Parents, please be careful with this optical store. My daughter got glasses here and they gave her the wrong prescription. She wore them for months, seeing blurry, and only later during another exam at the same store did they admit the mistake. This is unacceptable. Wrong glasses can affect a child's vision, school, and daily life. I trusted them with my child's eye care, but they failed us and used up my insurance coverage in the process. I'm sharing this so other parents know to double-check prescriptions before trusting this place. Children's eyesight is too important to risk. I do not trust this store any more. I was having an issue after cataract surgery, Dr Randy Poon saw me right away, even though I had no appointment. He was very professional and very thorough with his examination. I have severe dry eye that is exacerbated by having bad allergies. this doctor didn't adequately treat me and I ended up getting corneal erosion. I had to go to the hospital after seeing this doctor weekly for more than a month. He was rude to me and didn't explain the medication or the process of having this condition. My eyes hurt so bad with no relief I had to go to the hospital for a second opinion and both my eye balls had massive scratches on the cornea. I was in immense pain. My right eye cornea needed a temporary contact lense bandage immediately, which this doctor did not even consider for me. How awful. When I shared the care I received at this clinic/doctor with the hospital they were disappointed and shocked. if he would have treated me with more patience and care, my eyes would have healed. Due to his poor patient care and attitude my eyes and life have been impacted negatively enough for me to share my story with others. If you have severe dry eye, it can lead to exposure keratitis which is what I had. I had no relief from my symptoms my eyelids swelled up to the point of not closing properly and made my eye balls dry out and become scratched. It's the worst pain I've ever had. This doctor actually ended up writing a note in my medical file diagnosis saying it was due to me pulling my eyelashes out. My eyes were so dry and irritated I rubbed them until they grew into my skin and my eyes were so swollen you couldn't see them anymore. This was NOT the cause. This is a symptom. This was when I had my first concerning feeling he was inadequate. If you research this condition, this medical finding of poor eye lash growth goes along with having untreated symptoms of dry eye, this was not the CAUSE. This was alarming and lazy of the doctor to document as its not correct. It's also basic eye health that he should have known. With the kind patience and teaching of a new doctor I have referred to by the emergency hospital, I now know this illness takes time and if not properly managed and explained to a patient it can become extreme, mimicking other conditions and causing mental distress. As you can see from my story. This illness needs a lot of teaching and patients. Be aware. Be your own advocate. Remember how doctors get paid.. if you are not getting better and they just keep billing your insurance, maybe it's time to go elsewhere. :( read more

I haven't received my lenses yet but I'm eternally optimistic that they are going to help with my double vision and light sensitivity.

Staff and Dr. Poon are friendly. Dr. Poon is good with young children. Straight-forward appointment with little wait time.

The optometrist was fantastic. I thought he was super friendly and very thorough. He made a couple of great recommendations. Couldn't be happier. The young ladies at the service counter were a different story. Both times that I came in (once to make an appointment and the other to pick up my order) it was as if I was disturbing their day. Neither time I was greeted with a hello and was not asked how my day was going. Approachable they were not. I would probably go back based on the service from the doctor but there is lots of opportunity for improving on the counter staff customer experience front. read more

I had a great experience at Beyond Vision. I've never worn glasses and Dr. Poon was very nice and was able to explain the type of issues I was having and really made me feel at ease about getting glasses. The selection of frames isn't huge but they did offer to bring in most anything else I liked. The staff were warm and caring and even with a scheduling mix up they were able to sort me out very quickly. I'd definitely suggest considering Beyond Vision and Dr. Poon. read more

Terrible customer service. They made my glasses incorrectly. I didn't know this until I had an appointment with my optometrist. They refused to remake the glasses correctly, and blamed me for waiting for my annual optical appointment to find out about their error. read more

This place was great. I am Diabetic, with a history of eye issues (a stoke in one eye), and I had neglected my "eye care" through out COVID. Yet these guys (led by Dr. Poon) did a super job of "catching me up" and even going above and beyond with extra testing to make sure my eyes were OK given my Diabetic and past issues. I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Terrible service. One of their receptionists is extremely rude and uneducated. And Dr.Poon is more interested in sports than getting a prescription done right. I left an earlier review giving Dr Randy Poon with 5 Stars because he was excellent, but the eye glasses side wasn't as great. When I ordered my new glasses, the gentleman said they'd arrive in 5-7 business days. since my prescription changed so drastically, I was excited to receive them, so at 7 business days, I called and was told the were just sent out the day before and it takes 8-10 days to come in. Please don't tell customers a shorter timeframe when you don't expect them in that time. At 10 days, my glasses arrived and I picked them up as soon as I was called which was the end of the day and the gentleman who gave them to me basically said, are they too tight - well, no not really. It was too hard to tell that quickly, and he just looked to see if the lense placement was correct. He didn't look behind my ears to see if they were too tight or look at the nose piece, just right "out of the box". The next day, I went back because I had deep impression on my nose and a headache from the arms bring too tight. The girls immediately noticed they weren't set correctly and fixed them. Glasses are fantastic, but not happy with the initial service. read more

Worst customer service ever Nothing like a young white privileged girl to be prejudiced & racist. My family has been coming here for 3-4 years. We'll never step foot in this store again. Of course you investigated yourself and found no wrong doing. My documents worked immediately at another optometrists in the neighbourhood. So you can't tell me they take a couple days to process them. She didn't even try to process the Indian affairs card number. She heard native and her attitude changed. I have never paid for an appointment and waited to be reimbursed. Of course a company that does wrong would think a review is untrue and offensive. I feel that way I was treated was offensive and left feeling stereotyped because I am native. read more

Dr. Poon and his staff are friendly, punctual, efficient and accommodating. They go above and beyond what is necessary. Fitting me in for a last-minute appointment for an eye infection was much appreciated.
