So I show up after work. The first thing is that he is on the computer watching a video. He tells me to wait while he continues to watch the video. So I wait. I then confirm the price would be what he told me. He then tells me that his price is a different price than what he told me over the phone. I would avoid this place because they dont honor their price and they clearly dont value customers if they're telling customers to wait so they finish watching a video.

This is a father-and-son-owned shop, and you can tell they take pride in doing things the right way. The photos I've posted show the old exhaust parts that were cut and removed, the replacement components, and the finished install underneath the vehicle. Everything was fitted cleanly and solidly--no shortcuts, no sloppy work. They replaced my muffler and repaired the damaged section from the theft in just a little over an hour, which honestly exceeded my expectations. The car sounds right, drives smoothly, and feels properly repaired--not patched together. What I appreciated most was their honesty and efficiency. They explained what needed to be done, got straight to work, and delivered exactly what they promised. In a time when catalytic converter theft is unfortunately common, it's a relief to find a shop you can trust. If you're dealing with exhaust damage or catalytic theft, I highly recommend Izzy Mufflers and Brakes. Solid workmanship, fair pricing, and genuinely good people.

My co-workers referred me to La Brea Test only to get my smog check. When it comes to cars and mechanics I have no idea what to do. When I drove up to the location I was welcomed and all of my questions got answered about smog checks. He explained to me the costs of the smog check and nothing was hidden. I should be ashamed to say this but my credit card got declined errrrrrrrrrrr. I was short on cash and had to rush back to work. I couldn't afford to stop by the bank. The owner was reasonable enough to allow me to come back and pay him the next day. Honestly before going to the location for my smog check I checked online and saw some bad reviews but I trusted my co-workers more then the reviews. I asked the owner why he has bad reviews and he explained that some people fail the smog check and they think it's his fault. I would recommend my close ones to La Brea Test Only. read more

Efficient - I did have to wait for 2 cars in front of me, but went fairly fast. I had a note which I wrote on a post it saying: $40.00/Yelp & attached to my Renewal Notice. He honored it without my having to ask. Helpful tip is to enter via driveway on Lexington & then your car exits on La Brea. First come, first serve. Fyi - they didn't try to sell any other service & not all that talkative (but was pleasant- he just got it done & logged it into the system. I drove home, logged on to my computer & paid the Renewal Notice online. So all in all, relatively painless. read more

Fast, friendly, easy. Only bad thing was, they quoted $50 over the phone, but when I got there and told them I had the 10$ off coupon, they said the original price was 60 so it brought it down to 50 (which would be original price without a discount) so that's kinda weird. I saw another review that said the same thing, so I'm not sure what the inconsistency is. If the price is 60, just tell people 60. Wasn't a huge deal to me cause most other places I called around to were 50$. Be honest is all. Other than that, easy experience. read more

STAY AWAY!! The guy at this place gave me a really hard time about pricing, basically wanted to haggle about it like a third world country. Then he gave me an even harder time about using the checkin deal on Yelp. RED FLAGS! Guess what? This place failed to send in my smog report, and now, months later no registration renewal in the mail, no smog check on file, and ticket for failing to have my registration. Good service, pretty short line on entrance, affordable prices without hidden rocks. Service was fast and smooth, there's a comfortable wait zone for customers, they even offered some coffee. Convenient drive ways, so you don't have to sneak from traffic officers, I think it's pretty good place to do your smoke check. read more
