Stopped by for lunch after seeing the Corn Palace. They had a vegetarian menu which is what brought us in to try out. Very tasty chips, so light and crisp! We ate the whole bowl and the salsa was great. Interesting mix of clients, many were in the construction trades, a few older couples, some young families. So everyone is welcome here. The booths have Los 3 Amigos stenciled on each backboard. Portions are generous and the food tasted pretty good. If you're looking for a reliable Mexican restaurant, this fits the bill. I came here on a recommendation from a colleague. I'm only I. Town for a few months and always try to get some comfort food wherever I go. Being from So. Cal originally and now from TX, I have eaten my fair share of Mexican food, and I love it. I was immediately greeted by the host and seated. I ordered my tea, and he came back with that and chips/salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa flavorful, but it needs heat. It seemingly had no peppers in it at all, but it was still good. I ordered the chilaquiles with beef (not steak as the menu says) as it was the 1st thing to jump out at me. They came in a decent amount of time. I wouldn't say they were fresh as not one chip had a crunch to it. They were good, but sweet. It had a very pasta sauce sweetness to it. The rice was fluffy and moist, but had no real taste to it. The beans were okay and needed salt. I won't likely order this again as it didn't really sit on my taste buds in a good way. I will go back and try something else. I will always give a place a 2nd chance, but never a 3rd. read more

Stopped here during a road trip and was so excited to receive this warm comfort food. I browsed the vegetarian section of the menu and got the vegetarian quesadilla but switched the flour tortilla to a corn tortilla. Stopped into Los 3 Amigos for lunch. I love Chimichangas so wanted to order one. There were two options. One had ground beef which I don't care for the other shredded beef. I ordered the shredded beef dinner. When the food arrived they brought the ground beef dinner. I made the waiter aware of the error, did not ask to have the meal redone as we didn't have the time. They still charged me for the more expensive meal even though he knew he brought the wrong meal. The meal wasn't good as the chimi tasted like a taco, probably will not go again. read more

Everything was great! The service was great--they modified our orders and even had homemade hot sauce. They have a nice selection of beer on tap as well as bottled, and the original margarita was good as long as you like it on the sweet side. The food was an 8/10 on my scale of comparison to an authentic mexican restaurant. For example: they have great stuffed poblanos but no birria options or street corn. This restaurant is beyond great. Huge menu, great service and as good Mexican food as I've had anywhere. We had shrimp entrees and my gosh, they can cook shrimp like pros. I was amazed not only at the perfectly cooked shrimp, but at the number of them in the entrees. Seriously good food here. The service was very fast and our waitress was great. Good selection of ice cold beers- domestic plus Victoria, Pacifico and Dos. Margaritas and wine too. Cute and clean inside, will make this a must do when in Mitchell. read more

Without a menu, it was helpful that the person answering the phone was friendly and helpful as I put together my order. Needed to get some lunch on our drive from Rapid City to Chicago earlier this month. Was VERY hesitant to try Mexican Food in the middle of South Dakota, but boy were we SO pleasantly surprised. Great food, servers were so helpful and kind. Just wish we could have stayed there to eat, as it was a nice little place, but taking it to go worked and they were very accommodating AND quick. Suggest stick with soft drinks or beer as I'm not sure there was tequila in the margaritas.Very friendly staff. Clean spacious restrooms. If you have an RV or horse trailer, it's easy to park there and has good road access. Very close to I-90 off exit 330. More than I could eat at supper for about $12 They offer a lunch menu also. Our food came out so fast we didn't have time to fill up in the chips, lol! The food is phenomenal and the service is great! Definitely recommend and we'll return when we pass through again.
