Felt at home and very welcomed from the time we walked through the door. Had the mushroom Swiss burger, which was very tasty, but needed a little salt. Not a big deal. French fries were fantastic. Husband had a cup of the ham and bean soup. Said it was great after he added salt and pepper. Seems like the theme is low-salt here, but easily rectified. Flat out fantastic! From the service to the food to the feel of the old cafe/diner. All of it was wonderful. Hard to say that about many places nowadays, but this place nails it! We ordered a wide variety of breakfast foods and everyone remarked on the great taste of every dish. Price was average for this type of meal. This place was extremely busy when we got there but I understood why once we got our food. It took so long but I loved every bite. I LOVED The fried potatoes but my husband said they were too greasy. Tried this little gem while in town one weekend. It's a small place but the breakfast I had was really good. I only had the biscuits and gravy, bacon and scrambled eggs, but the biscuits were some of the best I've ever had. Honestly that's saying something!! They were busy but got in within 10 minutes. Waitress was on top of it with refills and anything else we needed. Stick around Betty's we'll be back when we come back to Vernal, UT!! read more

A converted fast food restaurant, Betty's Cafe has redecorated to reflect a more down home look, but have maintained the drive through window. Very convenient in a time of pandemic. It's pretty standard fare but the selling point is that it is homemade. Even the croutons are home made. I had the Betty burger and my husband had the patty melt. Both were delicious but the highest point were the onion rings. Desserts are home made as well though we really didn't have room for any. read more

Thought of this joint a year after our trip, and came back to yelp to leave this review. We stopped in after a few days of camping along the gorge. We both ordered the country fried steak and it was literally the freshest and best tasting we've ever had. The gravy was delish! This place makes its own jam/jelly so be sure to try it. I love this place! Everything I've had here is the definition of comfort food - seriously you can't go wrong. Best breakfast in town; huge portions for a great price so come hungry! I had the French toast with the ham (the ham is huge and delicious!) husband had the hubby had the Betty's Omelet. The New York in me just really wanted a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich as we were road tripping from Park City to CO (the first big stretch was NY- WY). My whining for a breakfast sandwich paid off because as soon as we saw the sign for Betty's, I put my blinker on and pulled in and WOAH. We waited about 15/20 for a to go order, which is perfectly fine with us. We wish we had enough time to actually sit down and enjoy our delicious food that the cozy atmosphere Betty's has. My sandwich was absolutely delicious. Growing up in Jersey it's hard to find diners/eating establishments that fulfill that 24/7diner craving. This did that but with even more of a homemade, heartfelt feeling. It's obvious that this is also a locals place, they can pick you out pretty quick. But it's delicious and worth it! Also- my bf got the breakfast burrito and ate it so fast he forgot to let me grab a bite to enjoy it with him, so that's how good it is. PS: if you need a Rocky Mountain hangover fix this is it. We chose this place for breakfast based on the reviews here and it's one of the only times Yelpers have steered us wrong. - Yeah, you can seat yourself at an unbussed table. But expect dirty looks from the waitstaff and to be ignored. - The waitress said she'd be by to pick up our order. She did take our menus on her next go-by. But then made us wait to order for another 5 minutes. The topper was when she was visibly annoyed that by then I had forgotten the name of what I wanted. - Yeah, they have biscuits and gravy. Dense hunks of bread covered in gravy so aggressively bland that salt and pepper does nothing to help it along. - However, excellent bacon! Perfectly cooked, thick strips. We should have left after being ignored and not being allowed to have so much as water for the first ten minutes. Believe me, we won't be making the mistake of going to Betty's on the return drive. read more
