Stopped by to pick up some beer and wine after shopping at Marshalls right next door. It's nice to be able to "one-stop" shop in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and helpful and being a smaller store, things are easy to find. If you need help, just ask and someone is always available to assist you. This store has that good Solana Beach vibe, casual and relaxed, exactly the way I like to shop. Cheers everyone!

BevMo! One of my favorite places ever! This location is smaller than the ones I usually go to. They still always have what I'm looking for so the smaller space doesn't bother me. The staff are really nice and helpful. I always get offered assistance. I also like that they keep their shelves neat and orderly. What really piqued my interest during my last visit was when I was buying some glourous Woodford Reserve... an affordable drink of kings given to us by the gods brought down from the heavens by a mighty wolf... for it belongs in your belly as much as it looks beautiful in your glass, and will give even your coldest night a touch of warmth. It turns out that Bevmo has its own blend of Woodford! Crazy! I bought it and will hoard it away to open with a special someone (if my cat is reading this, no Sophia, you're too young to drink!) and we will judge the blend and all who had a hand in its creation... or just get pretty hammered....ohhhhh....or both!

Outside.

Guys... this is a liquor store. For anyone expecting *top of the line - extraordinary* customer…read moreservice, you aren't going to get that here. The two guys that (I'm assuming) run the store are genuinely nice and do exactly what they're supposed to! If anyone has ever worked in customer service - you would know how absolutely exhausting it is to work with people ALL DAY. God forbid a liquor store at that... Cut them some slack, seriously. As for the actual products, I can't say much about the alcohol but the selection of snacks is honestly great! Lots of non-alcoholic drinks + a small selection of essentials (like batteries for example). I always come here for snacks and drinks. Easy in and out, no hassle, everything is set up very clearly organized as well. *As for the "labubu review", this is LIQUOR STORE. Of course it's going to be fake. Come here with the expectation that it's a liquor store, it's honestly fine and has everything it's supposed to.

I was devastated to hear the father died suddenly and they were forced to sell. But I hoped the mom and kids found their way because they deserved it. I was encouraged that the new buyers remodeled and offered more. But prices went up and friendliness was non existent. No hello, no smile, no nothing. Making it very clear they don't want to be there or even spend two minutes checking you out on their overpriced goods. I'm a block away, and after two years, I'm done. I won't spend another dime there. I'll drive two blocks east to see a fellow human being who smiles and is welcoming. This life is tough for us all, I finally asked "Do you not like working here?" And he went off on me, taken aback by the question...then said "I've been here all day" ...i responded with I spent all day working too and I still managed to show kindness to others, especially customers" he obviously didn't like that but I don't care. I'm done. We can choose where to spend our hard earned money and I won't spend another cent there. I hope their hatred of the job encourages them to sell and the next owners are good people. I'll go back then.

You can choose the bread you want as well. I also grabbed a bag of chips. But these were all separate prices. Too bad there wasn't a special lunch price of sandwich, chips, and a drink. I guess they don't get many customers to make that a thing. I just came by again (December 20th, Saturday) and was informed that the deli portion wasn't open today sadly. So they aren't reliant on that aspect, they should have posted a sign outside to inform people. I just bought some chips for 2.99 -- which is not bad compared to grocery store prices but the bags are smaller and less is given as well so take that into account. At least they accept cash! And drinks are refrigerated so they are nice and cool and refreshing if you were to buy one.

The deli is within the liquor store and its super easy to order your sandwich. The staff were very friendly and quick. I ordered the Manhattan sandwich and I added bacon. I walked a couple blocks down and enjoyed the sandwich by the beach. It was very flavorful and I was happy with my choice. The price was great and I felt like it was worth it. Drinks within the liquor store are a bit pricey, but thats to be expected in Del Mar. The spot is busy but that doesn't affect their quality or speed, and it seems you can even place an order over the phone. Overall a very nice spot to get lunch at.

Salt and vinegar chips are $2.99 (bit of a steal, because the bag was barely full. Like less than half... less than usual lol).

You're gonna go into Seaside and go to the counter and say I want the classic Cardiff crack sandwich, which will feed at least two people and maybe a kid beside. Then you gotta go down and lock the chip aisle and get your favorite chips. Maybe a nice bottle of wine check out go home and eat! When we first moved down here, I wasn't a huge fan of Cardiff crack, but I've become to look forward to every chance I get to have it. I know why it's a legend, so if you're in the neighborhood, stop and get it.

The portion is generous enough to share, and it's so much easier than dealing with the crowds, parking, long waits, or having to bus your own table like we seem to encounter at so many places around San Diego. For dinner, we often stop by the deli and seafood counter to pick up cooked shrimp and a few sides. We take everything back to our Airbnb, warm it up, and enjoy a relaxing dinner on the patio. It's become one of our favorite vacation traditions. The dessert case is incredible, and choosing just one treat is nearly impossible! I do miss the tuxedo custard mousse cake (or whatever it was called)--it was absolutely delicious. It's also a great place to grab lunch meats, fresh rolls, or bread for easy beach sandwiches. Best of all, the staff is consistently friendly and genuinely enjoys chatting with customers. I've had so many pleasant conversations with people at the seafood, meat, and deli counters over the years. Great food, great service, and always a stop we look forward to on every trip.

The hotel provided each of us with a voucher for a "Grab and Go" breakfast at The Bistro which was pretty much continental breakfast items from prepackaged muffins, yogurt, bagels, apples, bananas, coffee, and juice. I really had no complaints for the breakfast as the choices were typical for a continental breakfast. However, I'm really downgrading them on the boxed lunches they provided. They were originally going to charge us $12.95 per person for sandwiches and wraps. We thought this was pricey for sandwiches and wraps and were already looking into other alternatives. Our administrative assistant was able to negotiate the price to $10.95 per person, but drinks WOULD NOT be included. We stocked up on drinks and packed them in coolers on the bus so we were okay on the drink situation. Our Choices for our Boxed Lunches were the following: ======================================== Sandwich/Wrap Choices - Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, or Vegetarian Toppings: Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Mayo, Mustard, Cheese Bread: Sourdough, Wheat, Flatbread Salad: House or Caesar Salad Side: Chips or Whole Fresh Fruit We were traveling north and made a stop in San Clemente to eat our lunch. The one positive I can say is that they wrote our names on each boxed lunch. The food was not up to par at all. We were also missing a lunch so two people ended up splitting a sandwich. One of my coworkers ordered a Vegetarian Wrap and it consisted of crumbly flatbread, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Her response was "What is this? A mayonnaise wrap!?" Lettuce and Tomato were from the "topping" choices so where's the rest of the veggies? My other friend ordered a salad and it consisted of wet romaine lettuce. There were no other vegetables or other ingredients in her salad, no tomatoes, cucumber, carrots... nothing. The lettuce didn't even fill up the container. I ordered a Turkey Sandwich on wheat bread with lettuce, tomato, cheese and mustard. My sandwich was really dry with no flavor. I had to put a lot of mustard on it to be able to eat any of it and ended up throwing most of it away. I also got a side of fruit (which was supposed to be "Whole Fresh Fruit" and it was 1 piece of dried up pineapple, two grapes, and a piece of crunchy honeydew. There was a consensus among most of us that we did not enjoy the lunch at all. (I totally forgot to take any photos.) What they gave us was so not worth $10.95. Last year we also catered boxed lunches and I had a turkey sandwich but in comparison, that sandwich was 100 times better. I'm glad we packed extra snacks on the bus, I ended up filling up on a chocolate chip cookie from Free Birds from the day before, Cheetos, and Arizona green tea since the lunch was a total fail. I really wished we had used another establishment for our lunch, but used The Bistro based purely on convenience. I don't think The Bistro is known for its catering, but if that's not what they do then they shouldn't have told us this was an option and we could have gone somewhere else. 147/100 Reviews for 2015

What I like about the store is that they always seem to have clean aisles, clean floors, and all of the items are put together very well on the shelves. When we walked in, we needed to find sunscreen, and there was a cashier who was nice enough to offer to help us find it. She directed us to where it was. The prices for the sunscreen are super competitive and very reasonable. I also found that they have the deli section near the produce department (on the left of the store). My husband and I peruse some of the things to see if we were going to have anything before we went to the fair. He ended up getting a packaged sandwich. I only got the sunscreen. It's always a good experience when we come here and we appreciate that Gelson is a small grocer in San Diego.

Love me some grocery shopping!!…read more If you're a fan of Whole Foods and Sprouts than this spot may be your jam! With that said, you must have expensive taste. Quality over quantity baby!! Pros: - Parking jackpot - Tons of parking in Del Mar (rare and appreciated) - Beautiful location - Surrounded by other shops, makes errands fee a little bougie - Clean and spacious - Wide aisles, organized layout, and easy to get in and out - Fun fact - I can spend hours at a grocery store browsing through the aisles looking at new products. - Hot food and prepared meals - Chef's kiss - perfect spot for a quick lunch they never miss - Health food heaven - A health nut dream if your wallet can keep up! I was tempted to buy some yummy new products but hesitated due to the price point. But trust, it is well worth it. - Gourmet and hard-to-find items - Great for when you're feeling fancy or experimental - Local products - love supporting local vendors - Friendly staff - super welcoming and go the extra mile - Not too crowded even on a Saturday - that's always a plus! Cons: - Prices = emotional damage - You go in for snacks, come out reconsidering your life choices LOL - Regular items can cost more - Your basic groceries will definitely be pricier than standard markets - Upscale vibes = upscale bill - Go figure! Final thoughts: This place is perfect for browsing, treating yourself, or grabbing a solid ready-made meal. It's not your everyday budget grocery run especially in this economy so shop wisely. Great spot though when you just want to splurge and treat yo'self! Health is wealth they say!
