Wow this ice cream was really good! It really does taste like it was made with high quality ingredients. The cones they make right in the window are soooo good too. There was one kid cooking the cones, one guy taking orders and making ice cream, and a third kid helping and working the pos and they were so efficient but it was funny to see they were fast and friendly. Lots of seating outside in a good spot downtown.

She also cares what you think of her craft and welcomes feedback. The store is so lovely and clean. Not too little, not too much. They have samples and a spoon slide. The spoon slide is my favorite; it's so much smarter to have reusable spoons, thereby reducing waste. The only "waste" I want to increase is my waistline, so I'm sure to hit them up. This visit I tried the California Pistachio, and my husband tried the Spiked Egg Nog. *snaps fingers in air twirling around* She. Does. Not. Miss. I abhor egg nog, but the ice cream was so good! The California Pistachio was like a dream. Truly nutty flavor with the creamy companion of the other ingredients. Yes, please! I don't care if there's a blizzard, I'm getting BAIC when I'm in Victoria! You should, too!

Best ice cream I've ever had! The owner checked us out and was incredibly sweet, taking the time to share the story behind the shop and how everything started. We were so excited to hear that the ice cream is made with clean ingredients and no additives. You really can taste the difference!! We got the pistachio and sea salt cream (with cookies) in the waffle cones and loved both flavors. Bonus: you can see them making the waffle cones fresh in the window. This will be our go to ice cream shop going forward in Victoria read more

Among the worst ice cream I've ever had. The operative word is cream and what I had was not. The texture should be smooth and creamy. It was lumpy and grainy. The tastes weren't there for me either. The pistachio didn't hhsve the sweetness of the pistachio nut. The staff were nice enough and the shop is inviting however the product didn't make it for me. read more

We stumbled on this place as we were getting ready to end a day of sightseeing. We enjoyed simple and delicious scoops of ice cream, and we tasted some samples of sauces that are not yet on the menu. A young server was warm and friendly, and we were glad we stopped. This place is not a typical tourist trap and right now the ice cream menu is small, but there was fine with us! read more

This place is amazing!!! As a gluten free family we were absolutely delighted to find out everything is gluten free - including the cookies and cream AND cones! We never get cake cones (and they were delicious!) I love that they use high quality ingredients - no gums. There was no sacrifice on flavor or texture. Super smooth and creamy. Sweet but not overly sweet - perfect balance. I had the cookies and cream as did my kids and omg delicious!!! The shop itself is super cute and employees were very friendly. Highly highly recommend going here to enjoy their amazing ice cream!!! read more

First time in Canada and I have to say, Better Acres Ice Cream was the perfect place to celebrate. The ice cream was phenomenal, great taste, texture, and the staff was friendly/attentive as well. It can be a bit spendy as it starts at CA$109 per person before tax and tip - at least for me I allocated the entire $100 USD dining credit with the Amex fine hotels and resorts benefit on this. Reservations are almost mandatory for weekend and I'm glad I made one just in case, although it was rather risky due to the 48 hour cancellation policy if I fly in the morning of, but it worked out. They're strict on time - I made a 12pm reservation and they refused to seat me even though it was not busy at all at 11am opening and made me wait until exactly 12pm. A bit harsh when I contacted the hotel and made a note to the restaurant for my arrival details. I got the traditional afternoon tea for 1 so just tea and 3 tiers of scones, small bites, and desserts. It was quite nice of them to refill the entire tier of savory small bites even though I only requested 3, so that was a nice touch that somewhat made up the poor first impression. You can request more of certain items for free, just don't abuse the system basically The food with the 1 tier refill was more than enough food for me - the service was decent as they checked up on me during the meal. I nicely asked for the tea gift box that is only reserved for anniversaries and they accommodated, but this will almost unlikely happen in many situations so your mileage may vary. I did wait 20 minutes for the gift box as it wasn't a priority for them, so do what you will to see if it is worth the time (I at least was not in a rush)

We ended up getting a number of different items: Custard Ball ($2.99) - We warmed this up in a toaster oven, giving a bit of the crust on the exterior edges of the donut, especially on the top where the powdered sugar turns into an almost crème brulee-like topping. The crumb is very fluffy fried and is filled with a sweetened vanilla custard. (4/5) Ube Custard Ball ($2.99) - This has the same donut dough base as the normal custard ball, but is filled with a dark purple ube cream. It's sweet and earthy, albeit not necessarily the most heavily ube flavored. (4/5) Original Ube Ensaymada ($2.99) - This bun, extremely fluffy and nice to eat, has an interesting spiral pattern construction at least when viewed from the bottom, but it's not apparent inside the bun. The bun is sweet and again there's not too much ube flavor. If it wasn't purple I'm not sure I could identify it as ube in flavor. (4/5) Classic Pandesal ($0.99) - Lightly sweet, great soft texture.
