I can get appointments quickly when needed, and communication is quick over email and text. Dr. Woo and the staff were really kind and compassionate when we had to euthanize our dog recently. Dr. Woo has been our vet for the last few years, and I have been very happy with her care. Both of our dogs are now elderly, and they seem to end up at Beverly Pet Clinic every few months, for one reason or another. Dr. Woo always sees them, often on pretty short notice. The clinic is top tier on the admin side of things, always friendly, responsive, and easy to deal with. I like that I can just text them when I need something, and that they pick up the phone without sending me through a maze of automated responses. Prescriptions come through immediately, and appointments are never hard to make. Dr. Woo is a wonderful vet, kind and professional with an obvious love of animals. She knows Duke and Milo well, and offers them excellent care and the warm familiarity of a family doctor. She's in the business of making money, with a long menu of tests and treatments for us to choose from each visit, but she's good about telling us which ones are necessary and which are only suggestions. She also spent a solid twenty minutes on the phone with me the other week, when Milo nipped our two-year-old and I was in desperate need of advice. No charge for that. Just the measured, compassionate care of a vet who knows me and my dog. Duke is 14 and Milo is 10, so I know we're looking down a few difficult years as dog parents. Always enjoy my time coming to see Dr. Woo - although its upsetting to be needing to visit her. Regardless, making appointments are very easy with her super staff team Dr. Woo's thorough examination, detailed explanation and suggestions are always appreciated. Can't thank her team enough! Unlike some vets, and even people doctors, she is always SUGGESTIVE with her treatment plan and transparent regarding the cost. I feel comfortable giving her staff a call to easily obtain treatment/examination costs prior to my visit. This way I can always walk in without any scares regarding costs. When my baby cat had eye discharge problems, Dr, Woo gave her a good examination and suggested a few tests. However, it was bit expensive for me at the time and I was able to easily decline without an issue. A few months later, the same issue re-occurred, and because this is a reoccurring issue, she again suggested the test. I was able to think about it and agree to this test. I think all pet owners know that medical care for your pet is expensive. But I think of it as I am paying premium for my cat that couldn't tell me she was sick. I had an appointment for my dog on Monday but needed to reschedule. I texted them on Friday to reschedule--no response. I contacted them again on Saturday--still no response. Then, on Monday, they called me because I didn't show up for my appointment. I told them I had called and texted, but they claimed they never received anything. Despite this, they told me I had to pay a no-show fee. From the beginning, I didn't like Dr. Woo. I took my dog to see her once for itching and diarrhea. While explaining the treatment, she said, "I will GIVE one medication for diarrhea and a cone to wear, and she should be okay." Since she used the word "give," I assumed the medication and cone were included in the visit. However, after the exam, the receptionist handed me a receipt, and I was charged for every single item. If she had said, "I recommend using this" or "I will prescribe this," I would have known there were additional charges. It felt like a scam. Another time, I brought my older dog in. Dr. Woo recommended further examination, which was very expensive. I had already taken my dog to urgent care a month prior and completed all the necessary tests, so I didn't think it was necessary to repeat them so soon. When I told her I preferred to wait a little longer, her facial expression suddenly turned cold, and she walked out of the room without another word. I never really liked this place from the start, but I didn't want to keep switching vets for my dogs. However, after multiple bad experiences, I will not be returning. On top of everything, my dog had an exam with Dr. Woo six months ago, and I recently tried to order a refill for my dog's medication through Chewy. I was hoping to find a new vet for my two dogs (14 & 2), because their long-time veterinarian retired and closed his practice (Larchmont Animal Clinic). It was my first time going to Beverly Pet, and I accidentally went to the wrong clinic- Beverly Animal- on the same street. My fault. I called them and told them what happened and I was on my way, but they said I'd be charged ANOTHER $75 and would have to take my place as a walk-in client. I had an appointment and had already paid them $150 (2x $75 for my two dogs). This is required before they will even see you. So, understandably, I lost my $75 "deposit" for the appointment I was going to be late for. My fault. No problem. But then I asked for a refund of the second $75 deposit I had already paid for Gracie- an appointment we had not even booked yet. THE VET SAID I COULD TAKE IT UP WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. I told her she could keep her money. Her website says, "I'll treat your pet like my own". Well, I really feel sorry for her pets , if she even has any. I made an appointment to get a Pet Travel Certificate. Dr. Woo doesn't know what the airline requires for my dog to travel in cargo, but insisted that she did know. She was wrong. She debated with me for 30 mins, even after I showed her exactly what I got from my previous veterinarian. Dr. Woo completely ignored my experiences traveling with my dogs and clear facts on what documents are required. She insisted that I get a California Department of Food and Agriculture certificate. This cost me $200 and was completely unnecessary. I checked with my airline online and with customer service agent for double confirmation. Alaska Airlines DOES require a letter from the Veterinarian and DOES NOT require a certificate from California Department of Food and Agriculture. See actual requirements below. Because Dr. Woo does not know the requirements and refused to listen to me, I am out $200 for nothing. I will never come back to Dr. Woo. Dr. Woo is my vet and have nothing but good things to say. Her staff are amazing and have been nothing but kind to my dog. We had a scare with our soon to be 3 year old Samoyed. We had taken him in initially for a what seemed to be Kennel Cough but after subsequent blood tests, it was clear his liver was not performing. It was a harrowing three weeks of treatments but Dr. Woo was consistently on top of his treatment. Our pups liver enzyme values were off the charts. ALT enzyme levels exceeding 3500. He was not eating and extremely lethargic. After daily checkins with Dr. Woo and consistent monitoring, her and her team treated our pup with daily IV treatments to support his liver and pretty much saved our pups life. Brought my dog here last year and from the very beginning, I was not informed of extra charges and things that insurance would not cover. They also don't inform you that you can get your prescriptions for your pets on chewy. When I found and asked for the prescription to be approved, it never did. I'm moving to Hawaii and asked for interstate health certificate to which I was estimated a $275 charge. I called the Hawaii department of agriculture and they informed us it should not cost more than $100. I went to a vet near my parents and got it for $70! They offer no prices adjustments even when you show lower prices elsewhere. They are not an adaptive clinic and refuse to flex on their prices. I have been meaning to write this review for a while but have waited to see if there's improvement. Based on the reviews below I'm not the only one. The owner here rips clients off and takes advantage. She pushes you to buy what they have or what they're sponsored to sell. I've been overcharged every visit for exams and "tests" that the owner knowingly knew I didn t need just so she could boost her sales. She exaggerates diagnoses or uses terms to make you worry and spend more. It's almost like you're gaslighted as a client. This is no way to keep your business open and earn clients trust with their pets. Horrible service, care, bedside manner, communication, and fees. Would HIGHLY recommend you go elsewhere. Vet doesn't even know what breed of animal I have, consistently tries to up-charge, and is extremely rude and arrogant. Some areas of concern: 1) major price gouging examples: shots, prescription meds, animal travel docs (beverly pet charges $250 actual charges should be ~$100), when you sign up for the puppy package it comes with freebies but they "forget" about your package and charge you anyways for the "freebies" unless you catch them and call them out, exams that cost $26 elsewhere are over $100 here 2) over vaccinating your animal (they will literally give them every single vaccination known to man to make a quick buck all the while up charging) 3) horrible bedside manner, Dr. Woo is extremely rude and displays limited knowledge in her field (the university she attended is globally ranked #651 out of 700) seriously google it this is the bottom 7% do you want to trust this type of licensure for your beloved animal?! if you graduate top of class from a garbage university what's the degree even worth? 4) I have spent thousands of dollars here in the ~ 2 years I've been coming and they really take advantage of you making you think certain things are medically necessary and using "health concerns" and scare tactics to get you to pay their exorbitant fees, it's wild ... even after those 2 years the "Dr." still doesn't know what breed of animal I have ... 5) don't believe the 4 star rating (check the reviews and filter to "newest first" and you'll see 9/10 are 1 star reviews for the last couple years ... yikes read more

Unfortunately, I now understand all of the 1 star reviews. I have been a loyal customer to Beverly Pet Clinic for over two years now and I recently switched pet insurance carriers, so my dog has a pre-existing condition of dermatitis. My insurance denied my dog's ear infection claim from a month ago so I requested if Dr. Woo would be able to provide clarification if the diagnosis was not related to her pre-existing condition (to file an appeal requires additional clarification of diagnosis from the vet and vet signature). First off, she has a $100 signing fee and secondly, she charges $79 for an "office visit" in addition to the signing fee. Why would I need to bring my dog in a month later? My dog's SOAP notes explicitly state a diagnosis and I was simply asking for clarification if the two were correlated or not to see if the additional $179 charge was worth spending to file the appeal in the first place. Dr. Woo's staff kept circling around my request and said it was up to my pet insurance to make the final determination. I would certainly hope that my pet's DOCTOR would able to confirm. They were not accommodating whatsoever and it felt like they kept making excuses as to why they could not help me. They lost a loyal customer and my dog will not be returning. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Would give 0 stars if I could. I have been coming here since I moved to LA. Just recently I went in for an annual visit and shots for both my dogs. A few days later my dog started getting a yellow discharge from his eye, so I called them and they said to send pictures via text of my dogs eye. I sent the images and they told me he would need to come in for another exam. I expressed that I was just in for an exam days ago and would like a medication sent over rather than being charged for another visit. It turns out they blocked my number. I had to call from my work phone to get in contact with them. They claimed they received no messages from me. My dog has an eye infection and all they are concerned about is getting me in for another exam so they can collect money, after I just spent $300 and my friend that I referred had spent thousands there. Its clear they do no truly care about the dogs as long as they are getting paid. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL . And to UPDATE, I walked in to the clinic today to see Dr. Woo in person since she never responded to my emails, and she completely dismissed me. She said she did not want to provide me any more services because I did not listen to their recommendations and did not want to pay for another visit. When I went in for my original visit with another doctor, he said my dog needed a non-anesthetic dental cleaning, just as he did last year. When I tried scheduling this Dr. Woo didn't allow me to book it and said he needed the anesthetic cleaning. I wonder why... probably because it's 3x the price $$$$$. If you or your pet is going through a health problem please read: Beverly pet clinic is the middle of the line. If you aren't having any issues with your pets and need a vaccination or routine checkup this would be a decent place. However, my cat has been going through some problems and we've tried multiple treatments at this clinic with no improvement over the course of an entire year. I've moved to a different vet and I can tell an immediate difference in the receptionists and vet care. Every time I came to Beverly clinic it felt like they did not take notes or remember who I was or the problems my fur baby had. I had to remind them every single time the problems he was going through and the symptoms he was exhibiting. I have 3 dogs and have been to at least 10 different veterinary office all over LA. After reading the positive reviews for this office, I decided to bring my baby Penelope in due to irritation on her skin. Dr. Knew exactly what was wrong (after another Dr. misdiagnosed our dog). After her recommendations my puppy was all better. About 6 months later, same dog had what I thought was an ear infection. This office was able to get us seen right away and confirmed that it was indeed an ear infection. Dr. Prescribed some ear drops and My doggie is on her way to feeling better. I've had good experiences at this vet for my cats, especially because it allows same day appointments with an extra fee. That's super useful if, for example, you find an emaciated kitten wandering around your neighborhood at 1pm on a weekday. The criticism of this vet for upselling is fair, but also possibly overstated. i can't speak to anyone else's experiences, but i have been offered lots of recommended services that aren't strictly essential. but i've also never had a problem when i politely decline those extra services and explain "oh this isn't in our budget, but we will do these essential tests." Overall, I think this is an above average vet for its price and area. it's hard for me as a customer to rate the quality of medical care, but I think I've received good basic care. More expensive vets will do a more thorough diagnosis, but then you're also paying more, and they'll probably refer you to specialists for anything remotely unusual. that's just how medical care seems to work these days. another plus is that this vet will do procedures in-house that some other clinics refer to specialists- that can save time and money. i think with any medical provider, it's always good to be your own advocate and to do your research before bringing your pet to a provider. at this vet, just go in educated, and politely decline the additional services, and stick with basic care, and i think you'll have a good experience. read more

We just adopted our sweet boy Smudge and took him here for his first wellness check. He's under a year old and hasn't been socialized much so is very fearful -- Dr. Woo and ALL techs and staff were so kind and patient with him, it was really touching. The facilities and equipment are state of the art and very clean. You can tell that people who work here care about the animals and enjoy their work. I was pretty nervous bringing such a scaredy cat puppy to the vet on my own, but everyone was so understanding and really made us feel supported. Dr. Woo immediately diagnosed some mystery skin conditions that were plaguing Smudge, and he is already improving after a few days of treatment. You can tell he feels relief and has been able to play happily and sleep soundly. They were even patient with some of my panicked calls with questions about medication after we left. Been coming to this vet for quite some time and they're always just okay. They're quick to make an appointment, and I usually don't have issues when I go. I've seen multiple vets here, but Dr Woo always tries to upsell and guilt us into buying things we don't need. Each time I see her, the first 5 minutes of the visit is going through a checklist of things she wants us to purchase -- everything from their sponsored dog food to anxiety meds for my animals. I never said my dog was anxious, so why are you as a licensed veterinarian trying to push medication? She tries to make you feel bad for refusing all of these add ons when you're just there for a yearly vaccine. Meanwhile their "exam" is just poking and prodding at your dog for 2 minutes, tops. Never seen her really checking eyes, ears, teeth, anything important. Other vets we've seen here have been good, but every time I go I hope for someone other Dr Woo. Honestly will probably end up finding a new vet, because they've never really gone above and beyond enough for me to remain a loyal patient. read more

We had an amazing first time experience at this new pet clinic with my 8 year old kitty. The staff was super-super friendly, and the doctor was amazing!!! They all helped us in every possible way! The doctor listened to us and my cat's symptoms and she walked us through every possibility. She gave us so much advice that will help us so much in the future! We got a great exam and care and our cat will have less problems in the future thanks to them. My 3 pets are loyal patients of Dr. Woo and her staff! I've been coming here since 2020 and Dr. Woo's been nothing but amazing to my fur babies. She's kind, patient, empathetic. She is also very direct with communication, which I highly respect and value. If I decline any suggested service/tests/products that are not mandatory, she respects my decisions. The services/products are well priced & competitive for LA! She also saved my dog Teddy's life in 2021. He was badly injured from getting attacked & lock jawed by a huge pit, and she took him in right away to perform a successful surgery. She gave me in depth detail of the x rays & what was going to be done in surgery along with post-op treatments. Dr and her staff took amazing care of him post surgery & follow up appointments as well. He had a successful recovery and is completely healthy! I can't thank them enough!!
