I had been procrastinating for months, but when I discovered this place was so close by and affordable, I finally went. I'm sure glad I did. I came in looking for a smog check and was told my catalytic converter needed to be warmed up by driving more (I received a NOT READY status). I did 30 mins on the freeway and was told again that I needed to drive even more to warm the cat up. After almost 100 miles of freeway driving and hours of my time the technician told me I needed to drive even MORE and that was the only way the car would pass. Obviously this is very unusual and when I asked if something could be wrong with the car he said I just needed to drive more. After this he got frustrated with me told me he "gave up" and that if I went to get a second opinion from someone else they would just tell me the same thing... he stormed back inside and I never saw him again. Luckily I did NOT take his advice this time and I went to another location and after a 30 minute assessment and a quick 10 mile drive the technician diagnosed an issue with a part, fixed it and passed me for $45. Saved me another few hours of driving and another 100 miles on my car had I listened to the guy at Beverly Hills Smog. Quick and easy as this process should be. The job at this smog check was ultimately not finished and I never received any further advice on what might be wrong with the car that one would expect from a professional at a shop like this much less an offer for a refund considering I never even got a proper pass/fail. There are plenty of places around with this rate, I would recommend choosing another spot to go to who can give you real, useful advice in the case that something is actually wrong with your car. read more

I had gone to another smog test center and my car didn't pass. They told me that I needed to drive 200 miles to get the computer to reset because there was an OBD error. I did the mileage and went back three times, and they kept telling me that I need to drive it in order to get the reset. My mechanic checked and did not get that error. He suggested I go to Beverly Hills Smog. Mehrdad connected the ODB and took a reading. Then he connected to the his computer to run the test. Passed on the first try. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. The price was less expensive than any of the other testing centers. Even with their coupon offers.
