Stopped here for dessert after having dinner on Saturday night…read more Grab a tray & tongs - and start loading up things to try. A variety of pastries and rolls, plus a beverage area, made to order coffee bar and packaged foods in fridge case. We tried a cheese and blueberry pastry, pain chcocolate, cookies n cream filled donut, and tuxedo cake. Everything was still fresh despite it being 8pm. I also added an iced chocolate which was incredibly rich and very very good.

As soon as we walked in, we noticed the instructions to grab a tray and tongs since it's a self-service bakery- you get to select your own items and then pay at the counter. Most of the baked goods looked fresh, with a few packaged options as well. We tried quite a variety: custard-filled donuts (strawberry, lemon, and vanilla), a sugar twisted donut, apple danish, and a curry croquette. Every single item was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! For drinks, my husband ordered a hot caramel macchiato, and I had an iced matcha espresso. While the drinks were good, we did wait about 15 minutes for them. The two girls behind the counter were working quickly, but it still felt a little long. Maybe an extra set of hands (or an upgraded machine) would help. Overall, it was a great experience- the customer service was warm, the bakery was clean and inviting, and the food was excellent. We'll definitely be back to try even more baked goodies. Frederick needed a spot like this, and we're glad it's here!!!

Owner chatted with us as we ordered and ate our goodies, and it was cool to be able to see them preparing other treats in the back. The treats we had were delicious. In order, I liked shortbread cookie, butterscotch blondie, and Earl Grey scone. To be fair, I might have liked the scone more than the blondie if I'd tasted the scone (less sweet) first. My son really enjoyed the rice crispy treat (with Lucky Charms cereal for St Patty's Day) and the cookie. However he LOVED the chocolate chip cookie sandwich (filled with chocolate and vanilla cream or icing) and said he would return just for that. Our 6 treats totaled $29. At an average of almost $5 each, I'm glad this is a bit out of the way for us so we aren't tempted too often.

Her buttercream flavor is delicious and the whole cakes always come out delicious and beautiful! All of our guests always compliment the cakes because of sight and flavor and ask where it's from! We've obviously had other cakes at other events from local vendors and they do not compare in taste and texture to Sweet & Savory :) We hope she always keeps her doors open because we will continue to seek her for our events that require cake/pastries :)

I was looking for a bakery to purchase a red velvet cake for my best friend's birthday, and I only had about 6 days before I'd need it. I'd called another place but earliest that I would be able to pick up on the day that I needed it was 2 PM. That was entirely too late. However when I called Sweet & Savory, Meghan told me she could do it and asked me when I wanted to pick up. She said that they opened as early as 8 AM, even on Sunday. So, I requested to pick up the cake at 10:30 AM, on the Sunday of the day I needed the cake. She asked me a few details about the cake design, but I told her to be creative. I gave her the colors I wanted, and icing choice, but she could be creative with design. Per Megan, I know now that she doesn't prefer to not have a cake design concept from the customer (I can understand why, because without it, it can be a nightmare with some customers), but I trusted her expertise. I'm a creative person, so I know sometimes it can be confining to not allow an artist to let their creative juices just flow! I had feeling she would come up with something amazing, and SHE DID! Can I just say, she knocked it out of the park!?! The cake was gorgeous and delicious! My friend love, love, loved the cake! She's still talking about that cake and it's been a week! The folks at our event loved the cake too! It was so soft and moist (that is difficult to do with red velvet cake) and the icing tasted like a cream cheese, the macaroons were out of this world and overall it was incredible! I cannot wait to use this bakery for future events and/or special occasions! So, if you're looking for an incredible professional bakery, affordable, convenient and the baked goods are awesome, then go to Sweet and Savory! You will not be disappointed, and if you are, then you did something wrong or something's wrong with you because they are the BOMB.com! Thank you Sweet and Savory!

I saw people coming out of here! I didn't hesitate, I skipped right on across the street to see what I could see. The cutest Korean bakery! The same bakery you know and love from H Mart now has a stand alone location in the heart of downtown Frederick. I took a spin around, snapped some photos and then grab a tray to load up with goodies. I love that its self-serve. You can always get the one you want without the awkward and mostly ineffective pointing and direction giving from behind the glass lol. I picked up a nice mix or sweet and savories. I think my favorite was the spicy jalapeño ham & bacon roll. It was soft, spicy, salty, and just the right amount of sweet from the dough. You can order finer pastries, coffee, and boba tea from the counter and eat in or take it to go. I'll be coming here every time I'm in town for sure!

It turns out it was a Korean bakery & cafe which was unexpected for the area. We got the salt bread & egg tart which were both great! They also included an extra small pastry as a bonus which was nice. As for the teas, they were on the sweeter side so I wasn't the biggest fan. I wish we could adjust the sweetness and the boba was ok, it hardened up pretty quickly. I'd return for thr pastries but not the boba.

My gf and I ordered chicken adobo to share and was told it was chicken. After eating it, we realized it was clearly pork. When I brought this up, the staff did not believe us and continued to insist it was chicken instead of taking the concern seriously. They didn't even try to look at the bowl they served me. Let me be clear this is not just about preference serving pork when a customer is told it's chicken can have major religious and dietary consequences. Many people avoid pork for religious reasons, and dismissing that concern is unacceptable. Accuracy and transparency with ingredients are basic expectations, especially when it comes to meat. We got a few baked good we got silvana was good. The biko was gods cooked well the sweetness was balanced. The restaurant was clean and quiet. The vibe was chill. But that doesn't outweigh the impact of being misled about what I was eating. Trust is broken, and I won't be returning. Gwenies need to train their staff and they need to clearly label meats and take customer concerns seriously especially when religion and dietary restrictions are involved. I have been a fan of Gwenies for years and would even travel to their original location in Rockville MD. Please make sure you check your bowls get to her correct meat you order! I won't be returning such a shame.
