When it comes time to send your best friend over the Rainbow bridge. I would want no one else performing this "last rights" day or night 24/7. Just call and if available I am sure you will be satisfied. Doctor assisted our family with 2 elderly dogs and two cats. One of the cats by choice was 19, but the other one was 18 and was dropped off at the farm house and lived in the barn all summer until the kids found her (Fuzzy) we called her, so she was older because she was an adult cat and already fixed. No one claimed her as we notified local vets and sheriff office of found pet. We also was down on savings one time and they let's us charge the bill for 30 days. Very very helpful, outstanding staff and Doctors, please visit you won't be sorry! KLH

I called Suttons Bay Animal Hospital and they scheduled the appointment for the following day. Dr. Kayla Piskorowski was the vet we saw and she was phenomenal. Caroline, our golden, isn't a fan of going to the vet but the way Dr. Piskorowski talked to her and examined her made her think she was just getting loved on and she didn't even realize she was seeing the vet. It was probably one of the vet experiences we've ever had and I would not hesitate to revisit that office again if we were ever in the area.

This is an easy review with the highest of praise - they have: 1. fantastic, caring vets; 2. friendly, knowledgable techs; 3. efficient, kind front desk staff. We worked with 3 other vets before Oakwood. Best move for our guys (Harry & Moody), best move for the wife and me. Love this group and HIGHLY recommend you check them out...your pet(s) deserve it!

This place is honestly quite theatrical. I had been bringing my dog here since he was a puppy for…read morehis vaccines and nail trims. On one visit, I picked him up to find his paw bleeding because his nail had been cut past the quick. The only response I received was essentially a "sorry" when they handed him back. Ever since that experience, nail trims have caused him significant anxiety. Because of that, I made it VERY clear in advance of today's appointment that he would need to be sedated for his nail trim. Despite being told this beforehand, they still attempted the nail trim without sedation, causing him even more stress and anxiety. I then received a call saying they would need to try sedation because they didn't want to risk getting him more worked up or their staff getting injured -- which is interesting, considering that is exactly what I told them needed to happen in the first place. I completely understand protecting your staff. What I don't understand is why that same level of caution wasn't extended to my dog, especially when his history and needs were communicated ahead of time. If you don't have the confidence, training, or ability to safely perform a service on an anxious dog, say that before attempting it. Don't put the animal through unnecessary stress and then decide afterward to follow the instructions the owner already gave you. After years of bringing my dog here I am starting to see that this veterinary office DOES NOT take both the safety of its staff and the safety and well-being of its animals seriously.
