We had B&M Electric upgrade our electrical panel from 100 amps to 200 amps, install a whole house surge protector, install required GFCI protection, & more.. Carlos was the very nice technician who came for the initial inspection. He was involved in the project the whole time. We appreciate him for all his work inside the house, & not beating around the bush to let us know exactly what our house needed. In order to add that 200 amp panel, we had to relocate panel locations, which involved having to cut half of our lemon tree. To our surprise, Arturo & Manny were able to cut the tree for us, and they even cleaned up the mess and took the trash with them (& picked/saved our lemons for us). Arturo was involved the whole time and we are very appreciative of all his hard work. We also appreciate Manny very much for advocating for us, as the relocation would have costed us more than we had already paid (which stretched us out so thin already), and he realized that we were not told ahead of time that the relocation could cost more, so he worked it out with the company to help us out. Our overall experience was really excellent from start to finish. Other technicians who worked on our project were: Jonny, JC, & Christian (who did the work in our crawl space). My husband reached out to them for an electrical quote and didn't hear back. When he reached out again by phone they said they were not sure if he was serious or not and that's why no reply. Weird! To give them another chance, I reached out to them via email with details of our project for a quote and didn't hear back, so we went with another company. They finally replied 25 days after my email but not with a quote, just saying they were ready to move forward. I did not find B and M to have the kind of communication skills I would like for a business relationship. My outlets and some lights in the master suddenly had no power. Leonel and Ken took hours checking the breaker box outside, junction boxes in the attic, and many outlets in the house. It was a tricky problem. Ken found that an outlet in an adjacent bedroom had burnt wire due to loose connection. After Ken replaced the wire and outlet, power was restored to the master. They did a great detective work and they solved a difficult problem! I will surely get their help next time I have electrical issue and recommend them to others. read more

We had Carlos come out to check the outlets at our new house after our inspection report mentioned some were not GFCI. He came on time, quickly got to work and checked every outlet, gave us several options to choose from for fixing our issues and got straight to work same day. Had him install a new ceiling fan as well in a spot where there wasn't one so had to go through the attic on a miserably hot day. Very thorough, cleaned up everything nicely. I asked B&M to help investigate why a light in the bathroom was not working. I was out of town. They came with a $75.00 service charge that would be waived incase some work needed to be done. No new rewiring required, just a reconnect neutral to the switch plug and the cost was $595.00. What a rip off! I asked how much would replacing panel be and the estimate was $7500.00, same panel replacement was quoted at $1200.00 by another. I only asked for the estimate to compare how they charge. Just using technical garbles and ripping people off. Sorry not using this business for my electric needs ever again. I am out of town for a years assignment but would have preferred to do this on my own or call my handyman. Bad business strategy and unconscionable pricing B&M. Sorry!! to have called you guys. As a physician this was 3 times what I earn per hour to just rehook up neutral wire. I will report to better business bureau. 06/04/26 ADDENDUM: I received a phone call from Manuel( Manny). He took responsibility for something that was not his fault. He expressed the automation and billing software allowed the overcharge and was willing to refund the entire amount but I requested only the overcharged portion be refunded. He also explained why the estimates for panels were overblown and related to the same software error. That said; I asked that the business look into these overpricing errors and assure that the customers aren't unnecessary being hurt by the delinquincy of our software dependence. The good: office is very responsive. Got a technician onsite super fast. Technician was very nice and willing. The bad: technician had no idea how to fix the problem and still charged us over $400. Problems remained exactly the same after. I called another company after this and they diagnosed and fixed the problem in 5 minutes. Looking back on my experience, I think the right thing to do would be for the onsite tech to admit you didn't know how to fix it or call another more experienced technician for consultation.
