After my visit, Total Wine became my to go place for wine, liquor or gift shopping. This location has a a huge selection of wines. They have variety of international wines like French, Italian and some local wines like Napa. They also have variety of international liquor such as Soju, Sake and etc. I will be honest people working on the floor were not the friendliest employees. I asked them a question and I even showed them a picture to make it easier. They just said it's over there. For me over there means a lot of things. lol However, I will give a huge shout out to Mark Anthony cashier. He went over and beyond in providing customer service. He even informed of the rewards program and helped me signed up. He got five stars rating. This location is located in a shopping plaza. I am writing this after two uncomfortable and inconsistent experiences at this location. On our first visit, my friend and I walked in together and she immediately stepped back outside to smoke. She was stopped by staff on her way out of the store and asked whether she was shopping with someone. They stated that if she was shopping with me, they would need to see her ID or I would not be allowed to purchase alcohol. She went to her car, retrieved her physical ID, and brought it back inside to show the manager. The purchase was then completed. Notably, although they required her ID during that visit, I was not asked for mine at checkout. On our most recent visit, while I was at the register with my physical ID ready, the cashier immediately asked, "Where is your friend?" even though she was still browsing in the aisle and not in line with me. The tone felt accusatory from the start. When my friend came forward she did not have her physical ID on her, only a digital copy and the cashier refused the sale. We asked to speak to the manager on duty, and the manager Mark, stated that he had made a "one time exception" for her during our prior visit when she supposedly did not have ID. This is inaccurate. She did have her physical ID during that visit and retrieved it from her car at staff's request. The sale was refused, including non alcohol items I asked if I could still purchase. I understand strict ID policies and respect alcohol compliance laws. However, the interaction escalated unnecessarily. We were spoken to in a hostile and condescending manner and the cashier yelled "go to Ralphs" as we were exiting. At one point, we were being told we needed to leave before my ID had even been returned to me. Adding to the inconsistency, during this same visit there were other groups of women who appeared under 30 shopping together. From what I observed, not all members of those groups were asked to present ID at checkout or called over from elsewhere in the store. The signage above the register states that ID is required if you appear under 30. Neither my friend nor I are under 30. After two visits with similar treatment, the issue feels less about policy and more about inconsistent enforcement and unprofessional delivery. Compliance is understandable. Accuracy, consistency, and respectful communication should be equally prioritized. Customers should not leave feeling accused or scrutinized when attempting to make a lawful purchase. I hope management reviews how these interactions are handled, as the customer experience in both instances fell well below expectations. read more

Walking into a wine galore of choices, I was intrigued by how many options there were but I came in for something specific. I wasn't sure where they were located (first timer here) I walked over to the wine tasting area and a nice lady walked me over to the section. They had a wall full of hard seltzer, aisles of beer, liquor and of course THE WINE! They also have snacks up front if you got the munchies. I had Coco as my cashier, super friendly and she signed me up on the awards, gave me the inside of them (get the app there's coupons) and you'll get a free bottle of wine on your bday (just pay the tax). This place was more than I expected with options, the helpfulness of the workers was top tier and the prices are better than anywhere else!! I'll definitely be stopping by here again when I need some cocktails or some bottles of wine. read more

Unfortunately I could not buy much because I live in North Carolina and would have to check my bag since they don't ship and I had a carry on, I was very limited. Total Wine is hands down my go to spot for wine and spirits. This location is not huge but inside is packed on every aisle with selections of wine and fine alcohol. I can go I hear and get what I need every time. They have staff walking around to help and often have sampling and tastings going on. Rude manager. I was looking for a really rare brand of sake. Spoke to the manager Ray, who happened to be at the very front of the store. I I showed him a picture and asked them if they carried it. He didn't even look at me. He pointed at an aisle and said "it's right down" there. I asked him if you could help me find it and he said "I'm not gonna help you out buddy" and he walked away. I spoke to my rabbi about it, and he told me to forget about it, but God does not forget. I would've given this place one star if it weren't for this nice girl Destiny who helped me find the bottle. She was very sweet. She even ran cover for the manager and said "he's usually not like that". I was a poker dealer for eight years in Las Vegas. I worked at the Venetian and before I retired last year I was a floor manager, so I know a little about customer service. This guy could've called somebody on his radio to help me find it. He could've taken time to just walk me over to the aisle, but he didn't do any of that. He wanted to be nasty. I'll stick to the location in Pasadena. read more

Whoa this is definitely a cool place to go! I had never been to a Total Wine and More before and this location has so many aisles and it is so clean and just fun to walk slowly through and see all the options of things I've never even seen before! If you're like me and sometimes you just want to buy a bottle of something just because the bottle is beautiful and would look good on display, there are definitely many here! Nobody was at the taste testing area when we stopped by, but apparently you can do a taste testing in the middle of the store! read more

Total wine is my go to store when needing to buy alcohol. Love the prices and the variety of selection that they offer. During this visit I was looking for a specific bottle that I was unfamiliar with since it was going to be a gift. I asked a worker if he could direct me to where the bottle was and all I got was "it's in that section as he points to the middle of the store". I then went to that area and still couldn't find it so I proceeded to ask a manger then he also said it's over there. I couldn't find the item the first time so I really would've appreciated if one of the workers were more helpful in directing me to where the item was at. I was only able to come across it because another customer overheard me having trouble finding that bottle so he helped me out. read more

Their return policy is atrocious. I realized I overpaid for something that was labeled less on the shelf once I got to my car. Immediately turned around to exchange for the bottle I had intended to purchase and was told they do no do returns and I can only exchange for equal value or more. Total Wine has a great selection and good prices, but Sarah at checkout seems to have taken it upon herself to police any signs of joy in the checkout line. While waiting, I made a lighthearted remark--just a simple, "Can I have their rewards points?" after the person ahead of me declined to sign up. No schemes, no actual expectation of getting the points--just a joke to pass the time. Sarah, however, was not having it. With the enthusiasm of a mall cop on a power trip, she immediately shut it down with a firm, "That's not allowed," as if I was trying to run a rewards fraud ring instead of just making small talk. I'll be back because the store itself is great, but maybe Sarah should treat herself to a bottle of whatever might help her lighten up or consider reassignment in a non-customer facing role. read more

I don't even drink anymore but I come here to get my non-alcoholic beer fix. They have the best selection of that in town *and* their staff actually knows the NA products, I believe one was one of the male managers. I failed to get his name but he recommended several new breweries and flavors to me, which I tried. Some I loved, some I didn't, but I appreciated it wasn't a shameless money grab; he clearly knew understood what I liked and made recommendations based on that. I am 49 years old and the checker refused to sell to my husband because I didn't show my ID. Neither of us look even close to the age of 30, let alone underage. I felt like she thought I was trying to get away with something, and I really don't appreciate being treated with contempt for simply existing. She also didn't apologize or even explain the policy. This place is awesome!! I've heard of it, but never tried...until today. Soooo many different kinds of wine!!! I didn't even know where to start! So I just went down every aisle, slowly! Just looking at everything, reading all the descriptions of wines I've never heard of. I was like a kid in a candy store...I wanted everything!! The employees there are very helpful. I had them come by and see if I need help several times. And when I needed something from a locked case, they were there within 15 seconds. Yah! They had lots of liquor too. I walked down those aisles and then the Mixer aisles. So much to see and the store was huge!! Walked out with 4 wines I've never heard of. A Baileys in a flavor that is very hard to find. A bottle of Prosecco I've never heard of but was listed as one of their favorites. I bought a fabulous limited edition bottle of rum...I've never seen it and was so happy to discover it there. And I bought some ciders and wine that are my favorite "go-to" drinks at a good price. I signed up for the membership to get free stuff with points. So after filling up my cart with beverages and stuff, they won't sell to me because I'm intoxicated? Hold on, one I'm sober. And two, you give me alcohol but won't sell me any? So glad they're finally open. I prefer coming here because they have more options of all drinks beer, wine, seltzers, hard liquor. Before the Valencia location I had to go to Northridge or Pasadena to pick up certain items. Also love that they have wine tastings certain nights. Been there multiple times never had an issue until shift supervisor SARAH. My friend was discriminated against due to his height and not having his ID with when he wasnt even purchasing. No one in my party was allowed to purchase any bottles due to this. First time coming in here. No obvious disclaimer of their "group policy" that everyone entering needs their ID present for any member of the party to purchase, even if ur just husband and wife (because I totally understand checking a party looking group if need be). And I wasn't even next to my husband when he was ringing up, I was already walking toward the door with my family when the cashier holler'd at me to come over for an ID check. Like whoops, my bad, sorry it was supposed to be a quick errand. I don't always bring my all my belongings for a quick 20 minute errand especially if I'm just there to accompany to my husband. As a first timer, my first impression: this lack of transparency at the door or obvious signage leads people to waste time, get excited about getting something, then get embarrassed and get booted out. So yes, it's a hard 1 star for me. Side note: It was also news to my friends & family that Total Wine does this. And in their experience with other retailers, they have said at least BevMo has checked ID at the door or at least gave warning the door by the greeter so that others can wait in the car. And they haven't had any similar experience at other liquor retailers. So now my 1st impression spread a sour taste to others that haven't been to total Wine, or for those that had been, but wasn't aware they done that. Also, don't bother giving me some "business owner" bs response. Don't worry, I get it. I understand the need for the policy. Ahhhhhh finally, the wine shop the SCV needed!!!! I'm a huge fan of total wine. The shelves are always stocked and their prices are insanely low compared to anywhere else. All of the employees I have interacted with, in particular, Rebecca (I think that's her name), are fantastic. They make great recommendations and really know their stuff!! If you're looking for specialty products, they have it all. From the rare wines, to an insane collection of craft beer (I could browse the aisles just giggling at the fun cans and silly names), to their sodas, they truly have it all. They even have my favorite root beer from this tiny town in Louisiana- Abita Root Beer! This is now my go-to spot for wine, beer, spirits, and root beer. I love it! read more

FINALLY! SHE'S HERE! I've been patiently waiting for this store to open! I'm a wino okay!? A wino is an UN-addicted alcoholic with self control haaaaa! This store is LIFE, LIBERTY, & THE PURSUIT. OH MY GOD. They have wine, beer, tequila, mixes, champagne, whiskey, mezcal, cigars and you know how I love my mini bottles for festivals & flights! They had a huge selection, though I didn't get a chance to look at it all. If I weren't in a hurry, I would've been there for hours perusing each isle. They have a lovely staff as well who are well trained on where things are, (which is a miracle considering how huge the store is.) They also have classes & tastings for a cheap & easy way to look fancy with your pinky in the air. Online booking only so get your tickets! My husband and I signed up for a tasting class with another couple. We were very impressed with the quantity of wines we tasted, at least 8. The speaker was quite knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Also, the food they put out for the tasting was quite extensive. We had fruit, cheese, crackers, sandwiches, veggies, bread, etc. It was a very nice selection with lots to choose from. Our friends and us are already looking for another tasting in the near future.
