned out to be our dimmer switch -- it just couldn't hold the charge properly and was causing the constant flickering. What really stands out is that Ian could have easily scheduled a service call and charged me a couple hundred bucks to come out. Instead, he gave me the exact fix for free and saved me the hassle and expense. In a world where so many companies push for paid visits, this level of honesty and helpfulness is rare and genuinely appreciated. When I called, it turns out he refused to give me an invoice because he thinks I am going to commit fraud all because I asked him the day that he was here if he is licensed bonded and insured which is a normal question to ask of a contractor. He accused me of trying to commit fraud when he was the one who spent two hours here and couldn't even figure what the problem is all the time saying that he had to leave to buy his mom lunch.

It's in the middle of the night and I search for 24 hour electricians. The first company I called did not pick up. I call AAA Electric next, and they pick up right away. I explain the situation to Fredo and he tells me he doesn't need to make a visit and charge me for that. (He said he could but this is something I could do myself). We appreciate him for all his work inside the house, & not beating around the bush to let us know exactly what our house needed. In order to add that 200 amp panel, we had to relocate panel locations, which involved having to cut half of our lemon tree. To our surprise, Arturo & Manny were able to cut the tree for us, and they even cleaned up the mess and took the trash with them (& picked/saved our lemons for us). Arturo was involved the whole time and we are very appreciative of all his hard work. We also appreciate Manny very much for advocating for us, as the relocation would have costed us more than we had already paid (which stretched us out so thin already), and he realized that we were not told ahead of time that the relocation could cost more, so he worked it out with the company to help us out. Our overall experience was really excellent from start to finish. Other technicians who worked on our project were: Jonny, JC, & Christian (who did the work in our crawl space). I had an initial quote from a company charging about 1000 under Alex's price and in the interest of saving money I went with them. In the end the quote was not accurate and the contractor wanted 2000 more, this quote did not even include AFCI breakers at that price which Alex let me know were required for my job. Going with the cheapest quote was inaccurate, not up to code, and now costing me more. Alex spent his valuable Sunday evening to go over how I can resolve this billing dispute with the other contractor. I am sad I did not go with him, he was the most accurate quote, knowledgeable and said the extra work I was charged for was likely unnecessary. I really appreciate Alex taking the time and I am mad I did not go with him to complete my work.
