This practice charges a $200 non-refundable "administrative fee" for doing their job. Basically, you have to pay them to do the paperwork, chart upkeep, if you want to talk to the doctor, etc. read more

I walked out of the office without seeing the doctor due to 5 reasons: 1. Wait time (Appt time: 8:45AM and was still sitting in the office till 9:30AM by watching 6 other people (who had later appointment) getting called in before me. 2. Poorly and generally written Consent Form (that had no title) that I was not comfortable signing: This Consent Form says.... "I hereby authorize Dr. Anita Kovacic, Dr. Lily Lee or Dr Betty Lee" (The doctor, Aaron Rosen whom I came to see isn't listed on this form) "to release all medical (including dental) information" (I'm at Gyno office, why would the dental information would be released?) "to the above named insurance carrier (or designated attorney) for the purpose of claim administration and evaluation, utilization review and financial audit." [(1). There is no indication of whom the "Above Named Insurance Carrier" is, or area to fill out a specific insurance carrier name. (2). Also no indication of whom this "Designated attorney" is nor why my medical information will be sent to an attorney. (3) The office couldn't answer what the utilization review was nor explain why they would release my medical information to an attorney.] "I hereby assign to Dr. Kovacic, Lee or Lee all money to which I am entitled for medical and/or surgical expense relative to the service rendered by her." (Here by assign to? Again, the doctor I came to see isn't listed on this form.) 3. Consent form for 'Patient's Responsibility for Lab Fee' was combined with the form #2 above which should've be on a separate page) 4. Consent Form for Additional Cost: (Unreasonable!) The form about how the office will charge $25 service fee for each set of forms that need to be filled out by the physician, i.e. Disability, FMLA, School Forms, etc. (Not that I need this service from this doctor's office but this cost is ridiculous as I had several forms filled out by the local doctors including Torrance Memorial doctors for a disability / FMLA / work note WITHOUT any cost. 5. Attitude of the front desk receptionist I will find another Gyno doctor's office rather than going to this doctor's office so I walked out after asking for all paperwork I filled out and left. read more

I have been going to Dr. Lee for many years. She is a professional and genuinely cares for her patients.

I have no experience with Dr. Betty Lee as a doctor. I came on yelp to find a Gynecologist. I read Dr. Lee's reviews and called to see if she was taking new patients. At first she was, than the secretary asked me who referred me. I told her I found Dr. Lee from reading the Yelp reviews. She than put me on hold to ask Dr. Lee. I was told that she is not taking new patients that aren't referred. I do not understand this. I live in the area, made an effort to find a good doctor and was rejected. read more

Dr. Lee was my doctor for pregnancy and delivery in 2015. Great experiences with office staff and hospital. She was extremely calm during the birth even with some minor complications. I would definitely recommend. read more

Called today and Betty Lee is not taking new patients (FYI for all Yelpers). A shame, and her staff didn't have any recommendations either.... feel pretty dismissed by her staff, not even an 'I'll ask the doctor, or we'll see what we can do' - just felt like they wanted to get me off the phone. I have really great insurance too! Obviously this isn't a reflection on the doctor's services, but the office staff is a huge reflection on the doctor and how you'll be treated when you go (my dad is a doctor so I am very familiar). Frustrated - she has such great reviews and I really want to go to the best doctor! But perhaps I'll take it as a sign that a better doctor is out there for me. Wish me luck! read more

Dr. Betty Lee is my obgyn who I saw throughout my entire first pregnancy and she delivered my baby in September 2011. I highly recommend her and I would refer her to my friends if they lived in the area. I live in San Pedro but work in El Segundo so I chose her since she is close to my work. I love her no-nonsense style and mannerism. Her work manner is quick and efficient so come prepared with questions to each appointment because if you don't ask, then she won't tell. I am young and healthy, but she still sent me to a paranatologist. I don't know if she does that for everyone. If I stay in the area, I will have her deliver my future children. read more

Dr. Betty Lee (not to also be confused with her sister who is the other Dr. Lee in the practice) is a great OB/GYN. She is not condescending like other doctors can be when talking about very private and sensitive issues. From what it sounds like to me, she has pretty much has seen it all, which gives her great experience across the board. I usually visit her in the Manhattan Beach office but I have also been to the Beverly Hills office (the main office) which is more crowded and busy. read more

I love Dr. Lee. I've been going to her since I was in law school and a friend recommended her. I used to go to the Wilshire location, but now that I live in the South Bay am thrilled she has a location so close to my work and home. She is always on time and efficient and is caring without being sappy. She's professional and never judgmental and always makes sure that whatever she's doing is explained thoroughly. I had Dr. Betty Lee as a pre-natal OB-GYN. Dr. Lee's staff, like others, I found to be at times polite, and at other times, not so much. My 2-star review here, though, is reflective of my experience with Dr. Lee during pregnancy. I will say that Dr. Lee is very thorough, timely, and very detail oriented. She generally will make sure that you follow up on all the advice and appointments with outside experts that she requests you to make. As a pregnant woman, I appreciated when my memory would fail me, and I found her advice to be generally on-target. The reason for my 2-star review is for the following reasons: (1) I learned later from my doula that the hospital staff says Dr. Lee favors or give episiotomies on a more regular basis than most doctors, and she had heard she was a "cutter". For those that don't know, an episiotomy is very painful procedure when they cut the woman open if the baby is considered "bigger" than normal. It takes longer to heal than a normal birth and healing is more painful. My doula says she's only seen 1 episiotomy needed in 150 births she's been present for, but knowing that Dr. Lee favors this painful and expensive procedure was cause for concern for me. I prefer natural methods... (2) In my opinion, she doesn't have very good bed side manners, which are especially important during birth. She came into the delivery room to say, "She had a vacation planned and had to leave early" so would not be present for the birth, which I was completely fine with. But she started chiding me for various reasons. Both my doula and my husband thought she was a bit out of line in the delivery room. Dr. Lee was upset because she told me 2 different estimated delivery dates, but I had given the nurses her first estimate (which was almost exactly right) instead of the second one, at Cedar's Sinai when I went in to deliver. She chided me that that date was "wrong" even though they were only 4 days apart from each other. But from what I've read online, her first estimate is more likely to be accurate! ... (3) The other reason for my 2-star review, she planned multiple appointments outside of her office, including the last week of my pregnancy. I had an appointment with her my last week of pregnancy for bloodwork and an ultrasound. She then requested me to visit 2 days later - another - doctor 45 minutes away for another ultrasound, because she said my baby was looking bigger than average. Long story short, I didnt' go, and it turns out that Dr. Lee's estimates for large baby weight were completely off anyways. When I gave birth 3 days later, yet she chided me IN THE DELIVERY ROOM for missing this appointment despite it being ultimately unneeded. Anyways, luckily gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and Dr. Voracik at Cedar's delivered me. She was great. I probably would not go to Dr. Lee again. read more

I feel funny writing this as I'm the husband, but Dr. Lee is handsdown THE BEST OB/GYN around. Great sense caring and manners. I agree that she may be straight up but also very caring. She delivered BOTH our kids and I would recommend NO ONE else who is lookign for a OB/GYN..especially pre-natal. My wife had a miscarriage also after our 1st..Dr. Lee REALLY helped her out. THE BEST! I've been with Dr. Betty Lee for quite a few years. She's straight forward but still has great bedside manner. She delivered both my kids and I've recommended her to numerous friends when they found out they were pregnant. And most important, I trust her. So much so that when it was time to deliver my second child I decided to deliver in L.A. even though we were living in San Jose. We were in the process of moving back to L.A. anyway, but before we were able to move we flew down every month for check ups during family visits. You feel pretty vulnerable during your pregnancy and delivery so it was nice to have someone you have confidence in leading the way. Since I have friends that are her patients as well, I know from our conversations that she treats us each individually and unique to our situations; she doesn't have a cookie cutter script. She's in high demand so if you can get an appointment with her take it! read more

Dr. Aaron Rosen is new the to the Lee practices(Lilly & Betty). I have been coming to this practice for years, and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. Everyone has been nice, prompt and above all very knowledgable. I recently started seeing Dr. Rosen and I could not not be happier knowing that he has joined the practice. He is so smart and above all so professional and helpful at explaining terms and procedures I know very little about. Dr. Rosen does this in a way that is not intimidating bu rather very insightful and makes me feel so happy that my care is in his hands. I have referred all my friends, colleagues and family to him as I know he takes his job as an OBGYN very seriously and that everyone I care about will be beyond satisfied with his attention to detail and genuine care for his patients. read more

Dr. Betty Lee is fantastic. With apprehension, she took me on very late in my pregnancy. She is thorough, easy to talk to, answers every question and doesn't think you're crazy for asking them. When I was forced to deliver my daughter 2 weeks early I am sooooo glad that Dr. Lee was there. My delivery was an emergency c-section and with all of my complications her voice stayed steadfast, relaxed and reassuring. It calmed me down and I was able see my daughter's face even in the height of a very precarious situation. When she came in to see me the following day, she spoke honestly with me echoing exactly the way that I was feeling during my emergency section. Of course during my surgery, she held it together like a pro and I had no idea how concerned she was. Should I get pregnant again, I will do everything in my power to have Dr. Lee as my OB. We were referred to Dr. B Lee by the head of surgical dept. at Cedars years ago. She delivered 3 babies for our family. She has seen me at my worst. Because I am over 35 we have spent a lot of time in her office and have experienced or seen every possible situation. Once I got very upset about a problem and the way Dr. Betty Lee listened respectfully was a gift to a pregnant mom. She is super professional, extremely thorough, incredibly kind and patient to a flaw. I wanted natural child births badly. I worked very hard doing everything to help this happen. My doula is on of the very best in LA. Being a less conservative mom the smart decision is to balance that out with an OB who always keeps in mind the safety of baby and mother first and natural childbirth goal second. She thinks about challenging questions respectfully and answers thoughtfully. I never felt rushed. I did have a c-section, but I wear a bikini - i have no scar - it's amazing. My doula gave in before me and supported the decision for the c-section confirming those silly fears that we did everything possible to have a natural childbirth. People love her. She has a busy schedule and I do not know how she does it. Every once in a while in life we are lucky to come in contact with a person like Dr. Betty Lee - pregnancy can be a crazy time. I have been a patient of Dr. Betty Lee for over 20 years. I was with her when she was based out of UCLA, and I followed her when she opened up her own practice. There are no words to explain what a great physician she is. I read some of the other reviews, and there is one thing I have to disagree with...She is personable, full of smiles every time I see her. She is a warm and compassionate OB/GYN. She is definitely direct, but I don't find her to be cold at all. She performed my hysterectomy 6 years ago, and I have to tell you, you wouldn't know where the scar is if you looked at my tummy. I can't even find it. LOL. She is artist as well as a top class, highly educated physician. I would follow her where ever she went, I have had many opportunities to change insurance, but didn't because she wasn't a provider. In the past I looked into it, and I don't believe you are correct. At all. You can like Dr. Lee or dislike her, I just don't think it's right to be spreading lies about her. read more

Although she could not change her diagnosis, she at least, showed that she cared. I will no longer be going to the MB practice, but I will continue to stay with her. read more

I cannot recommend Dr. Lee enough. I mean, let's be honest, going to the gyno is no one's favorite doctor's visit, but Dr. Lee is very warm and upfront and makes what is normally slightly embarrassing and a little awkward easier. She's very knowledgeable and has a good bed side manner. No, she's not cracking jokes left and right, but I found she'd usually laugh at my jokes (which is about as much as I require.) I visited her Beverly Hills location - the nurses and office staff were always nice, and if I left a message, Dr. Lee always got back to me before the end of the day. read more

Dr. Betty Lee is definitely one of The BeST in her field! I was blessed to have had her as my OB/GYN; my family had moved from San Diego to L.A. & feared the worst in getting good medical care. She was my OB/GYN through a rough cycle in life and for general checkups (2.5 years). Dr. Lee is thorough, straight-forward and caring; I always felt confident in her knowledge and procedures! I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Betty Lee. I would highly recommend her as a Gynocologist and as an OB. I had a very difficult (high risk) pregnancy with my second child and Dr. Lee was with me every step of the way. I developed a condition called polyhydramnios (excessive amniotic fluid) and Dr. Lee was very thorough but not an alarmist. She referred me to a perinatologist but was very involved in my care and made me feel at ease during an uncertain time. I always felt reassured that she was doing everything she could to ensure the safety and well being of my unborn daughter. Dr. Lee is both professional and down to earth. I felt very comfortable sharing my concerns with her and asking her a lot of questions. I went into pre term labor at 29 weeks and both Dr. Lee and my perinatologist worked together after I was discharged from the hospital to monitor me so that I could try to get as close to 39 weeks as possible. I made it to 37.6 weeks and Dr. Lee (along with her sister Lilly Lee, MD) delivered my daughter via c-section. Dr. Lee is a brilliant surgeon. My recovery was challenging because I had gained 80 lbs and ended up with diastasis recti (my abdominal wall split from the excessive amniotic fluid and second pregnancy close to the first). The polyhydramnios ended up being unexplained and fortunately my daughter is perfectly healthy. My daughter is now 2 years old and I can honestly say my c section scar is barely visible. I feel very blessed to have been cared for by Dr. Betty Lee! read more

i am looking for a gyno, and i made an appointment with dr. betty lee. i waited three weeks to see her and then i call on the day of my appointment to confirm the time, and they told me i did not have an appointment. the staff obviously made a mistake and wasnt even sorry about it. i would not recommend this doctor, until she gets a better staff read more
