First I love local businesses and secondly I love small local businesses.Mar Vista is exactly that. Great service from Marc who runs it I believe his family started it so then I love that even more. Full of every kind of liquor and wine you'd ever want in a good conversation with Marc every time. Last time I told him my wife only drinks vodka and he said oh do I have a bottle for you? I thought oh no what's next and he brings out this little bottle for $7.99. He said let me know what she thinks so I had to walk in the next day and buy two more it was that good he has now become my go to local spot to buy wine, beer and booze. read more

2 Words...Beer Cave. The back cooler of this place is not only amazingly titled, but also appropriately stocked with amazing options. They've got everything form local craft labels to the most basic bitch hard seltzers out there. If you can't find what you're looking for at Mar Vista, then you're drinking some obscure stuff. They're open till like 2am, and I also love how they carry a couple local kombucha labels like Babe and Local Roots. Overall, a well run liquor store that deserves your business. read more

2am, yup, that's when they close and when most of North County bars really closes before that, this is your last chance to get anything for an afterparty. Being from Oceanside, I'm used to having more liquor store options available, but when it's 1:45am beggers can't be boozers, I mean choosers. It's pretty visible from all around and shares it's parking with a few other places so parking can be iffy, but not at night. As with any liquor store in San Diego, they stock a solid amount of our craft beers. They have a slightly heavier whiskey selection than most and lighter selection of vodka, that is to say they don't carry much of that whipped cream caramel red velvet vodka your girlfriend is looking for. While most of the more North liquor stores stock more bodega items, this is liquor store only. I can't speak on their wine or bubbly selections as I drink neither of those after dark except maybe in a French 75 or Kalimotxo. Prices are reasonable and the service is good. So they have a ton of craft beer. Cool right? Well it's not. Why? They keep their refrigeration to a freaking minimum. Beers and other refrigerated items are barely cold at all. On top of that their prices are absurdly high. I just want a cold beer for the right price after work but somehow they botch that. I've been coming here for years and I have to say they have one of the best selections for he best price. Everything from Corona to Pliny and a very knowledgeable staff.
