The manager is the rudest person I have ever met and the selection is terrible too. Why bother with this place?

I, masked in N95 - no cough, went to pick up the script and the woman behind the desk asked my info, saw what I was there for and freaked out on me: "YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE! IF I GET COVID, I COULD DIE!" I responded with "WELL I HAD CANCER!" She wouldn't help me so I went to the front desk to pay for my items. I asked for a manager, and none were there. A customer who witnessed this unprofessional behavior followed me to the front and said she was so sorry that happened to me and saw how poorly I was treated. The employee told me "they didn't have that (Paxlovid) here." I then checked the website and it says Rite Aid carries it. I call the pharmacy and wait 36 minutes on hold to talk to a Pharmacist, who was very nice. Turns out Rite Aid's supplier hasn't sent them Paxlovid so she said I can have another pharmacy transfer the script. Helpful! I called Safeway and they picked up the phone immediately. Have Paxlovid in stock, no problem. They fax over a request at 2:45pm. My husband went to pick up after 5 pm and Rite Aid, hadn't yet sent over the script. Called again, no wait time, and took care of it. Safeway, Freddy's, and Walmart all have the drug in stock and won't treat you like a leper. I posted online in the Newport FB group about this horrible experience and this employee has a long history of treating people poorly and has been reported multiple times. Why is she still employed? Why is someone who can die of Covid working behind the desk AT A PHARMACY?I Also, a suggestion: if you don't want sick people coming into a store that's called a PHARMACY, put a big sign out front directing customers to drive-thru! Tell them you don't carry the drug. Have masks available and hand sanitizer at the door! Also, call people who have the drug called in and tell them you don't have it and then they don't come for it. Problems all solved and no customer will be treated with disrespect - against Rite Aid's Code of Ethics and poor business!

The only cashier working was in the make-up area and the poor girl had 10 people in line. I felt bad for her!! Finally as I get to the front of the line a cashier comes and asks me if I want to check out to follow her. She says sorry they had no one up there sooner but she was at lunch. (Ok, I understand people gotta eat.) Anyhow, I proceed to check out but she tells me I cant; in order to get cash back I have to buy something...and even then one can only get $20 maximum out per transaction. So...I ran and grabbed the closest thing I could find that my husband would enjoy: two packs of zingers!! Viola! I have my two items!! Well, I get back in line and got the dirtiest looks. I explained to her what was going on and apologized that I had to get two $20s to pay my postage at the Mail Depot. Regardless the cashier was still a bit ticked off at me. *sigh* At least the lady at the Mail Depot waited for me to return. And my husband also benefited with Zinger snacks so it wasn't a total wash out. NOTE: Pharmacy hours are NOT the same as the store hours on weekends. This morning, I called at 9 AM when they opened to verify they have a COVID dose for a 5 year old and they told me yes. I asked if a prescription was needed, they told me no. I get there after a 30 min commute and they tell me that he needs a prescription. I wasn't worried about that because I expected them to do this honestly... called my son's ped office and they said they'd fax one over but that it was a weird request. During this is Hope process (already 25 minutes in....) they asked me if he was healthy. I feel as if they profiled him for being non-verbal and disabled (I was holding him on my shoulders). I told them yes, he is healthy, but that he does have a genetic disease. the they started to act weird. The pharmacist (Sam Rallins) came over and told me that, by Oregon law, he cannot give a vaccine to any child under the age of 7. I asked to see the Pfizer and Moderna boxes, they denied. I asked why they specifically told me that it was okay to come in on both phone calls (yesterday and this morning) when I was very clear that it was for a 5 year old.... they couldn't answer. I asked them for guidance on where else to go, he told me that no pharmacist will administer it to him (they are out at his peds office, unfortunately). I genuinely felt like them profiled my son, and that Sam felt uncomfortable administering the vaccine. I could respect that, but he told me that is not the case. Why tell me to come in with my 5 year old, and have me stand there holding him on my shoulders, and juggling everything else you're asking me to do. I asked him To explain his rationale to my pediatrics as I had them in the line and they were confused. He acted grossed out and said he wasn't going to talk on my phone (that's fair) so i put it on speaker and stuck my arm through the window. He backed up and was intentionally uncooperative. My mind is literally blown.... he's a dick, I'll leave it at that.

The other day my wife and I stopped by the Walgreens pharmacy drive thru (McMinnville) to pick up…read moremy meds. The window gal was slow and when she finally sent us the meds thru their tube-shoot my wife pulled the basket out and all the contents fell on the ground. She had sent it upside down. My wife pushed the call button and explained to her that all the contents has fallen on the ground. She said "ok" and then giggled and said "have a nice day." She never apologized. Upon looking at our meds we noticed that the box that had our meds was very ruffled, almost crushed. We had our family in the car and were on a tight schedule so we chose to give a call back when we arrived at home later that day. My wife spoke with the pharmacist on floor at that time (Michelle), and explained what had happened and that there was no apology and that the box looked almost crushed. She asked if everything was ok with the meds. We said that it looks like it's ok, but we didn't know for sure. Now, usually when you call to complain about something that person is supposed to input this conversation into a database for reference. However, that was never done. And this is the Pharmacist. So much for due diligence. In retrospect, we should have just returned the damaged box and told them we would not accept it that way, but like I said, we had other things to attend to. Well, a few days later my wife went to use my medication and when she tried to use it, it was not working. It was definitely broken. Grrr... We drove back to the pharmacy and spoke with a very unemotional pharmacy tech (all of them seem to have worst attitude at the store) and she cut us off telling us to go to the next window and we could speak with the Pharmacist. Upon meeting with Mr. Congeniality (and I say that with the most sarcastic tone... his name is Nathan (he has a beard). Beware!), he had us wait for 20mins as he "looked into it." My wife finally went to see what the delay was and he said that he needed to review the cameras to basically make sure "WE" were not the ones who damaged the box/medication. ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME?!?!?! NONE of the medication was used and we didn't notice that it was broken until we pulled it out to use it a few days later. We said that the damage was NOT on us. Now why on earth would I damage my own medication??? Unbelievable!! A few mins later he called us up to the counter and said "I disagree". He basically was calling us liars! What a POS!!! He then explained that he was the one who dispensed the meds to us that day. So I then called him the one who was the liar as he should never had dispensed a physically damaged box like that. He said "well, wasn't damaged when I dispensed it." Un-freaking-believable!!! We should have just brought it back that same day. He was heartless, showed no emotion or empathy in any way and was extremely dismissive. This ordeal was horrible for my wife and I. I have used them for years and we will NEVER go the this Walgreens again. I would highly suggest that anyone think twice before using them as your pharmacy provider. I'm still so mad as I type this. I can usually let things go...but.... @#$%^&*.

Listened to the car check in next to me, before someone came and checked me in, and said it'd be an hour. TWO HOURS LATER, we come back and are told they haven't even started yet. We didn't have all day for terrible service so we just left. As I walked to my car there was a lady pulling up to ask about service time. I warned her that they were terrible and she should go elsewhere. The guy that was checking her in asked if I had had an appointment, which I didn't, and then proceeded to tell me everyone else did and that's why I had to wait so long.. I told the guy he was lying because I heard the people being checked in and he just said "have a good day". While there was only one person staffed and he informed me that it would be a bit longer than usual, I was the first car there at 7:45am. I arrived for an oil change and to have my tires rotated/balanced. It has been two hours and I've only just received the text stating that my service has started. After calling and speaking with Automotive to verify this, I was told that the oil change was still happening (nearly two hours after having dropped off my car) and that it would be at least another hour. I can't, in good faith, recommend this location.

I usually commute by bike, so that's a bigger deal, especially since it takes some cycling on less than ideal streets to get there. I recently needed some wound management supplies. On the way home, my friend stopped by Bi-Mart first. I am a big fan. They didn't have what we needed. We went by Rite-Aid knowing they are usually the most expensive. They apparently carried one of the items we needed, but they were out of stock. We did take note of the price. I waited in line to ask the pharmacist in case they had some other things in back that weren't on the shelf. They told me to go talk to the other part of the store as they just dispense medication. Another line, and I got a cold, "Nope; if it's not on the shelf we ain't got it." We were going to head out to the other Bi-Mart and Safeway next, but decided to stop at Rice's on the way. I am glad we did. My friend didn't want to stop there, but my friend's mind has now been changed. Not only did they have all the items we needed, the prices were much more affordable. Did I mention the staff is very friendly? No. I guess I didn't. Well, they are. Helpful and friendly. Even though it's out of the way, I think I'm going to tell my doctors to change all my prescriptions to Rices. If that helps keep them in business, it's a no-brainer. Small independent shop that cares about the community, unlike Rite-Aid which is a huge corporation - allegedly number 148 in the Fortune 500. Far more personable. It reminds me of growing up in the '70s. One of our neighbors was a pharmacist at an independent drug store nearby. We always used that pharmacy for the same reasons I'll always use Rice's now.
