I placed an online order for pickup and after Receiving an email saying the order was ready headed to the store. When I arrived I seen a small line some people wearing masks and others without. I myself did not have a mask but assumed it was OK since there was a table set up at the door and no one was going in to the store just picking up their online orders. When I got to those front a young man told me he wouldn't give me my order since I didn't have a mask. I told him I literally watched multiple women and men without masks pickup their order without a problem. He hesitated And told me it's not just the store policy but the law and other stores are doing it also. I felt discriminated against because I was within earshot of these people before me walking in and getting their order without masks I was adamant about getting my order. After stating this 2-3 times he finally went inside to get my beer. I left so upset but not defeated because I stood up for myself and spoke up. I will wear a mask for future pickups but will not return to this location at any point. There was a very nice lady i spoke to twice on the phone. So I know there are some helpful and kind employees but still wouldn't return. read more

Three people walked out of here with Hoegarden six packs while I was there and I was only there for 8 minutes. Nothing against Hoegarden, I like drinking out of hexagon glasses as much as the next guy, I was just confused. I asked my cousin who lives in Santa Clarita about it and he said he'd never heard of Hoegarden. I wasn't surprised, he's 36 and only drinks coors light cans, which is fine too because I've been making the same silver bullet joke every time I see him, going on seven years now. He takes out a can, and I say "Silver bullet" real loud when he opens it. It's not even a joke, or funny. I just said it once after I hadn't seen him in 15 years and kept saying it. Today my girlfriend and I decided to visit Bevmo and do a little wine shopping. We spent about 10 minutes looking for a wine from Washington with no help being offered by any alcoholic specialist,but that's ok. After searching for a bit we settled on a rose wine and merlot that looked to be delicious and pleasing on a Sunday. Now after being in bevmo for about 20 minutes searching we had the gold and both walked it to the check out counter. I never let my girlfriend pay as I feel it is un-gentlemen like. I set my merlot bottle on the counter and she set the rose wine on the counter and the check out girl without greeting us or asking if we found everything ok QUICKLY AND FIRMLY Asked to see both our Identification Cards..... I pulled my card out and debit card ready to check out and she insisted for my girlfriend who was having a hard time finding it. The cashier asked for my bevmo club number which I gave and it pulled up and added a discount BUT she said I can not complete this order unless I see her ID. My girlfriend told her I don't have it as I left my purse at home in LOMITA. I asked then how can you not sell me these items as she "my girlfriend" is not paying for them and I am clearly of age. The female sales clerk responded with (She Touched The Botttle ) . I then asked if there was a child and parent situation were the child touched the bottle do you deny the sale? The clerk responded with they are their guardian and then rudely added " are you her guardian? I just wanted to know if they sold personal sized New Amsterdam Peach and I know, now, that bev mo doesn't sell it. I'm embarrassed at how someone could talk to a customer the way she did because I, too, work in retail. Me and my mom were looking through and found coconut rum, Jack Daniels, etc. I'm not a huge drinker, but the packaging of the mini bottles made me want to buy some. Went to BevMo around the second week of June. I purchased two mini bottles of a Cafe Liquor (I frequent the Palmdale BevMo which I have no problems with, they are friendly and normal humans). I stopped at the Santa Clarita location because we were in the area for ice cream. I wait in line, two people were ahead of me. Next, I'm up to purchase my two mini bottles. The cashier asks to see my ID. I thought "That's odd. Maybe I look like I'm 12 or something. He's doing his job, no problem." I take out my ID and hold it up for him. He takes my ID looks at me nervously and quickly scans my ID into a machine. The beep was obnoxiously loud; like I jumped, it scared me. Perplexed, I asked, "Why did you scan my drivers license?! What is that machine?" He gets nervous and can't give me an answer. I told him he had no right to scan my ID without my permission. There was no warning. There are no visible signs, no notification anywhere about scanning IDs. Furthermore he did not scan the IDs of the other customers ahead of me. The cashier stood looking stupid. Later that evening my husband calls and asks for the store manager to inquire further. The manager admitted that it was unusual for a cashier to scan anyone's ID but that they could if the wanted to, to verify the ID. With all of the seals and crypto colors, you mean to tell me that there is still a need to scan my ID to verify it. Now I'm concerned about identity theft. Ever since the scanning of my ID, I have received all sorts of strange calls about vacations and employment (I am 20 years into a career I love). I had not received such calls prior. BevMo scans your ID into their machine, reads (steals) all of your information and sells it to a third party without your consent. I am upset. Now that things have slowed down, I will get to the bottom of this. Not letting this go. read more

He had no customer service at all and is very unprofessional. I just got my mini fridge set up and I was all ready to lock and load it with drinks. I don't drink often so this is actually my first authentic liquor store. Gas stations or 711 don't cut the cheese because I feel like they're more of a mini-mart. At first I thought I would get judged because I look very young and I've been told I look like I'm 16 or 17, mind you that I'm 22. I go walk in having my drivers license already in my pocket expected, well...the expected! But no to my surprise I was greeted to a warm "Welcome!" I got the craft beers I was looking for and made my way to the front. Only because it's necessary to be carded which is entirely understandable, the cashier took my card without being rude or being stared at and looked at me and gave me back my card. Easy. As if I was shopping at an ordinary grocery store. Now I don't hand off my 5 star reviews so easily so here's the kicker: after the transaction was complete I told the cashier that it's my mother's birthday and I wanted to surprise her with a drink that she can make mixed drinks out of. The lady was very knowledgeable and determined what I was looking for through a series of questions that help best fit my mother's taste. She left her post as no customers were in line (BONUS! It's a pet peeve when a sales associates or employee would just point to a spot and say it's there and expect you to go on a scavenger hunt to look for the item) and showed me the different selections and I chose the one that I thought she would like best out of the cashiers recommendations. It was a liquor used to make mixed drinks called Rum Chata like an alcoholic horchata. I got a fancy bag that was on sale for $2 that fit the shape of the bottle perfectly and made my way home. I delivered the gift to my mom and she tried it and loved it. That's how I know this place is 5 star worthy. Service and executing the right information to their customers. I wish I caught the associates name but she was a short, young mid 20's Hispanic woman. Would come back again and would recommend this liquor store to anyone that wants to stock up on their personal selection or try something new! read more

I purchased two cases of French Imported wine from Bevmo. About a week later, I opened one of the bottles & it was bad. I had to throw it out. I tried another bottle & it seemed ok. I noticed the corks break as I open them with the crock screw. About a week & a half I opened another bottle & again it was bad. I took the remaining bottles back to the store & the manager told me I can't return it after 8 days. Now I'm stuck with a wine that is horrible. I will NEVER return to Bevmo again . This Bevmo store opened just up the street from me and at first I didn't think I would use it much, but having a store with such a decent selection of wines and beer has made me explore a little. The biggest draw for me is their import and craft brew beer section, which is well stocked, diverse and well organized. The store is clean, the sections are easy to figure out and well labeled. They've even gone as far as to label certain items that are well reviewed or award winning. The staff is helpful and pleasant. I took one star away because they don't allow you to customize a 6 pack or buy individual 12oz bottles. Its pints, 750ml bombers or 4/6 packs only. Since they are closer than Total Wine and have a much better selection than Trader Joe's, I let it slide, but they would be a 5 star home run if they would allow that option. read more

I have been buying from BevMo's Golden Valley shop for over 6 years and they have been very cooperative with me when I call and ask them to hold or order some of the more difficult wines to get either because they move off the shelf too fast or are not always replenished for whatever reason. This is particularly true of some Tawny Ports and Cab-Savs that I like and were harder to get during the T'giving thru New Years 2015-16 holidays. AND the prices were right and since I was buying regularly, I was getting earned discounts, along with periodic mailed discounts that gave me price breaks on otherwise pricey Tawny and Cab wines. Great and very friendly employees helped my Mother and I locate the beer that my Father wanted us to pick up. Upon pushing the cart to the register they refused to make a sale to my Mother, they insisted I show my ID for touching a piece of plastic and metal on wheels(shopping cart). I told them I do not have an ID and I would not be making the purchase. Now my Brother and I push the cart for our parents in every store, and the treatment I was given was very confusing and upsetting. Had to gather my own order myself and watched the 2 employees assist other customers with their $10 purchases while waiting on my $110 order. Decided to switch out the items I could t find myself for something else which took another 15 minutes without any updates from the employees. They finally had to cancel my order and ring me out manually because of a system error. To top it off, one of the boxes was over packed and caused me to drop a bottle in the parking lot. No apology, just... Awesome. Walked in at 11:15, left at 12:11. I will be going out of my way to Total Wine in Northridge going forward. read more

This is by far one of the worst BevMo that I have visited. I stopped in to purchase some items since they are running the buy 1 get 1 for 5 cents sale. After spending about 20 minutes in store making my selections I went to the register to pay. The "manager" was standing there training an associate. While he scanned my items she felt the need to say that in order to get the sale it needs to be the same item. No where on ANY of the dozens of signs does it say that. No disclaimers , no fine print nothing. Usually those things don't bother me seeing as I work in retail and managed multiple companies but I politely asked her where it specified that. She said it didn't but that's the policy. I then got frustrated with her and asked to speak to her manager. Which funny enough was her. She said sorry that's the policy. When I told her that her signage needs to state that information she semi laughed it off and said I could come back tomorrow and talk to her boss. She clearly has a lack of knowledge when it comes to customer satisfaction and not to mention the weights and measures department. I told her that I work in the same field and they could get fined for that and she proceeded to give me a stupid grin. She pissed me off so I told her to give me the customer service number and she said you can find it online. Um no witch your supposed to give it to me. She then called her boss , laughed about me and said we can make an exception for you this one time. I then cut her off and said yeah I know how this works no need to continue talking. I paid for my items and she then said I'm sorry I'm just following policy with a sarcastic tone. Then I told her that policies are meant to be used as guide lines , they are not set in stone. Learn how to manage a business and build customer loyalty or you will stay stuck in your shitty job forever. Expect shitty service from shitty management when you shop here's clearly there is a lack of knowledge on how to run a business. Buy your stuff and leave. These employees need to be retrained by someone with the proper knowledge and experience. She laughed as I walked out the door but funny enough I got what I wanted anyways. I just went into the Bevmo on Golden Valley Rd and was surprised to find only 2 employees working at 10:00am on the 4th of July. There was an excess of four or more people in both lines. The employees were doing there best to take care of their customers but were overwhelmed by the amount of customers in line and in the store. I feel that having two more employees with the same customer service skills on the clock on a holiday would have benefited sales and customer satisfaction I do like this store and will come back, hopefully this was a one time deal. read more
