I use Rack to easily return things I order by mail from regular Nordstrom, where I have been a card holder since my college years and that was a literal lifetime ago, and this is much closer to my house than the Boise store. So, I was eager to see inside and said "yes" when I received an email from Nordstrom asking if I'd like to attend a pre-opening event. Based on my "look see" at the inside of the store, if you are a Rack-shopper-person and enjoy the Rack in Boise, this store seems much larger and brighter and new with lots of stock and friendly people so you'll probably love this one. Now to the pre-opening event itself, to suggest a different view than A.M.'s 3 star rating comments. She is correct that it did seem employees were letting in anyone who lined up in the very, very long line inside instead of checking the e-tickets sent to invitees. As someone alongside me in the tight space inside the store said, "So much for reservations only. PLEASE!" My response was that what looks feasible in plan sometimes doesn't work on the ground and improvising is necessary. Given the long line and that some people had several friends and family members with them (including multiple children including stroller age) it may be the employees felt they couldn't manage crowd behavior if they were reviewing tickets at the entry to allow only ticket holders access. I assumed, as A.M. did, that this would be a controlled gate. But when I showed up at 4:00 for the 4:00 to 6:00 entry option (the other option was 7:00 to 9:00 but that is after my bedtime) the line was already very long and growing rapidly. Nordstrom had employees on the sidewalk reminding people this with a ticket only event, and also asking them to please not block the entry doors of other retailers as people were doing that. There was also a sign at the Rack door saying "ticketed event" but many people ignored that. It also looked as if employees were metering in so that the store didn't get overwhelmingly full and waited for some to exit before allowing others in. I imagine for people with tickets who were waiting a long time in line that this was frustrating but it was necessary to avoid a crush in the store. Employees were lined up inside as shoppers entered using "applause sticks" to welcome us in and thank us for coming. They managed to keep this a couple of ticks short of chaos and some people were actually shopping for items and then lining up at check stands to buy them. They also had a DJ set up in the back and a free refreshments stand with cans of beer, sparkling wine, water, cookies and pretzels and people were lining up there too (free stuff has fans always it seems) and then strolling around the store munching and sipping. I applaud the Nordy's staff on the ground at the event for their friendly grace in all of this. As I was leaving an Nordy's employee standing outside the door thanked me for coming and said "come see us again on Thursday" (opening day). I laughed and said I would probably wait a couple of months until the horde abated and she chuckled, "Probably wise."

I've heard about Steelz but never have had the chance to visit until recently. I am very familiar…read morewith returns as I manage a team that oversees 14-18 online vendors with many of them being on Amazon, Walmart, and Costco. So, criss-cross apple sauce everyone STORYTIME I When you're a manufacturer/vendor and you agree to be on Amazon whereas you sell to Amazon and then Amazon sells to its customers, most vendors choose to pay Amazon 2% for handling the returns. This means that the returns do not go back to the manufacturer or the vendor. Please note that in Seller Central, there is also a similar program but some sellers can opt to have returns returned to them. Steelz from what I saw on their shelves seems to be a home for returning goods from various stores and platforms. It also looks like Steelz is the local recipient of left-over stock that Costco and others don't want on their shelves anymore. STORYTIME II Ever since the asterisk in the upper right-hand corner of the price matrix sign at Costco? If you see the asterisk, it means that the item has a number of days before it leaves Costco. That item may or may not sell out. If it doesn't sell out, meaning sealed, factory new items are left over, Steelz will most likely buy them at a discount ( liquidated price agreed upon with Costco and others ) and then Steelz is now the owner of the inventory of sealed and new items as well as any returns that Steelz wants to buy. While I walked through Steelz, I noticed many items from Costco. I couldn't determine whether or not the pricing at Steelz was indeed a deal. In my opinion, a couple of dollars saving wasn't worth it for me but I do see value for customers who are not Costco members. If didn't have a Costco membership but wanted to shop at Costco, then Steelz is potentially a great deal. Steelz also has many Kirkland products in smaller individual sizes like toilet paper and paper towels. We didn't buy anything at Steelz that day but I would be interested in going back and doing some more looking and pricing. There's been some discussion about the return policy or returning products overall. I can't speak on this topic since I have not purchased anything. If I do purchase anything and if I have to return anything, I'll update this review.

And no it wasn't written on the box. The scale was also dirty. Then I got a box with two cast iron pans. Because of history, I decided to open them in the parking lot. The, big one was used with rust. All in it grease all down the sides of the pans grease all over the bottom with rust, and the protective handle was breaking off in tiny pieces. Needless to say , 13 minutes after purchase, I was refused my money back and had to get a Shop card. When its the stores fault, the store needs to issue a refund. The Prices are more than Costco's prices. at least when you go to Costco, you get great customer service, refund, and reliability. BTW where is the owner?

Costco has a good warranty policy and I like Michelin tires that they sell. The tire department at this location has broken 3 lug nuts in two tire rotations. I talked to the manager of the tire department to let him know of my concerns and asked him what's going on in his department. He gave me the excuse that my car maker has problems with lugs breaking. I explained to him that I have had the old tires rotated for 65,000 miles on a regular basis at the dealership and never had a problem with lug nuts being broken. I told the manager that this is a poor excuse coming from a manger of a department and try a different excuse. He finally admitted that he has a lot of new people in his department and is trying to train them as fast as he can. Next I went to second manager in charge of this store due to the head manager being too busy to talk to me as a concerned customer. I explained to the second in charge manager my concerns and disappointment with the lack of leadership in the tire department and what had happened to me with the broken lugs. I also explained that his current manager in the tire shop is the wrong person to lead that department! I also explained to him the amount of time it has wasted me having to take my car to the dealership every time to get the broken lugs fixed. Also that I have no confidence in having my tires rotated at this location anymore! He did say he was sorry for the inconvenience from this issue and they are looking into adding another manager to oversee the tire department to hopefully improve the quality of service. I would absolutely not recommend getting your tires at this store location! I feel the management team at this location needs improvement from top to bottom!
