Great authentic food! Good selection and prices reasonable. The burrito, papusas, and sopes are my favorites.

Very good authentic Mexican food...GREAT freshly made corn tortillas. It is located in the old mall which is essentially empty.

The restaurant is located in an old style Pizza Hut building sitting next to a Super 8 Motel on US 212 as you enter Redfield, SD. The interior was color and well decorated. The staff was friendly, and the menu choices were many. The prices were very affordable. The service was good, quick, and friendly. My wife and I both enjoyed our meal very much. The food was bland, forgettable, and absolutely nothing worth going out of your way for. I got the steak tacos and a soda, and there was nothing about the meal that made me think, "I'd come back here." The margaritas were even worse. Our entire party ordered them, and we were honestly wondering if they had forgotten the alcohol. They tasted like frozen sugar water--basically a slushy with no noticeable tequila. Then there's the salsa. Apparently, La Cabana has decided that the complimentary salsa is enough, because if you want MORE salsa, they charge you $1.50. I have eaten at Mexican restaurants all over the country, and I have never had a restaurant nickel-and-dime me for another serving of salsa. It's salsa, not caviar. The service was somehow worse than the food. Our young waiter had the personality of a wet paper towel and acted like our table was an enormous inconvenience. He never checked on us, never asked if we wanted refills, offered absolutely no recommendations, and generally acted like doing the bare minimum of his job was a tremendous burden. At one point, we were basically afraid to ask him for anything because of the attitude we were getting. Overall, this place feels like a restaurant that has completely given up on trying to provide a good experience. Mediocre food, overpriced margaritas, bizarre salsa charges, and miserable service. Would I come back? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not. If you're hungry and La Cabana is your only option, you might as well stop at a gas station. At least you won't have to pay $1.50 for another packet of salsa.

And they always serve you good food and generous portions for a good price. I like that they don't have many screens here. When my husband and I eat out, we don't want to watch TV together, we want to visit. There are places to sit if you want to watch the TVs, but I really like that they don't have many in the restaurant. They remodeled recently, thankfully they didn't change the things that I loved about the restaurant before, just the entries/foyer area and the exterior. They have a nice kids menu that is a coloring page, they have helium balloons that they give to the kids at the front desk when you're done eating, and they serve everyone a little dessert sopapilla when you get your bill. Very family friendly. Would definitely recommend eating here!

I've tried nearly everything on the menu over the years and I keep coming back for more. Anytime friends and family visit, this is where we go - you should try it too!
