This is easily one of my favorite spots, and I'll always keep coming back--even though I live in Brooklyn, it's 100% worth the trip just for the gelato! The service is always amazing. Today I had a vanilla & chocolate cup - no difference in the taste. My friend had dulce de leche & butter pecan - same issue; couldn't figure out which flavor was which. They all seem to have a similar "chemical taste." When they first opened, I used dream about their Dulce de leche- it was delicious - full of caramel. After dinner nearby, our friends raved about a local gelato spot. Initially, I'd thought I'd share a gelato with my partner - ohhh I was sooo wrong. Once inside, greeted by a friendly, smiling face behind the counter ready to help, and about 20 tantalizing flavors of artistically displayed artisan gelato, our mouths were watering. Several samples later, the four of us made our choices and devoured every bite. The small fits 1 flavor. For $1 more, the medium fits 2 flavors, and for $1 more, the large fits 3. I got the medium, and for flavors tried the halva pistachio and the espresso stracciatella flavors. Stracciatella has little strands of hard chocolate throughout. Both were truly delightful. My partner and our friends got a mix of chocolate brownie, an almond variation, tiramisu, Belgian chocolate, and kinder bueno. They also have a selection of sorbets, as well as waffle cones and an affogato (absolutely love a good affogato). Such a unique flavor selection. I got a small cup and they gave me two large scoops of two different flavors. I got Italian rainbow cookie on the bottom and Amalfi lemon crunch on the top. I love how they give you the little waffle wafer and the rainbow cookie when you get that flavor. This was definitely the best gelato I've ever had. The lemon was flavorful and creamy without being sour and the crunch added such an amazing element that elevated it. The Italian rainbow cookie was so good and satisfying. Absolutely FANTASTIC. I was not particularly fond of their gelato, especially the strawberry mango-flavored sorbet, as it didn't have the texture or sweetness I was looking for in a sorbet. Their full menu includes ice cream, sorbets, gelato shakes, and coffee, which we found to be rather on the expensive side. I walk into a gelato place with 36 flavors staring me down, daring me to make a decision. Naturally, my brain goes into a meltdown. How am I supposed to pick just one? Thankfully, the staff here are pros - super friendly and, most importantly, great at saving indecisive souls like me. I just nodded like an eager puppy and said, "Give me what you got." After trying out barely half the shop (we barely made a dent), my sister, the pistachio queen, locked onto the Sillvican Pistachio and Espresso Gelato. I, being the fruit fanatic, went for Guava Sorbet and Lemon Cream Gelato. We both went classy with waffle cones, and at $9, it was practically a steal. * Sillvican Pistachio Gelato Rich, creamy, and so nutty it might as well come with its own squirrel. My sister, who lives and breathes pistachio, declared this the best pistachio anything she's ever had. * Espresso Gelato This one's like that chill friend who doesn't need to be the life of the party but still brings something to the table. It was definitely giving off coffee vibes. My sister claimed it tasted like burnt milk tea, but she was sick so take that as you will. * Guava Sorbet Ah, my true love. I'm a sucker for fruity flavors, and this sorbet was the guava of my dreams. Tart, refreshing, and basically summer in a scoop. But hey, I'm biased - I'd probably enjoy a cardboard box if it was guava-flavored. * Lemon Cream Gelato This one had a split personality. Started off all lemony and innocent, then bam - Fruity Loops nostalgia hit us out of nowhere once we tasted the hard bits. My sister found it a bit too sweet, but I was cool with it. Will I get it again? Maybe not, but it's a solid option if you're feeling adventurous. For my gelato purists: you might side-eye this place because it feels more like ice cream pretending to be gelato. According to an Italian friend of a Reddit user, if it's not flat tubs of gelato, it's probably pumped full of air and hydrogenated oils to make it stand up. So yeah, this is more ice cream in disguise. If you're looking for the real deal, Figo might be your spot, and it's only an eight-minute walk away. But hey, Bianco tastes pretty darn good to me technicalities aside, and I'm not here to gatekeep deliciousness. All in all, this place is a winner. Big shoutout to Michelle C. for the recommendation. Welcome to Ditmars Blvd! We finally got to try this place last night and they didn't disappoint. There are so many options but I went with baklava while my best friends did combos of sorbet and the other had gelato too. You wouldn't think the small cup would fill you up but between the baklava on top and their signature waffle cookie, I was stuffed! Their gelato was nice and creamy! Mine tasted just like baklava. I even had a taste of my best friend's passion fruit and mango sorbet, it was delicious! We got there just in time because Just as we sat down and enjoyed our dessert, the place got packed! The line to order was literally outside the store. This is definitely a hit and I totally think it is so worth the $8. I will come back here with my parents for sure. Their dubai chocolate flavor will rock your world. 10/10 for me. Been obsessed with Dubai chocolate for a while, so coming across this in ice cream form really made my day. Can't comment much about the other flavors, but the Dubai chocolate had such an addicting crunch. It was quite sweet, but for some reason I couldn't stop taking another bite. The woman stuffed so much gelato into my tiny cup, and it turned into one hot mess, as the gelato began to soften. It was spilling all over the sides of my cup, and no amount of napkins could help it. So I had to throw out the entire cup, without finishing even half of it. I was walking down Ditmars Blvd. and taking in the sights, when this storefront caught my eye. When I checked the reviews and saw how glowingly others spoke of the gelato, I knew I had to give it a try. Trust me, it did not disappoint. This is an unbelievably good gelateria- it's a true hidden gem, and I wouldn't be surprised if it suddenly becomes ridiculously popular at some point and I'll be saying "I came here when it wasn't even that famous." It deserves some major hype. It is a really cute gelato place with some nice tables and a welcoming staff, and there's a very large selection of gelato flavors (there's even some sorbets and vegan gelato flavors available). I tried the pistachio halva and the baklava flavors, and WOW. They were out of this world, just delicious. They were not only tasty, but different from any other ice cream/gelato I've ever had. The halva flavor was delightfully nutty, with the strands of halva adding a wonderfully texture and chewiness. The baklava flavor was ridiculously good- if you like baklava, you will LOVE this! There were actual bits of baklava in there, and they were of excellent quality. The creaminess of the gelato actually complemented the sweetness of the baklava, so it didn't feel like an excessive combination at all. My friend got the coconut (vegan) gelato, and was thoroughly impressed with it as well. I don't live in Astoria, but I will be back here. If my picky, eastern European/anti-sweets dad loves this place, you will too. This place truly redefines dessert and lives up to grade-A standards. We come from Westchester county and the Bronx to have their gelatos all the time at the Astoria location. The quality control, and their consistency, is impeccable. Staff at the counter is always patient and helpful with letting us decide between flavors, the place is CLEAN, and the gelatos are so good that you will feel like you did yourself a favor to your mental health after having it. They're open late; they also serve coffee; cozy and warm inside in the winters, and great outdoor dining in the summers. The gelato texture is smooth, just enough sweetness without overload, and the flavors are all accurate. The mint and the pistachio are my dad's personal favorite; he very rarely ever has sweets, and it's hard for him to enjoy any dessert in general, but this is the only dessert that makes him actually feel good and happy. It was his birthday this week, and I emailed their team earlier this month about a special request for him since he's a loyal. I had requested his favorite flavors to be pre packed for take-home, in a bigger serving size and with specifics on how he likes the flavors to be plain/solid mint and pistachio; Riki was so quick and communicative all the way through, and had the mint and pistachio made fresh exactly as requested. It meant so much to us, and he is having it for dessert every time he finishes dinner now at home, even in this cold cold season.
