After I got certified I asked how come the class didn't include learning volume sets. I did get a student discount at $597.00. I feel I should have learned how to lash volume before receiving a certification. I asked how can you teach me volume the way her previous student learned who I was re placed with and she suggested to take her mentorship program that most places that certify teach less than what was taught. My experience, however, was disappointing in the mentorship. I observed that another student received more complete training, while I was gradually sidelined and not fully taught some of the promised techniques. During this time, I was asked to perform tasks unrelated to lashes, which offered little personal gain toward what I signed up for. I was re focused to perform professional make up which was a distraction for me while she planned to bring back another experienced lash artist then she paid advertising for more business. Attempts to ask questions or clarify expectations were met with resistance, and communication and transparency were lacking. I had been going to school and trying to get my state license. I do have extra time on tests and I disclosed my learning disability in hope she would have patience with me while in cosmetology school and studying for exams. From when I did her class separately and school in about a years time I still don't know how to do volume lashes with out pre ordered fans which is not professional devoted lash artists would dismiss teaching their students like in this case. There wasn't many customers to practice on and days spent waiting for people to walk in. I also feel it's important to clarify that I have since been told it was represented that I chose to leave the Lash Box team in the community which served her as a platform to gossip about me however, that was not my experience. I was removed. I share this to give potential mentees a clearer understanding of the mentorship structure and environment. In addition, I brought my own clients that still frequent at $180 every two weeks or less since last year into the salon and contributed to the business beyond what was provided to me through the program. I also connected her with students who signed up with her. I felt optimistic she would look after me in this way after we discussed and posted our plans publically. One client later asked me months in advance to participate in a professional on-set backstage opportunity, which was not something offered through the salon. After accepting that opportunity independently, I experienced resistance and felt this contributed to how I was treated moving forward. She tried to book this client not understanding the clients needs with another student she favored. It caused unnecessary confusion. Especially after she contacted my family after I let her know it caused unnecessary issues for me in the past. I felt disrespected.

I liked how the lashes looked at first, so I posted the review as requested and received the coupon. Unfortunately, the next morning I woke up with one swollen eye. I tried calling the salon, but the number only rang twice and didn't allow me to leave a message. The technician later called back and I told her I wanted to have the lashes removed. When I arrived, she suggested it wasn't an allergic reaction and encouraged me to keep them on. I eventually called back, still wanting them removed, but was told she had an errand and left the salon and couldn't help until the next day. When I returned the following day, I was asked to wait an hour, even though I was told I could come right in. After waiting, I was presented with a form asking me not to leave a negative review, and I was told I wouldn't receive a refund and have the lashes removed unless I signed it. When I declined, I was asked to leave. I ended up seeing a doctor who prescribed a steroid for my eye. While the technician was initially kind, the overall experience was disappointing and concerning, especially with how it was handled afterward.

I had $50 off from a first time client coupon the owner gives out. It took a long 90 minutes to apply the extensions, which is way long than it should be. There was one moment she pulled on my lashes (i don't know how considering this is an application) and i screamed and flinched. The overall application was extremely rough and i'm a regular of getting my lashes done for about six years now. She was moving very quickly and roughly, i was tense the entire time. That's the first reason i'm taking off a star, the second is because she put her cell directly next to my head on the pillow for the 90 minutes. Her phone was going off the entire time, constantly vibrating! It was so disrespectful i couldn't believe she didn't care! She was even stopping to answer text messages and tap away on the phone while my head is next to it. This experience was not right for me.
