Some of the baked goods Bette was selling.

Bette and Chuck were such a charming couple. Loved the fact that this restaurant was in their house. My group was in Pine Ridge Reservation for an Alternative Break trip and this was a go to place. Bette is kin to Black Elk (a well-known medicine and holy man of Oglala Lakota Sioux people who was a cousin to Crazy Horse). The fried bread is a must and for just $0.50 cents a steal. There were three options (1. Homemade Chicken Noodle soup, 2. Chicken/Non-Chicken Salad, 3. Chicken Tenders with baked beans and macaroni salad). I got the soup; it was hearty and a nice order. The tenders were frozen and they just deep fried them to thaw them out. Bette's daughter was making the salad...it was prepackaged but tasted fine. If back at Pine Ridge I'll visit them again and hear Chuck's rodeo tales.

My wife and I love it here, but we miss the wide variety of food options in LA. But we don't miss LA's feeble attempts to serve a decent burger. Yoba's burgers (prepared personally by Steve "Yoba" Elwood himself) are...AMONG THE FINEST BURGERS IN THE WORLD! (I feel qualified to say this because I have eaten burgers -- or at least foods described as "burgers" -- on five continents.) The 'Yoba Burger Deluxe' is a half-pound of absolutely fresh, never-frozen (eat your heart out, Wendy's) Nebraska beef, char-grilled to perfection...and you can get it rare if you want! (They also serve great steaks, but I find steaks to be the burger's pretentious older brothers.) So, listen, if you're heading to the nearby Black Hills of South Dakota, or the world-famous Sturgis Bike Week or making a pilgrimage to the majesty of Carhenge in Alliance, Nebraska or otherwise wandering around the Panhandle, you won't find many food options (other than fast food, of course -- there's a Subway in most of these small towns). At Yoba's in Rushville, however, you will find a TRULY GREAT burger. What else do you need? How good is the burger? It's worth driving three hours out of your way, at least.

Hours say open until 9 PM?! so we stood there at the hostess station trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Young Gal said sorry we're closed and I asked why? The employees are taking their kids trick-or-treating. OK I get it's Halloween, but it would've been nice to update your holiday hours online or put a sign on the door. I live 50 miles away - Will never return here. Which is unfortunate. I was looking for a Thai food restaurant close to my area.!

We got the fajitas combo, chips and salsa, gyoza, and pad Thai. My husband and I were feeling different things so this place was perfect for that. The seasoning on the rice was amazing and my husband really enjoyed his fajitas. The pad Thai was delicious and cooked well. It came with some crab ragoons, too. The amount of food you get for the price is really wonderful as well. The service was quick (but it also wasn't very busy for a Thursday evening). If you're in the area and worried about where to eat, I do recommend this place!
