Haven't been here in a while, but finally was on this side of town and stopped in. First off, they were packed, which is always a good sign. The service isn't going to be in and out as this isn't a large place with lots of wait staff. Expect to be here at least an hour. They have Coors on draft (nostalgia for the Mr.) and tall boy PBRs. Not your thing? Don't let that deter you bc they are one of the few places I have seen who has Old Rasputin on DRAFT. Those not familiar, this is a Russian imperial stout by North Coast Brewery out of Ft Bragg, California. Something I haven't had since... well, I lived in California. Personally, one of my favorite stouts. Beer not your thing? They have an array of specialty contrails and some solid liquor choices including buffalo trace's limited purchase bourbon (eagle rare/ blantons). Food: the Brussels, sandwiches, and salads looked amazing (neighboring patting got those). We split a few things: Brisket: nit the best I have ever had, but solid choice. Maybe not for the $, but it was fall apart brisket. Wings: these are crispy fried with sauce on the side. A little hard but good. Not my favorite. The poutine was by far a favorite with the melty cheese and the gravy was delicious. We also had the street corn and with the lime was pretty good as well. These 4 things were plenty for the 2 of us with a little extra. We didn't mind paying the extra because of the experience. I did about die of heat, but I should have put a hair the in my bag and wore a skit or just not jeans. We will definitely be back. read more

Small interior, cute and cozy. Excellent customer service, full bar, strong drinks, no watering down here, and yummy food. They offer vegan options for most of the menu which was a win for my son who enjoyed the Mike's Hot Honey Chicken sandwich-vegan version. He really enjoyed it. I had the original version of this same sandwich which was really good. My daughter in law had the brisket sandwich which was really good as well. We quickly decided to add this hidden gem to the regular rotation. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Freeman's grub and pub. We chose the spring salad with chicken and blackberries along with the chicken BLT/Rosemary fries. We thoroughly enjoyed both entrées. Emily was perfecting a specialty cocktail for the U.S. Open tennis tournament and she let us taste her recipe. It was terrific. We brought home a specialty barbecue sauce with blackberry in it - looking forward to trying that. Great service, background music and a special afternoon out. read more

Tried this place a few weeks ago and then went back again last night because it was so good! This place is unassuming but packs a punch. The staff is super nice and attentive. They are very knowledgable about the food and drinks. I am a big meat eater so I got the 3 way bbq tray and my gf got their wings and seasonal soup. Every single meat on the tray was savory and packed with flavor. The blackberry bbq sauce is my absolute favorite thing. It is a great pairing with the wings and i even dipped a few fries in from time to time. 1000000% will be back! See yall soon! read more

Always a great meal and wonderful outdoor seating! The patio has shade along the building and likely full shade in the late afternoon. As always, the food here is spectacular! You can tell it was made with love! I am a creature of habit and got the same thing I did last time. It was just so good the last time I had to do it again. This was our first time going here. They have very limited parking space. We ordered an appetizer of poutine and it was delicious. I ordered a Cuban sandwich with waffle fries. My wife ordered a brisket sandwich and a soup. Both were very good. Great waitress and a very cool atmosphere there. The wife did get a fruity beer and a salad to go. I arrived here at 7:52pm on a Saturday night to meet a friend for dinner and drinks. I arrived first. A waiter had to clean off a dirty table. It is a small space but they do have outdoor seating. I ordered a water and app wings at 7:57pm and it came at 8:07pm. The wings were crispy and delicious. I dipped it in the sauce it came with, which I also enjoyed. After a few minutes, we ordered drinks. I got the b-cubed and my friend got a margarita. It took an average amount of time to arrive. The drink was different for me, but I enjoyed it. We ordered food at 8:25pm. I got the brisket entree with regular fries and my friend for the chopped brisket sandwich with waffle fries. The food came 10 minutes later, which was quick. I, personally, didn't like the brisket sauce but the brisket itself was good. I dipped it in the bbq sauce I got with my fries. I was expecting more than 2 pieces of brisket, however. My fries were hot and fresh. The table was small and they brought my brisket and fries on a separate plate when they could've combined it. While trying to make room, a piece of brisket I cut fell on the floor. I was so disappointed because it was the end piece that was charred. The staff were attentive and friendly. We had a male and female staff that attended to us. It was a pleasurable experience and I would return. They have a small parking lot and some street parking available too. read more

Love Freeman's! Service is always top-notch! I ordered my usual--Uncle Mike's Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich--and while the flavor was spot-on, it wasn't served hot. I am a self-proclaimed, "hot food snob", so when my food is served at room temp it puts a damper on my dining experience. That said, my brussel sprouts were hot, crispy and delish, and the sweet potato hash, just as yummy!! We were seated promptly, and our food arrived quickly. Freeman's occupies one of the distinguished positions in the Top 100, so when I was looking for a lunch option on a Sunday afternoon, it was an obvious choice to try. Parking was slim but available, and first impressions were good with a cute older building. Service was friendly and prompt, and we were immediately greeted with menus and had drink orders taken. Freeman's keeps things interesting with seasonally rotating menus changing some of the featured items every few months. They also make their own infused liquors and special cocktails using them. I ordered their Ms. Frizzle cocktail which was made with Raspberry + Green Tea infused Beefeater, and it was a very tasty tangy lemonade type drink. While it was good, at $14 I thought it was a bit expensive, and I would have appreciated prices being listed on the menu rather than a surprise with the check. We started with salads, myself the Greek salad and my wife the Caesar. Both were crisp, fresh, and flavorful. They charged $4 extra to substitute the Caesar as the side with the meal, and $1 extra for the Greek as a side. I had the Bahn Mi Pork sandwich; it was a good portion and very flavorful. It was warm, with lightly toasted bread, and was filling. My wife had their special Coq au Vin flatbread and it was, in one word, disappointing. The flatbread was thin and soggy, and there was no way to eat that by hand. The flavor wasn't that good, the portion not filling, and for a $14 entree we were all around unimpressed. Overall, aside from the flatbread, the items we ordered were good and I would have them again. However, I was disappointed at how expensive the meal was. They also charge a 4% surcharge for using a card to pay, something not disclosed until you get the check. I generally dislike places with unclear pricing, so between no pricing on alcohol and adding a surcharge at the end, those were negatives. The food and atmosphere were mostly good, the service friendly, and the bar capable. Overall a good place but I don't see myself being a regular here. read more

It's a super cozy place for the colder months with their fire place but also have a great patio for the warmer months. It's bar food but elevated. Servers are always attentive and friendly. Mine was absolutely delicious and I must say the fries were the best fries I may have ever had. Each one had the perfect crunch but still soft on the inside and the brisket was tender and so juicy.
