Dr Nassi and his staff are wonderful. The entire vibe of the place is so calm. Extremely clean and new. Everyone is nice. They do not over schedule appointments so there is minimal wait time. Easy parking. Fair prices (compared to my prior vet that is managed by a big company). This is what a neighborhood vet should be! Perfect.

I love this clinic. The staff are all Amazing and Dr. Nassi is very kind and informative. I've been bringing my dog here for 4 years. She's very anxious with strangers and everytime it's been a smooth experience. I love how well they keep track on which vaccinations are due and send text reminders which I find very helpful. They always go over the pricing before services so you know what to expect. Also after each vaccine or surgery/treatment they go over with the follow up instructions in person as well as a printed form so you are sure what to do or what to keep an eye out for. Bonus is that the staff is very diverse.

Here's my kitty all happy after getting good medical attention

My cat has allergies so he needs steroid shots every 6 weeks. Originally, I called a company , a mobile pet unit, of which 2 big women were very nasty to me and handled my cat not in a fun way. Then had the nerve to charge me $600. So this week, I found Beverly Robertson Veterinarian Clinic and they charged me $147 for the exam and the shot. I am amazed and so happy. My cat is happy everybody's happy, plus as an added bonus. When he needs his shots every 6 weeks I can just take him in for $65 and a technician will give him the shot. This is by far wonderful. I am a hair. Dresser, and I'm telling all my clients with pets to go there. By the way, the shot worked beautifully in a few days. He's totally cleared up and very happy. Running around eating etc et cetera.

This is the email I received from the vet clinic after requesting a refund. This is a very unprofessional place.

I used to be grateful for this place because they felt attentive, at least in January of 2023. But the last three visits, I have had some issues with how the place operates: the front desk staff, particularly the women are very rude and lack customer service skills. One was wearing a hoodie while greeting customers and rolled her eyes regularly. You have to wonder does everyone have their credentials to be there? Secondly, they have gotten very expensive. The price of the exam itself is $75.00! A ear infection with the cleaning solution and ointment was about 200 in total. Lastly, their diagnosis is not always spot on. They treated my dog's skin condition with a $90 allergy injection and it didn't work - I feel that they do not solve the problem to make it better but for you to keep coming in. Overall, the place is clean, but it's hard to get an appointment and it's empty! I do not believe the customers are as happy as it appears. I wouldn't recommend this place unless they change their staff and change their prices. I would also like to add he is paying for people to review this place positively in response to negative reviews. This place has very questionable practices.

Honestly, I did not have high expectations for this vet. I do not know the area too well but by driving around, it doesn't look like an area I would be frequenting. I assumed the inside of this place would be like a run down county clinic deep in the trenches of Los Angeles. Which I've had my fair share of experiencing back in the days. I was so wrong! This place is so awesome. The girls at the front desk are so sweet and attentive! I had a lot of questions every visit, I never had a puppy before and I was really anxious about making sure she was healthy. They always answered everything very patiently and had the best attitude. Since I do not live close I would have to call over the phone for vaccination records to enroll my puppy into classes etc and I even changed her name and they'd always answer my calls and email over anything I needed. The customer service has been exceptional. I would come here simply for that alone. They decorated the office so nice, it looks newly remodeled. The waiting lobby is small but comfy. They do not push for any specific food brands which is refreshing. They always call to remind you of an appointment. The people and their dogs that I've seen here all are very friendly and it looks like everyone comes for routine and not because their dogs are sick. I love that! The prices are fair, they're not low by any means but they're not outrageous. I find them to be decent for the services. I really appreciate the care they provided for my girl, she was here quite a few times due to being a puppy. We now go to a place closer to home because I don't live in Los Angeles. It's honestly the only reason. But I highly recommend this place to anyone in LA looking for a good vet!

Recently brought one of our dogs here for a serious issue. We never even saw the doctor, only spoke to them through a phone call even though we were at the office. After speaking to the doctor, the assistant presented the estimate very matter of factly. We declined one of the procedures. 3 hours later when it was time to pay they tried to charge us for the declined service even though it clearly was written on the estimate that it was declined. The absolute worse part is that after coming home, our other dog developed the same symptoms as our dog we had brought in. We called them back and asked to speak to the doctor for counsel. They had no idea who the doctor was. Finally we were told the doctor would call us back. We never received a call and our other dog passed away that night. Obviously we were gutted and when we took our deceased dog in for afterlife care the next day, the receptionist just shoves the brochure at us and gives us prices. Not even a simple sorry or modicum of concern. They dont care about your pets. I write this because I dont want someone else to potentially feel the pain we feel for waiting for these folks to call you back and having something horrible happen.

Finn is extremely shy and particular, and giving him fluids at home just isn't an option. We also made the intentional choice not to associate his one safe space, home, with anything painful. At the clinic, it sometimes takes three nurses to support him, one to gently hold him, one to feed him churro (his favorite distraction), and one to administer fluids. And they do it all with so much patience, compassion, and genuine care. Because of this team, Finn is not only stable, he's doing so well. Truly, I believe they've saved his life. Because I had to go to work/could not cancel, I opted to do the day after. The estimate at MASH is $6,000-8,000 but here it was around $4500. I dropped my cat off early on Wednesday for his check-up, test, and surgery. Ultimately, they disagreed with the vets at MASH and said my cat had no crystals either in x-ray or in his urinalysis but did have a UTI which contributed to a second blockage (bladder overflow). They kept him for 48-hours to unblock and recover. This cost around $2K. At MASH where he had done the same 2 days earlier, it was $6K When MASH returned my cat, he was rough. He reeked of pee, his face was completely crusted/sticky with dried medicine, his fur was full of shed, and he was lethargic and in pain despite all the medicines. When Affordable returned him, my cat was bright and energetic. They clearly took care of him (he smelled like a baby wipe). It has been about a week since I brought him home, but I knew immediately that he was feeling better the day I picked him up. Now, he has completely recovered. Back to flinging himself around and meowing at 4 am. I am incredibly grateful to this hospital for their responsiveness, flexibility, affordability, and the kindness they showed my cat. I was worried that I would end up losing my cat (I had paid nearly $7K at MASH and he wasn't better) if he blocked again, but Dr. Barrera said that I should "give my cat a chance." He said that it is what he would do if it were his cat. I'm grateful that I did because it saved him from unnecessary surgeries. My cat was seen by Dr. Forsythe and Dr. Barrera and they both were very kind and gentle with him. I do see what some reviews mean about their disorganization. They forgot to call me to update me that he wasn't getting the surgery but would need to be hospitalized. I had to call them, but it turned out that Dr. Forsythe had gotten very sick. He returned my call despite being audibly quite sick and given that my cat needed the hospitalization anyways (and he was fine), I can see how it slipped through the cracks. They seem to accommodate all kinds of emergencies as best as they can, so I think a little disorganization is totally ok. I do think Dr. Forsythe needs a new phone. It sounded like he was calling from a remote cabin or from a phone that fell off a cliff. I had to listen to the voicemail at max volume more than once. I will likely return again/switch my primary vet to this one because it is closer, cheaper, and I had a great experience. And apparently, my shy scaredy cat enjoyed the attention he received here. There are some more "affordable" vets but in terms of quality/expertise, this hospital is well worth the price. When I called around to vets in Los Angeles for cystotomy prices, Ambassador Dog & Cat Hospital were the only ones that actually do it (many don't update their sites) that are near me (don't have a car) and their estimated price was also the same $4500. They are also roughly the same prices of my long-time vet (Beverly Robertson, wonderful, estimated $4K for procedure) and especially after going to MASH, these prices might as well be pennies. CareCredit is accepted basically everywhere, but what's nice about this hospital is that they accept ScratchPay which is a god send for emergency vet loans. This hospital is in an old building, but is still very nice and clean. Maybe not as sparkling as a brand new facility, but on par with the vets I've gone to over my lifetime.

They took the time to thoroughly examine him, explain everything clearly, and answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed or pressured. Finally we took our dog to another vet to get a second opinion and they undeniably confirmed it was a ligament tear. We went back a second time to Rivers and had our first and last visit with Dr. Acosta. I don't say this as an exaggeration - Dr. Acosta was rude and confrontational the entire visit. When I tried to calm her anger and explain to the best of my ability what's going on with my dog's leg, she belittled and attacked me for not knowing the medical condition of my dog. I'm not a vet and I never claimed and somehow I was attacked for her it. It was clear the visit was about her ego and nothing else. Never in my 40 years of healthcare visits, human or animal, have I witnessed something like this. Let me make it clear that the rest of the staff was absolutely wonderful: both empathetic and professional. However with both Sergio and Acosta, this place is dangerous. I am also reporting Sergio to the California Veterinary Medical Board. I hope for the sake of Rivers and their staff, and all pet owners, that these two are removed.

This used to be a really good vet office, and the staff are generally friendly. The main reason I…read morekept coming back was because of the vet techs, they always made it feel like they genuinely cared about my dog. Even though the wait time could sometimes be over an hour just to see the doctor, I was willing to overlook it and continued bringing my dog here. However, my most recent experience completely changed my mind, which is why I'm leaving a one-star review. My dog's immunotherapy ended on 12/8/25. Since it was his last type c bottle and his allergies were still coming back, I gave the office a heads-up and asked whether the treatment should be extended. Sergio told me he would contact the lab to find out the next steps and get back to me. After two weeks with no response, I followed up and was told again that he would check with the lab. I tried to be understanding because it was the holiday season and the clinic seemed very busy. But after that, I followed up again in January and February. Each time, the vet techs told me Sergio would call me back with an update. Unfortunately, I never received a single call back. Now my dog's allergies have returned and I was never given any plan of action or guidance. After three months of trying to follow up, I've decided not to return to this clinic. It's extremely frustrating to feel ignored when you're trying to get help for your pet. From my experience, this office may be fine for general check-ups. However, I would be cautious about bringing your pet here if they have a more specific or ongoing medical issue. I understand that Sergio may be busy managing many patients, but three months without any follow-up is simply unacceptable.
