I won't be shopping here anymore. Bought an item off their website in store that said free shipping…read moreif you spent over $150, the item was $219. The website still wanted to charge me $99 shipping, but deducted $50, so $269 and change total. I asked young male associate if he could help me and if I was doing something wrong to not get the free shipping. After several tries he told me to go ahead and order it and that they would reimburse me the difference in shipping once the item arrived in store. I went in to get the item after getting an email saying it arrived. When I went in to get it I asked about the difference in return shipping. I was told by Jennifer that "they don't do that". I told her I was told by an associate they would and the promo wouldn't allow free shipping. She called customer solutions. Basically made me out to be a liar on the phone "He was told by someone else but I don't know who". I finally got so fed up with her attitude that I told her I don't want it, you've made me out to be a liar on the phone, I don't like being treated like I'm a liar. I want to return it and I'll take my business elsewhere if this is how I'm going to be treated as a customer. So off to a different local business to pay $229 for the same item and not to make felt like a complete piece of S**t.

Ive been a regular customer for the last 3 years and have only the best things to say about Kat and…read moreCassie. Kat isn't the cheapest Optometric Physician in Eugene - she is very good though and worth a few extra dollars. Theyve got a pretty good assortment of frames and can handle any kind of eye wear prescription. The service is worth it. At other places you'll be standing in line and feeling like a hamster. Kat and Cassie get you in and out and give you a pretty good combination package price for your exam and eye wear purchase. For example, an exam may be chargeable at $160 but the final bill is less than $500 for everything... That includes bi-focal lenses, UV, scratch protection for 2 yrs, and polarized lenses... the everything lense... 2-3 days is the waiting time for lenses.... and cashing in on the "scratch replacement" is EZ and worth it ! Clean, family and detail oriented, accurate, honest, quick, thorough these are the descriptors for this business... Very good! And thank you !

As someone who has volunteered at the California Raptor Center in Davis, CA for 3 years (and counting) and is also a primary handler/trainer of two education ambassadors (a Swainson's Hawk and a Peregrine Falcon), as well as an aspiring falconer, I am pretty well-versed in raptors. Therefore, Cascades Raptor Center was a no-brainer stop on our trip. It was a pretty warm day, as OR had just experienced a heat wave. The raptor center overall was very well-kept, with over 30 education ambassadors on display. All the enclosures were very clean and organized. There were various trainers in several enclosures working with their respective birds when we went, and one volunteer even had a peregrine falcon out on glove for the public to enjoy up close and to ask questions about. We actually made it just in time for the last flight show of the season, and boy was it a blast!! Hans the Eurasian-Eagle-Owl was the star of the show, but I thoroughly enjoyed the entire program. As you can see in the photos below, I snapped some lovely shots of the birds with my DSLR. Here I am sharing some of my favorites. The admission fee was worth it, especially as the raptor center mainly functions from donations. We also shopped at the little gift shop after for some mementos to take home. I would love to revisit on our next trip to OR!
