Doctors are great! But front staff lady named Sandy is the rudest person I have ever encountered in my entire life. She has absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and acts as if she is the gatekeeper to all information at the office but you need to beg and grovel to get any of it. My interactions with her makes me not want to visit bh skin again. It's only for the doctors that I go back. Also, walked in and saw one front desk staff sitting at the front desk to greet people with mask hanging on ear, not covering face. What???? She saw me and quickly covered up. There was no one in the waiting room at the time so maybe she thought it was ok, but seriously, we are in a pandemic here, please respect mask rules! I definetly recommend this smart demotalogist. I've had a rash on my hand and after other dermatologists who just kept saying allergies, Dr Mehrabi is smart, he asked the right questions about my past medical conditions, took pictures of the rash, and came up with the reason I have it, and he is CORRECT. It all makes sense now, the rash, pain, swollen, and I am finally in the right direction to cure it. He figured it out. Go to this doctor. I also like the way he doesn't try to sell you cosmetics procedure like the other derms do. He's more medical based! Five stars. read more

I saw Lauren today to have a mole checked out, and as weird as this might sound, I had a great time! It's so refreshing to see a knowledgeable, friendly, empathetic professional like Lauren. She offered me a range of options and thoroughly explained each one. I asked her questions about biopsies and how samples are analyzed, and she answered my questions clearly and concisely. After being seen by two dermatologists already who weren't sure what my rash was I'm glad I came to BHSkin. My mom recommended them highly after meeting the doctors and having a mole next to her eye removed. As soon as I met with the doctor ( unfortunately I don't remember her name) she knew exactly what my rash was! She informed me more about it and that it would go away so I was relieved. I was amazed by her knowledge and expertise which is why I'm here writing this review. When my biopsy came back it was exactly what the dermatologist at BHSkin had said it was! I been a client here for years and referred many people here. I really wanted to give them a chance but honestly i feel super ripped off. let's start by when i arrived the girl in the front wanted to charge me 469 for seeing a doctor. i was caught off guard for the feee. i questioned her about it and she said it's because i am a new client. i mentioned how can i be a new client when i been here many times, last time a year ago. while she was continuing telling me that's it's my fault i haven't been here a year her colleague took over and adjusted the price to reflect existing client which was about 289. still unhappy about the whole experience i wanted to see my doctor. i waited outside. i waited inside and finally the doctor arrived. it was i swear 4 minutes max. she quoted me and left for me to make my decision. i agreed to pay almost 800 dollars for something small thinking it would make it better. this is where i am mostly annoyed at. while i didn't love being overcharged i understand the fees but not getting what i wanted done. that's where i am utterly disappointed. I got stitches thinking my problem is fixed but now it's so much worse. . like how do you make a situation worse. i had another procedure i had to go back for but no thank you. i rather go anywhere else except give this place a chance. all they care about is money. before there was nice girls working here now avoid it at all costs! read more

Unfortunately, a very poor experience for me, from both the administrative staff and provider who saw me. I first called in the morning, before my appointment, to confirm that my insurance is taken. The receptionist I spoke to assured I would pay my co-pay. Once I arrived to the office, I was then told that my plan was not in-network and that I would have to pay a higher co-pay (2x the original cost). This is frustrating as it shows the lack of knowledge in once of the receptionist and it cost me both time and money. Because my situation was getting worse, I decided to pay the extra amount so I can get my consultation. Then, Dr. Sandhu provided me a quick, 5-minute generic eczema diagnosis and treatment without being concerned about my past history of skin infection for which my symptoms seemed to be matching. So in summary, I waisted time and more money than expected for a generic consultation. read more

Both the Glendale and Encino office are an hour from my house but the long drive is worth to see Dr.Mehrabi! I have been seeing him for years for my hormonal acne.Dr.Mehrabi has great bedside manner and never makes me feel like he is in a rush. I had an appointment with Dr.Mehrabi yesterday for my acne and scars.He honestly told me that I should not waste my money on lasers and allow the scars to fade. For my acne he said we have to fix the root of the problem and that is exactly what I want to hear from my dermatologist.He is not like other unethical dermatolgists who would take advantage of ones insecurities and recommend unecessary procedures. I've been coming here for several years and have never been disappointed. Dr. Mehrabi is so personable and professional. You really feel like he cares and is giving you a thorough exam. More often than not I end up seeing his PA Lauren Boos. She is fantastic!! Super sweet and knowledgeable. She gives me plenty of time to discuss my physical and cosmetic concerns. She's done Botox for me for years and I'd never go to anyone else. She offers a two week follow up for free to make sure you get the results you want. My only suggestion would be they need to train the reception staff to be as amazing as the staff behind the doors. They aren't always friendly. If I based my opinion of the whole business based on my interaction with the reception staff I might have gone elsewhere. read more

I had a lipoma on my forehead along my hairline that I wanted to get removed. I had my PCP refer me to Dr. Mehrabi. After reading reviews and seeing how many patients had issues regarding the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, I was kind I'd hesitant. I went with my gut and decided to trust my PCP. After all, he said he uses Dr. Mehrabi is his family dermatologist. I'm so glad I did! Every single person I came in contact with was friendly and helpful. Dr. Mehrabi was amazing! He let me know ahead of time that the removal procedure wasn't going to be easy due to where the lipoma was located. After a lot elbow grease, the lipoma was removed! I feel so much better and i don't have to look at that ugly bump on my head any longer. Please don't hesitate to see Dr. Mehrabi! read more

This is the third time I've been to the office and I was previously treated by another Dr or PA, but today's visits was GREAT because of Dr. Gebauer. Dr. Gebauer was FANTASTIC - she was very professional, warm, and caring. She listened to everything I had to say and spoke only AFTER I finished, she did not interrupt or speak over me like MOST doctors tend to do. She diagnosed my condition, prescribed medication, and steps I can take to help with my condition. Again, Dr. Gebauer was great and I will definitely be coming back to this office, especially if she is here. Also, Angie was excellent too! Angie was super sweet and caring. She made small talk because I was nervous. The office is very clean, waiting room had plenty of seats, and decorated for Halloween/ fall. The music in the exam room was so relaxing! It was calming and put me at ease. Overall excellent office, is highly recommend. Only thing I'd say is that the front office staff could be a tad bit friendlier. But they there nice and far from being mean/rude, I just like super friendly people. That's more of a personal thing than anything against the office staff. read more

Pria Patel was a godsend. I've been seeing her at the Glendale location for close to a year now. She was able to clear up my face, thankfully. I've always struggled with acne on and off, but when I turned 30, it went crazy out of no where - adult cystic acne and a yeast-based acne! We tried a bunch of diff stuff and finally got my face and chest under control. I'm so thankful for her, she's the best! The 3/5 is solely for the Glendale location's cancellation policy. I have an appt. today at 4pm, but Pria had said I only needed it if anything had changed with my face (it hasn't). I'm losing my insurance this Friday due to a new job, so after calling the pharm to make sure I had a refill left on my creams to fill one last time before my insurance lapses, I called the office to cancel my appt. I called at 9:30am (they open at 9). They told me I would be billed a $45 "late cancellation fee," because I didn't give a "full 24 hour notice." This was after I explained why I was cancelling - no need for appt, about to lose ins etc, but the secretary said I'd be receiving a bill anyway. $45 is $5 cheaper than my copay, so I said send me the bill instead of wasting the time, gas, and $$ away from work. Full 8 hours ahead of my appt, last appt time of the day at this location, and that was still $45. So extremely irritating. read more

I have seen both Dr. Mehrabi and Dr. Maggio (depending on how my schedule aligns with their availability) - both are excellent. Their treatments have always turned out well for me. Last year, I went in to see Dr. Maggio because I thought I was maybe having athlete's foot. After taking a close look, she flagged that the issue was not skin-related and could actually be neurological. She was the first of my healthcare providers to identify something I hadn't thought to consider, and it helped me go on to get the appropriate care I needed. PARKING TIP: If you have time, I would recommend parking along the residential street by Christian Books & Veggie Foods. Parking is free that way, and it's about a 7 min walk to the doctor's office from there. Be prepared with good walking shoes for a slight uphill walk onto the Glendale Adventist campus. read more

Didn't see Dr Mehrabi, even though made an appointment for him. Other doctor saw me for literally 2 minutes. They send my medication to totally different pharmacy, even though I specifically wrote my pharmacy name down on my entering application. I called them back, but they said pharmacy can't transfer my meds to my pharmacy. I end up going to that pharmacy ( which wasn't in my insurance network) and to my surprise find out they moved!! Had to call back to doctors office for explanation but stuff member hung up on me because I was dared to call their service sloppy. Awful service, unprofessional stuff. read more

I have been going to BHSkin dermatology since 2018, never had a complain until today 6/28/2022. On Sunday 6/26/2022 I got an email reminder for my appointment in Glendale with Priya Patel at 9:15. I check in through the patient portal and I got the notification I am good to go for my appointment. This morning when I went to check in at the front desk, I was told that Priya Patel was no longer working there. No one never took the time to call me and reschedule me with another doctor. In addition, the manager (I believe she was the manager) told me that there was no approval from my insurance and because I haven't been there in more then a year my PCP was supposed to submit a new referral. I just pointed it out to her that we made the appointment on this day so they could ask for the approval, as they did before. I didn't say anything at that moment, but I went back home and I checked my emails, my last appointment was 6/28/2021 so today would have been within the year, they were supposed to submit the paper work for the check up. I pretty much believe that they forgot to call me and let me know about the changes and the fact that they forgot to request the approval with the insurance and blame me for their mistakes. I would have much appreciated for them to admit it instead of making excuses. read more

Visited the place for the first time to remove a mole. The front office was very welcoming and courteous and made things very easy. I was taken in on time and the nurse inside and the physician assistant made me feel very comfortable and my mole was removed in no time. It's physician assistant explained all she was doing for me and made sure I was ok the whole time in the office. Thank you for the great experience.
