Creative Arts Center (CAC) is located in the George Izay Park vicinity in Burbank, California. It was renamed last year to "Betsy Lueke Creative Arts Center". They offer a variety of art classes. There are monthly art shows, usually from groups around the Greater Los Angeles Area. Also, during November-December they host a crafts fair for local artist to sell handmade clothes, jewelry, photography, pottery and other great holiday gifts. Between you and I, Art is subjective. Not everybody cares for it either. Artists take their time to hone their crafts but usually it is because of a deeper passion and their need to voice their perspectives. It could be about life, love, eco-friendliness, animals, politics, religion... Just name a subject and google search to find an artist into the niche. Creativity can be a very powerful thing. Art allows a person to communicate their feelings coupled with their imagination. In general, people that support the Arts don't always have to agree with the messages... However, it allows for understanding and embracing the world around us. "Ignorant bliss" would be nice. And really, I'm all for the traditional fairly tale of living happily ever in love, protected in a bubble without earthquakes... However, we live in a melting pot of cultures. Embrace the differences and become a little bit more fair about what exists outside our own lives. And don't ever be afraid to express yourself. You don't have to go to the Creative Arts Center, but I attend plenty of the gallery shows... And finally, I wrote a Yelp Review. Prices for art classes may vary. Call or drop by for further information during business hours. Or go to the library for a Burbank Recreations Guide. I found you an online link for it - https://www.burbankca.gov/departments/parks-and-recreation/recreation-guide The monthly art shows are free and open to the public. Visitors are welcome to make donations.

I stumbled upon this place while walking around George Izay Park. I have been so many times in this park but didn't know that this place exists. The place is sparkling clean with very shiny tile floors and perfect illumination for a gallery. On two different occasions that I dropped by here, I've seen this young lady in front desk. I believe she works here but she doesn't even acknowledge anyone who comes in. No hi or even a glance as her back is always turned against the gallery while she's working on her computer. She doesn't even check if guests touch the paintings, smear them, or even worst take them home. I'm talking about paintings that cost around four grand each. The elderly woman, who is a volunteer worker here, is way friendlier. She told me what the gallery does, and offered me a schedule of activities. She also invited me to the opening night of Bonnie Lambert's oil painting exhibit. She even shared with me how she ended up being a volunteer here. If only the employee could be as enthusiastic as her then the public would be enticed to keep coming here.

Lovely little art gallery! Went to Antonio Pelayo's father/son event back in September. Ample parking and gallery has a cozy feel to it.

She shows demos for different drawing and painting projects and gives helpful critique and feedback on our work. She created easy to follow steps for us to understand difficult cast, face or figure drawings and paintings. She gives amazing anatomy lectures and demos on understading bones and muscles and drawing them. Her painting mathod of starting from big planes and gradually going to smaller planes and details is wonderful and very helpful. She also has an incredible pallette and methods to avoid seeing any dirty colors in any painting. She even helps us find creative subjects for our projects. So basically, I am in love with this studio! I have learned so much from Alexandra that no one else has ever been able or attempted to teach me. Not only is she a great teacher, but her art is amazing! She teaches all levels, I've seen her teach the basics of drawing 3 dimensional objects to figure drawing, all with the same enthusiasm and devotion to each student.

It actually reminded me of a high-end Vegas resort with all those beautiful Renaissance-style statues. Here are a few highlights from my visit: The Views: You get a fantastic panoramic view of the city from the grounds. The Layout: There are two main buildings right next to each other, but keep in mind you'll need to drive to reach the third one. The Art: Don't miss the massive painting in the auditorium; it's located right behind the "church" entrance and the scale of it is incredible. Cost: It's completely free to enter! We ended up joining a guided tour, and I'm so glad we did because the background info they shared really brought the art to life. If you're near the Forest Lawn Museum, it's definitely a must-visit.
