Just ok. The service was terrible and I wouldn't recommend this place. Godfathers pizza was way better

The warm wooden digs and lively vibe make it a proper escape in Watertown, SD, though the only drawback is the constant buzz of chatter drowning out what should be some good ol' Dropkick Murphys tunes. I was particularly impressed by the great pastrami on homemade rye--tender, tangy meat stacked high on fresh-baked bread that could make even a New Yorker do a happy jig. Their bartenders are absolute gems, slinging drinks and banter with the charm of seasoned storytellers who somehow remember your name after one visit. One quirky touch is how the floors creak underfoot, like they're gossiping about all the pints spilled before you. Strangely enough, the soup of the day was tequila, a boozy curveball that had the whole place toasting with confused delight and empty bowls. The house brews hold their own, pairing like old friends with the hearty grub. All in all, Dempsey's is a witty, wonderful Watertown, SD gem.

Most of our food was tasty, but there were a few oddities. The side salad was fresh, and we enjoyed the warm bread with honey butter that came out before the food. The crab legs were the highlight of the meal- they came out with melted butter that had a little candle beneath to keep it warm. That being said, the 6 oz steak that came with the crab legs (surf and turf) was way overcooked. I ordered the 12oz boneless ribeye. While it was cooked medium rare like I ordered, the fat was unrendered and several pieces were very chewy as a result. It was hard to cut on a metal plate. The caramelized onions were far from being caramelized; they were under seasoned and undercooked (still crispy). There was a pile of way overcooked green beans on the plate that had no seasoning. Who uses mushy green beans as a garnish? We wanted to love our experience. Overall it was okay. The food fell flat from our expectations.

When you first walk in (Thursdays) you will be host with a strong scent of slightly rotten crab legs ::::spooky:::: . Be prepared to wait to be seated for a while as the wait staff prepares your "haunting" experience. Once seated you will be handed slightly crumpled menus with a wide selection of horrific meal options. The selection may look like a normal American restaurant menu but don't be fooled they will whip up a scary concoction. My personal favorite is the blackened pasta (my receipt said Cajun pasta so I don't know what I actually ate of the two). You will first receive a normal salad but then you will receive the most terrifyingly disgusting pasta you have ever seen. Grease soaked angle hair pasta, mushrooms that are somehow burnt, uncooked pepper strings, and a cheese sauce that has no flavor whatsoever other than the lowrys seasoned salt sprinkled on top. The plate comes with a water and grease garnish that is just immaculate. The steak was good but had a bit more seasoned salt than needed. This terror entree will set you back $22. A two course meal for one in total cost $41.43 . | * disclaimer this is sarcasm it is not a Halloween themed restaurant. It was an awful restaurant and not worth it. A frozen michelina's pasta has more and better flavor.

I do not know her name, but I can tell you she works at the store in Huron South Dakota on the Night Shift. Rude followed by Obnoxious behavior on her end is to say the least, I called to order a pizza and She told me my card was declined, I had asked he to run it again and she said straight out NO we had run it once and it was DECLINED in a very stern order as to tell me to accept it. Well I had explained to her that my card was in very good order and had no issues and she called me out as a liar, So I went on line and ordered the Pizza with the card she insisted was in default. Although i had got the pizza there was no way to trust it enough to eat it as this was not the first time we had been though this. The first time was i had ordered a pizza to be delieverd to me by had and it was left on my doorstep. I called Caseys and asked them where it was and they said it was delivered. And it was on my doorstep with no notice that it had been delivered, By the time i had gotten to it the pizza had ants crawling all over it. I did not pick the delivery service so I have assumed it was Caseys choosing, It was. So i took the pizza back to them and explained the situation and the manager had given me a coupon for another pizza and bless her heart for that. but tonight upon ordering another pizza the women on the night shift again said my card was declined and she would not except the fact that the card was in good standing thus calling me a liar. So i went online and orded it again and it went through just fine with the same card she called me a liar on. I still Love Caseys pizza but there is no way im going to trust what she sent me to eat with this order and I really hope the main office in iowa sees this cause if not i will make a trip to Ankeny Iowa to visit my 2 Brothers and thier entire family within the next week or so. Oh and I have Family all over the country - Catholic w/siblings of 7 boys and 4 girls all over 50 and still kicking very hard. Hopefully with the 300 relative all much younger than i am will read this and tell their children in their 20s and 30s. Thank you for your time in this matter, Thomas K Shields 605-759-2455 Huron South Dakota. 57350

What's particularly good this time, is they have upped there game with a new chef. The food wasn't bad before but now it seems like the taste of the dishes have been upped another level. The time i've been here to grab some food I would give the dishes 5 stars each. I tried their hamburger of the week, that was so good; probably one of the best i've had. They had a bacon jam, two types of cheese with one of them deep fried like a biscuit. Of course the buns were soft. What a stellar burger. Their pizza was almost as tasty as their burger and maybe not to that of Dempsey's but nothing to be ashamed at and I wouldn't hestitate to order again. They a variety of beers the produce and i'm not a much of a beer person but any of their wheat drinks are good. This place I would say would be better in winter but is a fine place to come and hang out for food and conversation and sometimes they have someone playing music which is a nice added touch.
