Spaghetti and meatballs
Emily T.

Yay! Finally a restaurant in Newton that served an array of pasta options! We waited until the hype died down and the liquor license kicked in as we enjoy a nice glass of wine with our meal. We were both pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the price. I had the lobster ravioli with shrimp and we all know where we live and how hard it is too cook frozen seafood, they nailed it. It tasted like maybe it was refreshed with a hint of lemon? The texture and cook was perfect on the shrimp and you want to take a bath in the "pink sauce". It tastes something along the lines of a vodka sauce, but not quite. He had the spaghetti and meatballs. Don't let the basic name and look fool you. The meatballs were so tender and flavorful and the fresh sauce on top was perfect. Others may complain about decor, but that is not what's important for us. Quality was fabulous and the service was just fine. We were already planning out our next menu choices and visit before we left.

Quick note, the Name is BiAggios, not Biaggi's.

Far better food than Olive Garden! Best local chain Italian! The raviolis were my favorite and the chicken vesuvio was a hit too!

Probably too big to do anything well. Service is was below par. I walked in said hi. This is my first time. What do you recommend. He just pointed at the pre-made pies. I made my selections paid and sat down. They brought over my slices after reheating them in the oven on too small paper plates. No follow-up. Only 1 other table with customers.

I hadn't really researched it…read moreother than knowing people said they did pizza by the slice and by looking at their menu online before we headed that way. Parking is great. It's in the same building as Filet Steakhouse. Down on the Southeast corner... It's not exactly what I expected. Don't expect the atmosphere of Baratta's, Latin King, or Cosi Cucina. The front dining area is more informal. Don't take that wrong though... I'm not taking anything away from it. The place has a great vibe to it and I felt comfortable. I loved the NYC themed decor and the look of the place. There is at least one more dining area called the Manhattan room. I'm not sure if this is a private room or what it exactly takes to get in there... It sure looked pretty classy through the doorway though! The process is more or less order at the front counter. Pay when you order. Seat yourself. Self serve drinks (Coke products). Silverware and napkins can be picked up by the drink station. While you order at the counter the food is brought to your table when it is ready. Seating is all low top tables and chairs along with a few stools at the bar. I noticed a few people picking up menus, going to a seat and browsing the menu and then going up to order. This is probably what I would do next time if I was ordering anything but the pizza by the slice. The service we had was really good. From the gentlemen at the front counter and register...along with the staff who were working the floor dropping off food and bussing tables. The menu is quite extensive! Everyone can find something. Appetizers, soup, salads, pizza by the slice, round pies, square pies, thin and crispy, gluten free... Calzones, hot and cold sandwiches, pasta dishes, chicken and shrimp entrees, salmon, desserts, and kids meals. While I do like pizza... And they have a HUGE selection of pies in all kinds of combinations...by the slice or baked fresh... We both tried pasta dishes. 1x Shrimp Parmigiana 1x Stuffed Shells sub alfredo 2x House salads (creamy parm and blue cheese) 2x Fountain drinks Complimentary bread with our entrees The wait for our food was short. Our salads came out first. Everything was fresh and tasted good. One thing... Some of the pieces of lettuce could have been chopped a smaller. Made it a little harder to manage than it should have been... Easy fix though... Make sure you grab a knife. I'm not sure if that's normal or if it was a one off. Not a big deal. The pasta dishes hit the table along with the complimentary bread... If you go here just for pizza by the slice... You're really missing out! Their pasta dishes would easily rival any of the places I listed above when I mentioned atmosphere. The portions are large. I had to do something that I don't normally do. I took some home for the next day. I'm usually the guy who gets irritated because someone writes... "I can easily make three meals out of what I was served...!" When I order the same thing where they are...and I clean my plate. Lol All in all a great meal and I think we spent in the mid-$60 range before tip. Definitely going to back to check out some of the other items on the menu... And the pizza! https://nonnaspizzapastas.com/

To kick things off, they brought out the complimentary bread basket and signature dipping oil. The oil blend is always a great start to the meal and ours was freshly stocked. For an appetizer, we tried the Calamari Fritti. The presentation was beautiful--lightly golden and piled nicely--definitely a strong start visually and texture-wise. For the main event, I ordered the Fettuccini with Lobster. The execution on the kitchen's part was a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, the pasta itself was cooked perfectly al dente, holding its structure exactly how you want a thick noodle to. On the other hand, the sauce fell a bit flat for me--it just felt a little mid-tier and lacked that rich, memorable flavor pop you look for in a luxury pasta dish. The atmosphere walks a nice line between a casual weeknight spot and a slightly more upscale evening out. It's got a warm, energetic vibe that works well for a date night or a family get-together without feeling overly stuffy or pretentious. I would go 4 1/2 star if I could but it leans more towards 5.

I ordered Chilean Sea Bass, Lobster Corn Bisque, Side Salad, and Key Lime Pie while each dish was tastefully seasoned-- the wait time was extremely long due to the special day and crowd. The atmosphere was celebratory and there were numerous exchanges between tables. The mood was every bit of happiness and total food enjoyment. Although busy -- the chefs made sure each dish was heaped with a labor of love with an eye appealing presentation. My thanks to the chefs and wait staffers Milli and Emily for going the extra mile to help out and serve with a smile even when the crowd is challenging and off the chart demanding with special food requests.

Nice drink menu (I enjoyed their take on the old fashioned) with cocktails and a nice craft beer selection. Everyone loved their food, from the barley soup to the ravioli, burger, Brussels salad, and the salmon I got. Hidden gem perhaps was their incredible dessert selection. The cherry tart was a pleasant surprise and the salted caramel chocolate cake will def fix a choc craving. Would gladly come back.

Pork Belly app: thick cut pork belly in lettuce cups, topped with sweet thai glaze, pickled carrots, onions, celery, mint, thai basil, cilantro, scallions and crushed peanuts. A tad sweet for me but overall this was a great app. Slice of Sourdough: delish. Chicken Japchae: since my mom has celiac disease, we were very excited to see this on their menu - dining out with her can be a challenge. Especially at a place specializing in breads! The only unfortunate part about this dish is (I think) they forgot they already salted the chicken and salted it again...and then again. I'm not one to say something is too salty, I love my sodium but this was mouth-puckering salty. Inedible, actually, but the noodle dish itself was SO GOOD that she set the chicken aside and ate the entree. NY Strip Steak: perfectly med-rare, served with a garlic-rosemary potato pavé (like a potato casserole of sorts), roasted broccolini and a house steak sauce that was similar to a demi glaze. Not a bite left - no leftovers with this one. I ate the whole dang thing. Myself. And I have zero regrets. Crème Brûlée: I also couldn't leave without ordering a crème brûlée because there are some really bad ones out there. This did not disappoint. I also took home a Dubai Chocolate tort, Raspberry Crumble and a Flourless Chocolate cake. ZERO regrets but if you love Dubai chocolate then you know there are some discusting renditions of this in the market. However, the Dubai chocolate tort at Provisions Lot F is . I can't even describe how delicious this was and is worth the drive to Ames just for this dessert. If you're north of DSM for a game or whatever, I highly recommend Provisions! I'm already scheming a way to get back there...soon!
