So I was quite excited to try this place here in my very small town. As a Yelp Elite squad member…read moreI base almost all of my decisions when trying new places on reviews. Especially during travel. I ordered takeout. Not sure if it was just a bad day or what, but when you are a bit spendy you should take extra care in maintaining good quality food in takeout as much as dining in. I ordered the New Glarus beer battered onion rings, They were soggy, if they had packaged these in brown paper bags this problem would have been greatly diminished as a former restaurant manager. For 9$ I had to come home and put them in the oven to make them crispy again. Also, being a Chicagoan I am a pizza freak. When claiming to be a brickfire pizza place, your crust should be crispy on the bottom yet still chewy. NOPE! It was boxed and sitting in a PILE of grease making my 14$ small pizza very soggy. Very disappointed and probably won't return. I'd rather drive far for good pizza for what I paid for at this establishment. ** update**. Tried to give this place another chance and what a waste of every penny. We figured instead of the pizza this time (being that it was the ONLY place open). We'd try the sandwiches. I'm a Chicagoan and so I went for the "Italian Roast Beef". Big mistake, it was dryer than a desert road and all Italian roast beef sandwiches originating from Chicago should be served "wet" or at least a little "wet". My son ordered the philly and it was just as bad after we had to sit and watch the server stand there and stare into space only to leave to come back with something to write with and STILL didn't give my son the sandwich we ordered so he had to wait. She said she would take it off the bill and she took off 4$..... NEVER again. Don't do it.

Excellent food great service and a short detour...from anywhere! Try the mushroom swiss!…read moreAlso your favorite beverage...bottle, tap, or mixed drinks available. Cheers!

This visit had us scratching our heads a little. The menu says dinners come with vegetables, soup or salad, and a choice of potato. Dad ordered the shrimp and asked for coleslaw as his salad. The waitress wasn't sure they could substitute coleslaw, which seemed a little strange considering coleslaw is literally a salad. Then I asked what the vegetable choices were and was told, "You get peas." So apparently the vegetable choice is...peas. Nothing that ruined the meal, just a couple little menu quirks that made us go, "Hmm...okay." The restaurant itself is really nice inside. It has a clean, neat, newer-looking interior with newer, well-kept tables and booths. Everything looked clean and taken care of, which definitely adds to the experience. Overall, good food, very friendly staff, a clean and comfortable atmosphere, and a couple funny menu moments. We've been here several times and would come back again. So now we get the food and no peas. The staff says Turkey Dinner does not come with peas.

It should be no surprise that the vibe is light, airy and homey. I wish this place was closer to my home!

I'M BARBARA WALTERS AND THIS IS 20/20." ~BARBARA WALTERS…read more Barbara Walters would not likely give Wolt's Shoreview Supper Club a 20/20, but she would appreciate "The View". Wolt's sits along beautiful Pike Lake, taking advantage of the gorgeous scenery by allocating massive window space to its two spacious dining rooms. The interior is exactly what one imagines for a rural, lakeside supper club with wood overload, a brick fireplace, vinyl tablecloths, old people, and vintage snowshoes. A Velkommen sign greets you at the front door along with faux flowers. This is "instagrammable entryway" done Wisconsin backwoods style. Take a selfie with a fish mount! "And that's the way it is." ~Walter Cronkite Service is going to be friendly, but slowwww. That's just the way it is, so relax and enjoy a cocktail while you wait. "Be curious, not judgmental." ~ Walt Whitman I'm extremely curious about the salad bar...curious why the salad is always brown, slimy, and wilted. Skip the salad, but do Butch Cassidy all their amazing radishes and homemade soups into whatever receptacle you can scavenge! You'll make out like a bandit! "If you don't know who I am, then maybe your best course would be to tread lightly." - Walter White The best course at Wolter's is to order the jumbo coconut shrimp. Five stars!! This consistently fantastic entree boasts six shockingly huge shrimp that Heisenberg surely injected with steroids. "You can't just let nature run wild." ~ Walt Disney Instead you have it presented to you on a plate in the form of delicious prime rib. Forego the Friday night fish fry. The batter on the fish is extremely thick and over fried. "A Hot Fudge Sundae and a trashy novel is my idea of heaven." ~ Barbara Walters Complete your dinner with some delicious dessert, because it comes with all entrees. *Trashy novel not included. Overall Wolt's is a fine option for dinner in Amery for any chemistry teacher, legendary journalist, or poet, as long as you stick to the shrimp or the prime rib.

The service was slow which was odd since there was almost nobody there; not good for a Saturday night in August. To be sure our waitress was very inexperienced. The food is average at best, I suspect most of it comes out of a freezer and warmed up in a microwave. What has changed are the prices, they have really shot up but the quality has not. We ate on the deck, it looks horrible and needs maintenance. On the plus side is the ambiance, classic Wisconsin supper club! Furthermore the bartender makes great drinks. This place is loaded with potential. With a little maintenance, a better chef, better quality food and a trained wait staff, it might be worth the price someday.

The bartender (Ashley) was awesome and a sweetheart. She was quite busy with the volleyball teams outside, but she juggled everything very well, First and foremost, it looks like a sports bar. Don't be put off by that, or an almost full parking lot. There is table service inside and there may be folks on the deck or playing sports outside. I didn't have a chance to try anything else but the pizzas look fantastic and quite a few were ordered by regulars, so they must be good. If you're in the area, I highly recommend this place!
