    I sent a quote request to Penna Electric via Yelp and received a response to schedule an estimate appointment. I spoke with a lady named Jaime (JAY-Me) for a week later as their next available opening. I was visited by Todd Penna, founder and CEO, which I greatly appreciated as it showed that the ownership is still hands on when dealing with potential customers and is more than willing to get dirty because their name is more than who they are. Todd acknowledged my need to upgrade my service panel and add a sub-panel to the garage, along with the possibility of doing a complete home rewire. Todd and I went over everything and he itemized all that was requested along with detailing what would happen such as space required for his workers, access and the possibility of opening holes in walls. After we finished he said I would receive a proposal via email that is itemized. This allowed me to see what the total cost would be for everything I wanted and pick and choose what I needed due to budget. I called Penna Electric office and spoke with Jaime to set-up a Phase 1 proposal for only the 200 amp service and 100 amp sub-panel. A Penna Electric crew of 2 showed up on the scheduled date in the morning and after some rain shenanigans began work on the outside after installing the sub-panel and running conduit. They did enough to get the old panel out and install the new panel and neatly wire it up so we power after they finish. The same crew came back the next day to wire the sub-panel, stucco what they cut out and patch a cut-out of drywall. They also checked and labeled the panel before cleaning up and finishing for the day. They gave me a call while I was at work to report they finished. I appreciate that they were very respectful to my mother who was there to give them access and deliver final payment. While I do not care about COVID-19 protocols, they did show up wearing mask and being respectful of social distancing. Overall, this was my first time using Penna Electric and it will not be my last. I will definitely give Todd and his crew the work that I cant handle. Highly recommend

    The dedicated circuit is coming down that conduit.

There were a series of excellent reviews. I sent hima a message and he got back to me right away. When we spoke, Ian himself walked me through the troubleshooting over the phone. He suggested it could be a bad bulb connection (take it out and clean the contacts) or an issue with the wall switch. Sure enough, it turned out to be our dimmer switch -- it just couldn't hold the charge properly and was causing the constant flickering. What really stands out is that Ian could have easily scheduled a service call and charged me a couple hundred bucks to come out. Instead, he gave me the exact fix for free and saved me the hassle and expense. In a world where so many companies push for paid visits, this level of honesty and helpfulness is rare and genuinely appreciated. While it cost me nothing, it cost him his time.I As a result, I promised Ian I'd write a glowing review, and here it is. We still paid him. Southern Ca Edison came and correctly diagnosed the issue and fixed it. It turns out that they are the ones who we should have called first but we didn't know that. They said we can submit a claim for reimbursement. Alfred dodged all my husband's atttempts to get an invoice. When I called, it turns out he refused to give me an invoice because he thinks I am going to commit fraud all because I asked him the day that he was here if he is licensed bonded and insured which is a normal question to ask of a contractor. He accused me of trying to commit fraud when he was the one who spent two hours here and couldn't even figure what the problem is all the time saying that he had to leave to buy his mom lunch.

It's in the middle of the night and I search for 24 hour electricians. The first company I called did not pick up. I call AAA Electric next, and they pick up right away. I explain the situation to Fredo and he tells me he doesn't need to make a visit and charge me for that. (He said he could but this is something I could do myself). So, he has me send him a picture of my circuit breaker and guides me on what to do. And guess what? It worked! He told me he has sisters and a mom and he wouldn't want anyone swindling them, so he treats people the same way. With honesty. A very trustworthy company!

Scheduling with them initially was a little confusing - first we were messaging through Yelp, then text, then they sent me to their website. They were communicative but I never knew which channel to reach out to first. They did come out quickly which was appreciated. The first two gentleman that came to replace my fan and fix my ceiling light were not great. They would look at something, and then disappear and call someone and be on the phone with someone while they were looking at the fan or light fixture, almost like they were calling someone and asking them what they should do. Shouldn't they know? They were at my house for HOURS. WAY longer than I think they should have been. They would just look at the light fixture and talk to each other for like 5 minutes, then step out to make a phone call, then come back and start working on it. Over and over and over. They took a brand new fan out of the box and replaced it, but it wobbled like crazy (turns out they just didn't put the fan together really well because the second guys that came back made it much better). When they replaced my dimmer switch and celiing light, it looked AWFUL. Wasn't flush to the ceiling at all. They told me just to patch it, but this clearly needed more than a patch! I couldn't believe they just left it like that. I called and told them I was unhappy with their work, and they offered to come back and fix it. The second guys that came back were in and out so fast. They fixed the light and it looks perfect, just as it should. Clearly the first guys that came out had no idea what they were doing. Disappointed to have had a less than stellar experience, considering how highly reviewed they are. It must depend on what service folks you have come out to actually do the work.
