We've been here a few times and overall it's a pretty good place. The food is good, and the staff has always been very friendly and welcoming. This visit had us scratching our heads a little. The menu says dinners come with vegetables, soup or salad, and a choice of potato. Dad ordered the shrimp and asked for coleslaw as his salad. The waitress wasn't sure they could substitute coleslaw, which seemed a little strange considering coleslaw is literally a salad. Then I asked what the vegetable choices were and was told, "You get peas." So apparently the vegetable choice is...peas. Nothing that ruined the meal, just a couple little menu quirks that made us go, "Hmm...okay." The restaurant itself is really nice inside. It has a clean, neat, newer-looking interior with newer, well-kept tables and booths. Everything looked clean and taken care of, which definitely adds to the experience. Overall, good food, very friendly staff, a clean and comfortable atmosphere, and a couple funny menu moments. We've been here several times and would come back again. So now we get the food and no peas. The staff says Turkey Dinner does not come with peas. read more

Darling! We dined here at a weird time around 230 pm on a Saturday and while we started as one of the only tables, the volume quickly picked up. The staff and servers were extremely kind and patient and the atmosphere was cozy and calm. Best part? Breakfast is served all day!! There is a fireplace near the center of the dining space with many booths and tables. We treated my 102 year old grandpa here and he loved it because the coffee and food were super hot - just how he likes it. My family split the fried green beans with ranch and then my mom and grandpa got the senior ribs (yes they offer senior discounts) and I had the Denver omelette with hashbrowns and a pancake. Wide open restaurant without much privacy between tables or groups. Servers are great and friendly. When we checked out the person was a little short and snotty but the waitresses were nice. The food was just okay. Nothing great/nothing terrible. The pie was really good, but I was told they get that brought in from another restaurant. I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant, it used to be very good . Last night 3 people , myself included , were served 3 of the worst meals I've ever seen in a restaurant. Inedible , cold meatloaf covered in a brown glop , 3 slabs of what was called turkey but looked like frozen processed turkey roll and a leathery meat they tried to pass off as pastrami in a Reuben ... all very bad , we expressed our displeasure and they did nothing to correct or compensate the problem ... we will never be back , and I advise you to only go their for scrambled eggs and toast because you really cannot ruin that meal ! read more

First time here and a wonderful place. The restaurant had all sorts of Christmas decore, including a tree, bows, and a fireplace. Very clean and peaceful. Service was so friendly and accommodating to our large group. Food was great and reasonably priced. We're not from the area but we'd definitely go back. read more

The Amery Family Restaurant is a great place - 4 stars! This restaurant is similar Denny's or Embers or Perkins except better, cheaper, friendlier, and family owned. It's owned and operated by a hard working immigrant family to boot - awesome! They've managed to stay in business for 9 years (so far) so they're obviously doing something right. The hours are the same every day. You can order breakfast any time of the day. And the breakfast options are extensive and yummy. And pies - oh - the pies! They're all hand crafted by one talented woman at the Main Street Café in Bloomer, WI. I'd love to meet her and give her a big hug...her pies are heavenly. My friend ordered a pork ribs dinner and it was very good, cooked perfectly. I got a large corned beef hash eggs benedict breakfast with hash browns, a cup of soup, a slice of pie, and a bottomless cup of coffee for a modest 21 bucks! You really can't beat that, especially in these days of ridiculous food inflation. This isn't a snobby expensive and trendy farm-to-table chef type of place. And it isn't a 5 star destination spot. But if you're close by and hungry, you really can't go wrong stopping here. If I lived closer, I'd definitely eat here all the time. Thumbs up! -Maxx read more

attn chili: several months ago, i was asked to leave the family restaurant, citing, according to manager, maria, i was interfering with the customer's ability to enjoy their meals. today, 3-31-25, i called & asked maria if i could order carry out, & she said, "sure, what would you like?" but as soon as i asked her about seating arrangements, her response was, "ernie, that was not my call." who's call was it then? if i got kicked out for socializing, then everyone else should be as well. owner chili should review this decision, not just maria. read more

We found this online and drove an hour to come here. I was craving chicken fried steak for breakfast. This place is lovely!! Great service. The hostess seated us and asked if we wanted a booth or a table. She got us water and coffee immediately and creamer. Then we looked at the menu and the waitress came and checked twice until we ordered. The bus boy filled our coffees which never ran out. The food was homemade and fresh and delicious!! Best chicken fried steak ever! The atmosphere is very quiet and cozy and cute! Wow and they have a lunch and dinner menu and it had fettuccini Alfredo I noticed so I'll probably come back to try that sometime. Highly recommend this place. They hire people who have a job to do and they do it well and the customer feels like they're getting service which is so important. Good job guys nicely done!!! read more

Tremendous place with a big, diner style menu, friendly service and great prices. This is a go-to place for us when we want a comfort meal and don't want to cook. The chicken dumpling soup is always good and you can't beat the hot turkey sandwich or the Tuna melt. Pancakes, French toast, crepes and waffles are exceptional. We went for lunch today a little late, so it was partially filled when we arrived but quite thinned out when we left. They have a lot of tables, so can sit a lot but i'm not sure if that would slow down service. For a Saturday afternoon, they appeared to have enough staff. The tables were clean and we were seated right away. If you're family with Amery, there aren't a lot of dining options. This is a popular spot, they have a reasonable sized menu and serve breakfast all day. It seems like a place serving breakfast all day can appeal to everyone, if you can't find anything else to eat. With that being said, I ordered pigs in a blanket but wish I wouldn't have. It was a regular pancake, nothing special, the "pigs" were skinny and proportionately much smaller than the pancake. As what always seems to happen, the syrup did not appear on the table until after we all received our food --- I just don't get what the delay is in putting syrup on the table when you have ordered an automatic syrup food! But, the other 3 meals served to our table looked really great. They have new chicken tenders and the coating is thin and crispy and the chicken moist. Really delicious and light than what you think of tenders. A Frisco burger melt - really big, flavorful, and the French fries are very good, crispy on the outside and kind of meaty on the inside. And a meat lovers breakfast skillet. All the meats were represented, the eggs were ordered over easy so the yolk would break and blend in some extra creaminess. This was served with pancakes - yes the same plain pancakes I ordered...they are fine, not the worst, or best just nothing special. There were many choices that actually sounded good. My mom lives in this area so she visits here sometimes several times a week! My kids like to go there with her when they visit, again back to the charm of a place serving breakfast all day. They also have homemade pies and scones sometimes - some flavors are better than others, but at least you know it was made yesterday vs. a processed dessert made weeks ago and specially packaged to last an extended period of time! I would definitely recommend this place because it has a lot to offer based on the area. The prices are very affordable which is a welcome note for any restaurant these days. read more

Country American food. Hamburgers, steaks, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, you get the picture. We needed food, we stopped. The food was very cheap and truly o.k.. I would eat here again if I had to. My husband's steak was actually very good. The corn was like low quality cafeteria stuff. Fried green beans were bland, but nice and crunchy. The majority of the time we've been here it has been decent. Food is satisfying. One time I returned food because it was served cold. The service is usually good. Nothing exceptional. Some of the salad dressings, soups, and gravy taste and look like industrial food compared to higher quality restaurant.
