We were first notified of the paint insure 12-27 with-it a few days had approval from the manufacturer home office for a new frame or paint credit. The only reason it took a few day it was the holidays and Puerto Rico suffered a hurricane, Mr. R said he was without Electricity. Its true Mr. ENRIQUE RODRIGUEZ in Puerto Rico purchased a frameset from us early 2016 Thank you. It's also true late 12 -27 2018 more than a year after the Manufactures paint warranty expired I contracted the good People at ritchey for Him. After providing a few Photos and couple emails Ritchey made offer to replace the frame at no cost other than shipping, or Option 2: Ritchey authorized Cash payment so he could get the frame painted locally which Mr. Rodriguez took payment. Mr. R on 3-26 shared a photo of the new paint and I quote " I appreciate what you did". I seen the photo and agree it looked nice in the photo. Now moving up to May 2022, Mr. R must love his Ritchey Ride and reached out to me and another dealer wanting to buy the new 50th Anniversary frameset due in anyday . Again Mr. Rodriguez Mentioned in a emailed his previous paint issues was not our faught and wanted to work with us and wanted us to hold one to ship after they arrive. Couple days later Mr. R emailed he could get one from two other sources for $50-$100 shipped Off shore to Puerto Rico. I told him you should go for it you have no obligation to purchase from us . We also noticed He wrote a bad review on another shop on Thursday about the same frame when that did not work out on Friday turn on us . In closing: Anyone: Feel free to contract Ritchey home office and ask about us, you will find not too long ago we got the Ritchey # 1 dealer in the world award, it was sign by Tom himself and you will be told we take very good care of our customer's . The previous issue with the paint defect was resolved successfully and went over and above normal procedure, despite being well outside of the manufacturers warranty period. A cash payout was made on behalf of Ritchey to solve the case. Mr. Rodrigues has always said we were not at fault on the Paint insure It made us feel Good 3-26-2018 with the reply below Again, " thanks for what you did....I understand it was not your call! Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. I live in the middle of a National forest at least an hour from any local bike store. To get the latest and greatest in bike products, the internet is a necessity for me. While this can sometimes be a crapshoot, I can state, without reservation, that the best site I found for my needs was Bicycledoctorusa.com. I bought a Ritchey SwissCross a couple of years ago from Steve Dodds the owner, but not before he went through every detail about the build, the price, and how long it would take to get it to me. For the time he spent with me, I almost felt guilty at getting this top-end bike, specced exactly how I wanted it, at such an amazing price. Steve's son, Eric, is a master tech and put the bike together then packed it so well that it took me less than an hour from unpacking to riding. Since then, I have contacted Steve on multiple ocassions for prices on parts, wheels and with questions about bikes. He ALWAYS gets back to me with 24 hours, if not sooner. Most recently, I wanted to get a Ritchey mountain bike. No shop stocks them within hundreds of miles but after contacting Steve and having him walk me through the pros and cons of 29ers 650bs, full suspension and others I decided on a Ritchey Timberwolf. Better yet, Steve (as apparently the #1 dealer for Ritchey in the USA), was able to find me a demo Wolf at an absolute steal. Everything was done by the book, exact prices, including shipping were explained with no hidden bs that you get from some online shops. Unfortunately we had a problem with shipping my bike which was totally UPS's fault. They put my bike on the wrong train from Chicago and bike the time it reached Steve it was ruined. Thoughtfully, Steve sent it back and went to work immediately to get me a replacement. Jeff at Ritchey, an equally cool guy, accepted the loss and sent out a replacement immediately. Good things come from bad and I now have an even better, newer demo that you really can't tell isn't new. Steve even ate the extra shipping, which was not insubstantial for a 30 pound bike and box. If this review is long, it's because I am totally sold on Steve and Eric Dodds and Bicycledoctorusa.com. They are my local bike shop even though they are hundreds of miles away. Forget the big discount retailers, these guys are tops and can get you whatever cycling products you need. I found the shop online and sent an email inquiry. I received a prompt response from Steve and he took the time to answer a lot of questions via email and we spoke on the phone as well. He was gracious, knowledgeable and professional throughout the purchase. I was able to get a 2018 Fuji Jari, which I was having trouble locating elsewhere. I received excellent customer service and feel like the purchase was a great value. Steve and Erik helped fix an issue with the derailleur hanger. They did not create the issue, but did their best to fix the situation ASAP. They even went so far as to pull a hanger off a new in stock bike so I could get out on the new bike as quickly as possible. That kind of service is all to rare these days. Steve who owns the Bicycle Doctor is a professional and he is a nice guy and very enjoyable I've never had a problem that he couldn't fix or had not done properly. I've been using his business for 10 years and I will continue using it.
