One of the worst customer service I have ever seen in a bike store. The managers Jesse and Chase Smith are arrogant and rude. I needed warranty service on the battery for a Trek electric bike which I had (unfortunately) bought from this store 18 months ago. The bike itself was in good condition, and I can ride the bike without the battery. But Jesse insisted on keeping the bike also in the store for an unknown amount of time, even though I told him I live just 15 minutes from the store and could bring the bike anytime if he needed it to do any tests together. His answer was that I can take my work to some other store which I ended up doing. I work on electrical items and I know that they can fix the problem / replace the battery without my bike sitting around in the store. Total rudeness. read more

The shop won't ship the parts or return messages. Complete sham. Avoid this place if you can help it. Plenty of reputable shops around. read more

I'll preface my review by saying I've purchased 3 or 4 new bikes from The Bicycle Station throughout the years, when I was 12 and wanted the coolest mountain bike on the block, or the BMX bike to do some sweet pegstands. So when I was recently looking for an urban commuter that felt comfortable like the road bike I was used to I initially turned to my hometown bike shop. Every time I've been in there the owner has been there to help make sure you're geting the bike that you need. He's not trying to sell you a full suspension 29er to cruise around Columbus on. I can remember 2 or 3 times he's helped me pick out a bike that suited my needs but wasn't over the top in terms of components and more importantly price. I strolled in one day recently just to check out their inventory compared to some other bike shops in Indy and was greeted by a fella named Dennis who was more than helpful answering my questions. I know enough about bikes to be annoying to a bike shop employee, but he was never condescending when I was wrong or wasn't quite sure what I was talking about, and was more than willing to pull down any bike I thought I'd want to check out. Towards the end he pulled down a Trek Crossrip which happened to fit me like a glove. I rode it and really enjoyed it, but wasn't sure if it was really wanted. I walked out not really sure if the bike I loved was for me, but after (not) sleeping on it I woke up at 9:45am to go pick it up and a few other accessories which came with a nice discount with the purchase of a bike. I know Indianapolis has its fair share of awesome bike shops, but I always enjoy coming home to Columbus, getting a tune up, or new bike and riding he barren country roads. Especially out by Simmons Winery. Edit: Forgot to mention that the lent me a helmet as I had left mine in Indianapolis, not really expecting to walk out with a bike.. read more

A chill small family owned bicycle repair and sales (mostly Trek) shop in the heart of Columbus Indiana. I like the fact that I can get my bike serviced, then conveniently walk throughout downtown while I wait. BONUS: Have your bike serviced on Saturday during the farmers market, and an hour melts like a minute. read more

This is a great little bike shop. The owners and employees are genuine bike people. I often see them out on the mountain bike trails in nearby Brown County. I've bought many parts from them, and they are extremely helpful. One great experience that you won't get at the big chain stores. I got an older Gary Fisher 24" bike for my daughter, and the cranks were bent. Parts aren't easy to get for kids bikes, and they aren't very compatible with regular 26" bike parts. I called down there to see if they could order a crankset, and I think it was Matt who said he thought he had one in his parts bin that would work. He said "How about 10 bucks?" I jumped in my car, and headed down, and sure enough, it was just what I needed. You just don't get this kind of service at big stores. How many of those stores have bins of used, or NOS parts in the back they can pull from? In fact, I'm working on getting another kids bike back on the road (or trail, in this case) and I'll be calling them here in a bit. read more

This is a family owned and operated shop that can compete with the selection and prices of online retailers, unlike the "other place" in town. I have had the pleasure of getting to know the owners and employees very well over the years and I can't imagine shopping anywhere else unless, of course, they can't special order a certain brand I am looking for. The service department is top-notch. The jam-packed service area is a testament to the fact that they do the best job in town. They are quick and they do it right the first time. read more
