There's also a small sitting / waiting area up front that's very cozy & welcoming with additional seating out front for nicer weather / smoking I presume. No bad sight or sound anywhere in this main showroom so that's a plus. Seats about 30 to 40 if I had to guess. It's also run by Comedians so it's pretty much the best vibes you can get for a comedy club. Highly recommended for a fun night out!

I've never been to a comedy club, let alone a smaller, more intimate club like this one. So, I was a little nervous! I didn't know if I could fake a laugh if none of the comedians forced a genuine one, but luckily that wasn't an issue. The lineup of comedians here were great! It was so fun to see everyone's different styles, yet they were all so funny. One comedian in particular had me and my friends crying with laughter. Plus, the guy who runs the comedy club is funny and very friendly and hospitable. Bushwick is lucky to have such a cool spot in its neighborhood. Check it out if you're in the area!

Nice spot for smaller crowds (think 30-60 people), if you want something different from the usual Manhattan haunts.

One thing I appreciated before I even walked in was the free parking lot behind the theater. That's such a rare perk these days and made getting there so much easier. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every employee I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. An usher personally walked me to my seat, and later, when I got up to throw something away, another usher kindly took the trash from me before I even reached the garbage can. It may seem like a small gesture, but it's those little touches that make a place stand out. The bathrooms were clean, there were plenty of staff members available whenever anyone needed assistance, and even guests who arrived well after the show started were escorted to their seats by ushers using flashlights. I also had a great experience at the merchandise stand. The cashier accidentally rang up two items when I only wanted one, but the mistake was corrected immediately. Instead of making me wait through a lengthy refund process, they refunded the difference in cash on the spot, which I really appreciated. Since it was a phone-free concert, I left a few minutes early to avoid the crowd retrieving their phones, and getting out was quick and easy. If you're attending a phone-free event, I'd recommend arriving a little early and leaving a few minutes before the end if you want to avoid the rush. After interacting with at least five or six different staff members throughout the evening, I couldn't help but notice how consistently well-trained and professional everyone was. It's clear this venue is run extremely well. Beautiful theater, excellent staff, and a great overall experience. I'll definitely be back.

The small venue was packed with a high-energy crowd, great music, and sketch comedy that had real heart and bite. The cast (Danvers Onions!) served up a Saturday Night Live vibe with a Beetlejuice twist--absurd, sharp, and super entertaining. One line from the show really stuck with me: "Onions don't cry." And in my view, they laugh with tears of joy. Accessible location, food options all around, and a bar that opens before showtime. This…read moreparticular open mic is a favorite of mine as it is actually where I got my start in the local open mic scene, back in fall of 2022. Located in the basement stage room of Bar Freda, this open mic breaks the mold with their epic lighting, phenomenal sound system, very talented sound guy & engaging hosts. Every Monday, from 8pm about midnight, you can enjoy free performances by incredibly talented musicians and poets from all over the world. Some are local New Yorkers, some are transplants, and others are visitors. Tonight there was a wonderful poet from London, a super talented guitarist and singer from LA, and everything in between. Everyone was phenomenal! The creators, I am Adam-Meagan (aka Not Holden Caulfield) and Colleen (aka Sunbeam Colleen), have really created something very special here. This is such a welcoming open mic with an incredibly receptive and supportive crowd. If someone forgets their lyrics or stumbles in a performance, the audience immediately begins cheering their on, which 99% helps get the performer's moral backup and gets them back into their flow state. If you ever want to experience some phenomenal local arts or even perform yourself, you definitely have to check them out!
