It was until recently that I decided to get myself familiar with the drinking of wine and beer. And the people here were of great help to me learning the difference between various choices of wines I should have for certain foods and tastes. We should all be familiar with our reds, whites, chardonnays, cabernets, merlots, pinot grigios and champagne, but the employees made me aware of so many other wines that I had no idea reall existed. Thats probably also because they are so specific that you won't likely find them in restaurants. I learned about malbecs, chianti, burgundy, sirahs, pinot noir, riesling, muscat and roses. After visiting the Bevmo in Anaheim (on Tustin), we were a little disappointed with this location. The store was not as clean, the selection did not seem as good, and the customer service was on the "mehhhhh" side. Still love BevMo, but this location might need a little TLC. read more

Of the seven Beverages and More stores I've been to, this was the smallest BevMo along with the worst parking. It should be called Beverages and Less. Sure, the inventory is still larger and better compared to the Vons across the parking lot or the CVS across the street, but this BevMini mostly serves as a corner neighborhood liquor store. read more

On several occasions I've come to this bevmo. I've been rather satisfied with the customer service and someone is usually within eyesight to help me find something if needed. They're one of the smallest stores I've been to and sometimes I cannot find what I'm looking for. It's not that they don't stock it, but it's usually out of stock. I used to but my favorite wine here by the large bottle but for whatever reason I can't find it here anymore so I stopped going but(!!) I do love the convenience of this store location. read more

wow. harsh reviews from yelpers. never had a parking issue and always had the staff help me with the vinos. i've had some cheaper wines at greenblatt on sunset for the joel gott but bev mo does do 5 cent wines. if you get a dozen, you get another 10% off. i had the same issue as a few yelpers of them not pulling up my membership based on my phone number. luckily, i had a friend with me who would benefit from using their member card. skip the salami/cheese selection and head to trader joe's. your wallet will thank me for it but if in a serious pinch, you can easily host a wine and cheese night in one stop. read more

This place is amazing! The customer service is great. The employees are so helpful. I called in saying I was coming in looking for a particular beer. They held the 6 pack for me at cash register already. The prices are lower than any grocery store and the place is well organized. I had a Very disturbing experience today with the store manager Andrew. I showed him my ID to verify my age and that my ID is current. He REFUSED to allow my purchase unless I allowed him to enter my drivers license info in his computer. It is not necessary for Bevmo to have my personal info stored in their data base. By law this is not required by the state of CA( since I happen to be an Attorney). Terrible customer service today. read more

Nothing else matters if you're not allowed to buy anything. I know from experience that Bevmo tries to electronically capture the personal information your driver's license. They ask to "see" it, but instead they quickly scan it. This way they read your name, address, date of birth, your gender, your height and weight, your eye color, etc. Expecting this, I handed over the card and asked politely for it to not be scanned. This request has been respected in the past. Alas, after conferring with a colleague they decided to turn me away, unless I let them scan my DL. I'm 40+ years old. I'm certain I was entirely respectful throughout the exchange. read more

I purchased a keg from the Burbank location and I attempted to return the keg on 12/30/2011 and they wouldn't refund my deposit. They wanted a copy of my receipt. Other establishments including liquor stores and breweries don't require any receipt. They already have the customer's information stored in their system. BevMo does have your information stored but they require a receipt. I spent 30 minutes round trip driving to BevMo to find out they wouldn't refund me. They mentioned if I can recall the transaction date that they could search for the day they charged for the deposit. I went home and found the ABC paperwork and then went to the Studio City location. They said they wouldn't return the keg. I said I tried returning the keg at the Burbank location and already spent a total of 45 minutes driving around trying to return the keg. I said I have the date the deposit occurred and suggested for them to look up my order based on that date. They seemed hesitant but did what I requested. They eventually deposited my 40 dollars and then mentioned they will require a receipt next time. They lost my business so I rather deal with better establishments like Vendome Liquor or Buzz Wine Beer Shop. At least they are friendly and will sell better selections of handcrafted beers. And, they refund deposits easy because they have the customers information on file. What BevMo should learn is how to have better customer service. I patronize places like Costco and Bed Bath and Beyond because they have excellent customer service and provide refunds without any hassles. BevMo seems more focused on moving items in volume at a discount and doesn't want to provide customer service. If discounts is what someone is looking for I highly recommend Total Wine and More in Northridge which has a bigger and better selection. Mission Liquor in Sherman Oaks, Glendale, and Pasadena have some of the best prices in town as well. If you want a connoisseur at a store helping you find excellent wine, beer, or sprits, then I recommend visiting Vendome in Toluca Lake. Their staff will sell you a product based on your tastes / palette profile. They will educate their customers on the products they sell. They have allot of rare items that no one else sells. They even host wine classes, wine tastings, and beer tastings. And the staff is very cool! read more

We have great wine stores in Studio City, but the convenience of BevMo lured me in. But immediately the poor customer service reminded me why Flask and Vendome are the better options. Hard to find anyone to help find or recommend bottles. Signs posted everywhere on where checkout line begins. Unfortunately, I was the only one to follow them and had three people cut in front of me. When I pointed this out to the store, they shrugged and continued to check out the cutters! Never again! read more

Worst customer service ever at Burbank store.....clerks are clueless, I had a special order that took SIX WEEKS, I go into the INSANE parking lot to pick it up and then ..Oh....ummmmmm.....we don't have any order......ummmm, nothing in the back...two clerks talk to each other but not ME....are you sure someone called you ? Yes, 24 hours ago and it was____, oh he is not here today... How this is MY problem ?? Mgr comes out, he has never even HEARD of the product...um I ordered it from BEV MO, in YOUR store...well, we have 23 on the shelf you could have..I ordered a case...Mgr, ummm how many is that ? I said I was told I HAD to order a case, and you don't know how many that is....well,it is a smaller size...and ?? On and on, then when it is not 24, he says he has to charge me for a full case if I want 23...at that point it took everything I had not to implode. He looks it up, oh we can sell them separately...great..... seems the non-speaking clerk put them in another product's cardboard 4 pk, but he did not bother to check. As he rung me up he apologized and I asked what he could do to make it better...5% off...............wow......then he had the nerve to tell me I should get a BEV MO card to shop in the future. I told him after this incident that made NO sense to me and I would take my business elsewhere. AVOID and frequent the non-chain VENDOME is great, and if you want service, accountability and guidance, do NOT go here. read more

The worst. THE WORST. I ordered 2 bottles of Charbay RII whiskey ($300 per bottle) and they shipped me two bottles of R5 whiskey ($80 per bottle). They haven't responded to my email in 2 days, and their 1800 number wants me to leave a message. Their staff that I've spoken to has no idea what is going on and has never even heard of any of these whiskeys. I swore off of BevMo years ago and was tempted by this bottle but never again. There is no reason to shop at Bevmo, ever. The 5 cent sale is a complete scam, the store is now filled with private label nonsense, and most people in there don't know what's what. I received a call that required a response and began exiting on the side of the parking structure. An employee yelled from a distance something I couldn't hear initially since still on the phone but kept going. I turned and noticed he was addressing me and saying "You have to shop here to use the restroom!" I had in fact used the rest room just before receiving the call that took me out of the store. I promise to never use their rest room again. I'll utilize one of many local independent merchants for future wine purchases. read more

If you want to go to a place where you will be treated like dirt, receive no help finding something, and be treated particularly poorly if you are purchasing an expensive wine, then this is the place for you. The store is dirty and poorly organized. Walk across the street to The Flask where you will be treated like a customer by someone who actually cares and wants you to leave satisfied. I went to this store and purchased a case of water. The salesperson assisting me with the purchase (the only salesperson working at the check out area in the huge bow truss warehouse) decides to leave the station to go help another person who absent mindedly walked up to a neighboring station in the middle of my purchase! Naturally, I have to wait for the sales person to come back in order to complete the debit purchase. I had to call her off the other person to complete my purchase! When she came back, naturally I was less than happy with the fact that she left me Midstream to go help someone else. Instead of owning her faux pas, she tried to blame me for her disrespectful behavior! Oh, it was my fault that she made the executive decision to leave me during the Middle of our transaction to go help someone else when I was there before that person and everybody else in line? No one should have to experience that kind of disrespect! If you begin a transaction with an individual, you should finish the transaction with the individual before going off to help someone else. The fact that you have an African American in front of you does not give you the right to give them less than good service and less than respectful customer service. I truly do not believe that she would have behaved this way if she had a Caucasian in front of her. We do matter. No it is not Ok people, WAIT YOUR TURN, PROVIDE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
