Aside from learning an impressive amount of dance moves in a few days that can be filmed to look decent, the kids also have playtime midday including water play on Fridays. After care runs as late as 6 but my daughter was mostly just watching Disney movies with the very nice girl watching her, not much else was going on. Main con was that the camp was one of the most expensive ones per week compared with other camps locally with similar hours, including themed ones (eg hiller aviation). Also it was really hard to retrieve the video of kids' dances - it's hosted on canva and there's no way to download the hard file. Aside from that, my daughter had fun and we hope to do it again next year.

An intense, exciting time! They won an award for choreography at JTF West! She also did Triple Threat and High school Musical this summer. So to say the least, We Are FANs! We feel so lucky to have Chelsea teaching our daughter! A lovely personality and mentor, a highly skilled dancer and choreographer, a patient and kind Director. The Music Director Kevin warmly and patiently builds the student's musical understanding and performances. His contribution keeps musical standards high and performances enjoyable. The Business Director/Producer Rachel adds the no nonsense behind the scenes taking care of business ballast for all this creativity. We are grateful for her expertise to keep SingOut thriving. My daughter is attending a performing arts school in the fall. We will still be attending Tue/Thurs Musical Theater at SingOut. It is top notch and she loves it!

Originally named DLOC in 1959 when they formed a company performing Gilbert & Sullivan Light Operas. Eventually they changed the name to Diablo Theater Co. They had a youth program called STARS 2000, which continues to this day to operate. Diablo Theater Co. that use to produce large scale Musicals & Light Opera productions at the Lesher Center For The Arts in Walnut Creek, is no longer in business. STARS 2000 continues as their own company. There is no other youth program that is under the auspices of the Diablo Theater Co. and in fact their studios were sold and are under the ownership of Performing Arts Academy.

Poorly organized and your kid better have thick skin…read more Disappointed in the summer camp program (can't comment on the regular school year classes). To sum up: 1) a stressed instructor trying to put on a play with 25 kids in one week at a cost of good vibes and empathy; 2) unprofessionalism due to an overlooked conflict of interest and 3) poor communication. This combo resulted in our 6-year old, who loves acting and singing and was very excited about this camp, on day 3 refusing to finish the 5-day camp. As confirmed by the instructor, she lost her role in the play, which she really wanted and loved, because she started crying and had a hard time stopping. There wasn't enough time (or empathy) to deal with tears, so our daughter was sidelined. To the point of unprofessionalism - the meltdown was triggered by a perceived ongoing unfairness of favoritism with the teacher's kid, during games and when participating in the play. A good example - a number of other kids (not ours) had wanted the lead role, so it was "auditioned," with the teacher's kid going first and being given the lead role by her mom, a clear conflict of interest and easily avoidable. Then because of poor communication, it took two days to talk to anyone to understand why my kid was removed from her role. The contact number takes one to voicemail, and then a full day to get a callback. So our daughter tearfully urged us that she didn't want to go back anymore (and we didn't make her).

I am receiving very personalized acting techniques, the ability to get camera, video, green screen, monologe, improv, shakspeare, etc etc. When I got into acting, I wanted to give myself the best opportunity to learn so I could give myself the best shot. I feel with his personalized atmosphere, the drive of his coaching, and the opportunities that he presents for you, there is not anything better out there. As patrons: they have amazing shows with top notch quality (for a community theatre type). Definitely great production value. Music orchestra is excellent, and performers work really hard. They also employ all local members of the community. As performers: very supportive environment, you learn tons, and make great friends. Too bad they only do one show a year (in the summer).
