I had some trouble with my eyes a while back and I was misdiagnosed 3 times before I got to see Dr. Hinz. Dr. Hinz treated me so well, especially since I was pretty nervous about everything. He was great. He made me feel like I was going to be OK. And now I am. The entire staff at Dr. Hinz's office are so kind and genuinely care about their work. I was there so often that they got to know me and would chat with me when I came in, asking about how I was doing. I really couldn't have asked for a more amazing doctor than Dr. Hinz. I…read morewas so scared when my other eye doctor found the high pressures in my left eye and immediately called Dr. Matt and they got me in for immediate eye surgery that day. I was so scared but everyone at the hospital made me feel comfortable and helped me with my closterphobia issue and having the mat over my face. Dr. Matt talking to his assistant really helped as well because I was able to concentrate on his voice and it eased my fears a bit better. It has been a few months now and things are going very well and I enjoy seeing this doctor even though we have to travel 30 mins. Its well worth it to see a doctor whose knows what they are doing. Called a couple days PRIOR to my appointment and asked if it was still a go due to Covid was told yes. Arranged for my husband to take the day off to be my driver home and went to the appointment. Was put in an exam room was given a grumpy nurse/tech who was getting upset that I was blinking when she was trying to measure pressure in my eyes. Cool it is not something I was doing on purpose it is called a reflex. Then the Dr comes in and tell me that due to Covid she will not preforming the procedure. What the actual hell? So here I am back today just had to take the time off w/out pay b/c I have no more vaca days available. I get every 4th Monday off but nope can only get Wednesday appointments.

I got my glasses and came back and asked that they be tightened as they were to big...not fixed…read more I also said, I cant read my computer it blurred, they said you got reading glasses. Seriously?????? What does one read now adays that is not on a computer, they said I should have asked for office - no, when I went to pay, I was specifically asked if I was using them for my computer and when I said yes, she asked if I wanted the blue coating, which I said yes and paid extra for - but now they expect me to pay more to have lens switched out. The most notable example of this professionalism occurred just minutes before my surgery when, during the final fitness-for-surgery assessment, Dr. Leong-Sit effectively expressed his unbiased professional medical opinion that despite the plans for surgery in both eyes, due to a combination of circumstances involving a large variance in the magnitude of correction and how it related to my dominant eye, he felt that operating on only one eye would leave us with nearly all of the benefit while experiencing less medical risk. Despite being minutes from surgery and my payment already remitted in full, Dr. Leong-Sit put my best interest first and delayed the entire surgical team while we amended the paperwork, and the clinic provided me with a substantial refund. I called the Smyth Clinic and was told I could only get in if I got one of their doctors to be my family doctor. This was okay with me because I don't have a family doctor. I got into see Dr. Smyth that afternoon and got a prescription for my vertigo (which subsided in a few days). Only issue I had was the receptionists. Obviously, with Covid there's a plastic partition and everyone is wearing masks so it is hard to hear, but I stood and line and couldn't hear anyone say "come up" or "next person" or anything like that. The receptionist seemed annoyed that I didn't come up, but it wasn't obvious that I could/should. But the visit with the doctor went well and I'm glad I have a family doctor I can go to now.
