Being that I was in a hurry I decided to quickly do my pedicure, on my own of course, and i accidentally pricked my big toenail while trying to remove my cuticle. Well I think that's what I did. All I know is everything was fine on the plane, but when I got to Australia 24 hours later I was in the most severe pain ever. The left side of my left foot, big toe, where I had taken out the cuticle was inflamed. This has never happened to me before. Because my health insurance is so crappy in aus I decided to give it a couple of days. I kept putting my foot in a warm salt bath but after a week the pain just got worse and my skin was inflamed, I quickly googled this podiatrist and found this center. I believe the podiatrists name was Ms. Nguyen. She was soo gentle and had amazing energy! The next day I was legit 90% healed and in a few days I will be able to work out again and run...finally :) I can't recommend this place enough.

Paid over $100 for a delux pedi which promises a little bit of pampering with a medical pedicure…read more I suppose I am paying for a podiatrist trimming my toenails but I just found the pampering bit lacking. Weak ass scrub on my feet, 5 mins of toenail trimming and 10 mins of removing dry skin then the podiatrist put a collagen mask on my feet and left me sitting for half an hour. My feet did feel smooth but only for a day. I have got rough heels again :( Thank goodness my health fund rebated some of it. Without the added benefit of a nail polish it just felt like I have nothing to show for.

While a pedicure is most people's solution, if you want the REAL DEAL visit a podiatrist where they get out medical scalpels and other neat stuff to buff your feet in to oblivion. Those babies are going to be so soft afterwards, trust me. This place will even paint your toenails for a full medical pedicure that ensure you look good and don't risk picking up some gross foot fungus that can be common in nail salons who don't clean their tools properly.

A visit to a podiatrist was well overdue and so I was pleased to find I could easily book an appointment online with the Fitzroy foot and ankle clinic. Glen was warm and friendly and didn't chastise me for having rough heels or give me a lecture about needing to wear orthotics. I've experienced this kind of approach from podiatrists in the past and it was refreshing to have an appointment with someone realistic about my lifestyle. Instead of trying to up sell orthotics, he gave me an explanation about the biomechanics of my feet and suggested I do some simple foot stretches to improve the structure of my feet. And, the best bit, all of the rough skin was removed painlessly from my feet and my toes can now be unleashed upon the world this summer!

I have been going here for about 6 years so I have seen a few doctors at this practice. I prefer to stick with one when possible but sometimes schedules and urgent issues don't allow that. The doctors (Dr Oh, Dr Khoo, Dr Civitico) I have seen are all very good. They provide thoroughness and consistency that you just don't get at the big commercial chain practices. They do charge above the Medicare fee and ask you to pay the entire fee up front but they do forward the details to Medicare on your behalf for reimbursement directly from medicare for the standard amount. They have an onsite collection centre for HealthScope pathology so you can one stop shop if needed.

I mean, she's fantastic and I happily recommend her to people, but can you really get excited about a medical clinic? On reflection though, I found that it's possible to think about your experiences in that place to date and realise you have very little to fault. I see two doctors at this clinic - Dr Trish Civitico and Dr Graeme Edwards. Both are great! Whilst Collins Place does bulk bill, a regular appointment will still need you to pay a certain amount over and above that. After your Medicare rebate, it works out to be about $15. They do however bulk bill vaccinations and the full cost is covered. I started going to CPMC when I worked across the road... and whilst I no longer work there, I still make the trip into the city because the experience here is consistently great... and when you're sick, you want consistency and predictability, right?
