I'll go to bat for Walgreens pharmacy. They're understaffed, underpaid, and underappreciated, and they're doing everything they can to get the job done. It's not their fault you don't know how insurance works; take that up with your CCO. It's not their fault your copay's high; again, take that up with your CCO. It's not their fault they're out of stock, not their fault you're getting generic and not name brand, and certainly not their fault that your doctor's office hasn't sent them the prescription you need. The system is broken, and for working in a broken system, they're doing a great job. I also don't attempt to pick up my medication until I get a notification saying it's ready. Walgreens, both store and pharmacy, was already understaffed before the nearby Rite Aid closed and many people moved their prescriptions to Walgreens. The number of pharmacy employees hasn't changed, and now they're slower than ever. I just stood in line almost ten minutes while the single clerk available worked the drive-up window and the people standing in line to pick up prescriptions were completely ignored. I didn't have time to wait any longer and walked out without my prescription. It's not entirely the fault of the overworked pharmacy staff. The store manager needs to hire more people. read more

The worst! I've been coming here for years and it's just gotten worse and worse sometimes you pull up to get your prescription and there's a handwritten sign telling you to go to a different Walgreens because I guess there's nobody there. I can't really go to a different Walgreens if my prescription has been filled here. Sometimes there's a sign in the window saying there's no pharmacist how many times do I have to come back to get my prescription?? read more

Yup. Walgreens takes a loooong time to fill rx. But, I found the holy grail of time wasted waiting for a rx order to be filled. So, feeling the effects of cold/flu. Didn't want to go to into the store (one of the meds required ID). Didn't want to wait in the drive thru. Aha! Call the order in and pickup curbside. Yes! Long story short sent the other half in after they told us they knew nothing of said order. Got sent to pharmacy after being told it would be at the front checkout. Nope. Not there. Sent to pharmacy. Nope. Not there. Sent to photo. Nope. Not there. WTF! About 45 minutes of craziness and raising voices the issue was solved. The lesson of this horrible situation is :DON'T ORDER AHEAD! DANGER! This is my mom's pharmacy. She saw the doctor this morning and he called in two prescriptions. I called to see what time they would be ready and they said 1:30. So we get there and they will now not be ready until 3-4 because they just didn't get to them. When they tell someone a time knowing it would be her kids picking them up they should have them ready. Now we have to drive clear across town to get them. I would never recommend this pharmacy. read more

So much to list. The employees are surly and incompetent. They screwed up on medications, filling some and not others. Some medications they didn't have in stock. Takes a long time to come in. The inside of the stores are dirty. The outside looks like a refuse collection station. Garbage all over the parking lot. Reminds me of seeing Detroit, MI. I moved all my prescriptions to Fred Meyer on Market st. The are a step up, but they are screwed up too. I won't set foot in Walgreens ever again. read more

Pharmacy: Rude, terse incompetent jerks. Worst customer service ever. 23 minutes on hold! When they finally pick up, they can't find anything, tasks not done, don't care, act like it's my fault. This happens EVERY MONTH. It's like Groundhog Day. So done. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. I spend half my life waiting on these lines. As I'm sitting here first in line at the drive thru, it has been 10 minutes and I haven't even been asked what I need. I usually go inside where I wait at least 15 minutes but today thought "hell maybe this drive thru will be faster." Nope! There's no escaping their inefficiency. I only go here because it's close to my house. This place is abysmal. And of you're about to say "but COVID and service is different now", this has been like this since 2018 at least. read more

customer service is not even a concept to the employees at this Walgreens. I was told that they didn't have a medication in stock even though we had placed the refill order a week before. I had to move the prescription to another Walgreens in order to get it filled. Other prescriptions came back with a co-pay, even though we have double coverage. Staff does not take any time to work through problems. I do consider the fact these people are severely overworked, which is a management issue that needs to be addressed. read more

This is the third time I've come to pick up prescriptions and there is no pharmacist on duty. It's 2:25pm. They say the pharmacy is closed from 1:30 to 2pm. It is a waste of time to depend on this Walgreen's. Time to transfer rxs to a pharmacy that gives a sh*t. read more

worst walgreens i have ever been to places an order for pickup and wasn't ready for three days. staff is completely lazy and refuses to pickup the phone. go to literally any other of the walgreens in salem both lancaster locations are better. read more

I won't be coming back here and I don't think anyone should. Twice they have cancelled my appointments with the pharmacy because they randomly close and then I have to make another appointment, which due to covid, takes a month or more. They don't give you any option and just put you in the back of the line. If I could do zero stars then I would. read more

Walgreens in general are all the same to me. Consistency is good as I can always walk in and find something quick. I do give these guys at this location serious props as I called in looking for an elusive product that not even the Walgreens warehouse had in stock and four different people searched while I held on the phone. THey had the last two of the particular product in all of Salem. I went down from across town and bought the product. Wish I could've thanked the specific individuals. They were great. read more

Most of the staff in the pharmacy are great. However, getting this place to fill a prescription for Claritin D is like trying to brush a hyperactive three year olds teeth. You have to pin them down and force them to let you do it. Other prescriptions - no problem - Claritin D - good luck! read more

Trying to buy a walker for my aunt who is very weak and Ill. Price online is 89.99 and available in store. Store rings me up at $139.99. Manager was very rude and sent a different person up front who refused to price match it telling me "prices in store are different than online and we don't match". With that logic why isn't everyone shopping online? I won't be doing business with Walgreens. What a scam. read more

There is not enough space here to address my complaint.First, I am not leaving my contact info because it does not say if it is confidential or not.I think this employee has some issues and I don't want to risk being troubled by her further. Also you require an employee name, not just a receipt. So I called the store and spoke w Mallory offering a receipt number to find out who was working that day at the front counter and Mallory did not feel comfortable giving me her name at first. I came in on Friday at 2pm after taking my dog who was hemorrhaging to the local emergency Vet hospital. He was a wonderful dog, who became ill around 5am that morning. We were shocked at his sudden illness of HGE. My vet lives 45 minutes away. He hospitalized him for the day and my options were to leave him in their outside kennel all night or we could take him home but we had to pick him up on time before their close and return him daily for hospitalization to see if he could pull through. They wanted me to arrive again at 4pm. I still had tons of things to do. I ran into Walgreens thinking it would be quick. 1 new male employee took alot of time helping me find ortho pads and also bed protectors, but it wasn't his fault. I didn't even tell him about my emergency (why should I, really....) still he was polite and got the mgr to tell him where to find what I needed. I approached the cash register and Laurel received a call being very friendly on the phone with the caller wanting to address their issue, and there was a customer in front of me. Laurel was chatty with the phone caller and I saw she noted as I checked my watch. When she got off the phone I asked if there was another checker open. Makeup had another customer she was talking to likely about some needs and I ran over to photo but they were busy too, so I came back still the next in line and she was chatting it up with the customer who didn't say 1 word to her, I am sure she was not interested and even seemed uncomfortable as Laurel began using innuendo against me. "Some people are always in a hurry, they don't understand how it's my job to be friendly...and so on and so on..." I will bet she went on fo 4 minutes as she rang up 2 items...she clearly had an agenda and finally I said, "Look, I'm sorry, we have a medical issue we have to deal with....PLEASE, I need to get out of here as soon as possible." Then she just got angry and said, "that's the problem with you people. You know I deserve respect TOO! I have to do my job a certain way. If you are late today, you should have left home earlier instead of trying to get me to go faster. Just get up earlier in the morning and you won't have to go through this." How dare anyone speak to a customer in such a way under any circumstances? That next morning we lost my beautiful dog....and with it I remember the pain Laurel caused me during one of my worse days. I am assuming she is efficient, but she should be in the back room taking inventory because that lady has issues and the store manager looks the other way. read more

Busy Saturday and the pharmacy is closed midafternoon? Get some coverage! The parking spots are tiny and you practically have to be a toothpick if someone parks next to you much less get little kids buckled is impossibly. Walgreens seriously get it better! read more
