I was set to buy a car from BidCars that appeared to be in excellent condition. I asked to have a local mechanic take a look and the sales manager said he didn't think it was necessary given that it was under 30,000 miles but he agreed to an inspection. The independent mechanic found that it needed new brake pads and that the rotors were rusted out. I asked if the sales manager if they would agree to have the independent mechanic repair it. They requested an estimate and when they received it, they offered instead to take care of the repair themselves. I was concerned that it would be done by their same mechanics who inspected and put it on the market in the first place. Their owner sent me an angry email that said I had "trust issues" (well, yes, wouldn't you?) I suspect they will now sell it "as is" to the first buyer who doesn't bother getting a pre-sales inspection done. If you are even thinking of buying from this dealership, I can only recommend making the investment in an independent inspection. It was money well spent (and saved). read more

Bought a new truck from them and not even a week into owing it there is a significant oil leak and the oil is overfilled by double of what it's supposed to be max, we have visited the mechanic they recommended 3 times now and it's still leaking. Very disappointed in how this whole situation is playing out now we're stuck with a truck that leaks oil. read more

Quintessential Sleazy Car Salesman. Went there to test drive an Infinity. Wanted to purchase, the second we would not finance through them, tone changed. Not sure how BidCars Boston has so many positive reviews! DO NOT TRUST BidCars Boston. I wish I could say my vehicle purchase from BidCars Boston has been a positive experience, but unfortunately, it's been quite the opposite. Since buying the car, I've had to spend over $6,000 on repairs. One of the most frustrating issues has been the sunroof, which I had to ask the dealership to repair, and which the dealership claimed was repaired. When I took it to a certified BMW repair shop because it still did not appear to be working properly, the technician confirmed it was incorrectly repaired and actually made worse. He noted that the person who performed the work did not appear to know what they were doing, which is extremely concerning. Additionally, I was told the rear rooftop didn't open, but it actually does--it's just broken. More recently, my built-in GPS stopped working, and a wire from the GPS system was visibly coming apart, adding to the list of issues. The repair shop also pointed out that several isues should never have passed inspection, raising serious concerns about the standards and qualifications of the dealership's chosen repair service. Given all this, I cannot recommend BidCars Boston. It's been a difficult year with this vehicle, and I hope the dealership takes this feedback seriously. read more

I wish I read these reviews BEFORE a bought from them. They have a garage down the street that does nothing but repair the cars they sell. I would have to agree with another poster about how they sell cars they know will need work, but only if you spot it during the warrantee period. The day after I bought it, I experienced a loud clunk in my transmission. I diagnosed it by reading a fb owners group. I had it for 17 days, experiencing the same issue daily. They finally had an appt for me and they had it for 18 days. because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They sent it to a dealer to correct a recall and THEY found the transmission problem. It was decided to have John Madden Ford replace the tranny, but not with a new one. I never heard of mechanics using used parts, let alone dealers! As it turned out the dealer did the tranny job, too. When I picked it up, they said that they would detail it and it would be ready. As I drove away, I noticed the back window was dirty. When I stopped I found that it was a fine mist of tranny fluid all over the liftgate(L to R, Top to Bottom). I called and told the mechanic what was wrong and he told me that it must have been overspray of Armour-All from the detailer. I told him to fire the detailer bc I knew what tranny fluid smelled like. The next day, I took it to my own mechanic and they showed me where many things were never tightened and a bolt was missing on the bell housing and tranny fluid all over everything. There was also an anti-freeze leak. I drove it back and they had it for another week. They told me that they had found nothing wrong with the tranny, but did fix the anti-freeze leak. I brought it back to my mechanic and they found that the tranny was now cleaned up, the loose things tightened and the bolt had magically re-appeared. On both of these trips to their own mechanic, the detailed repair sheet showed the same mileage in and out(red flag). They had told me that while the mechanic had it, the 60 day warranty was "on hold". Later they told me that I only qualified for a 30 day warranty and anything else(like the paper I had that said it had a 60 day) was a misprint(even though it was written in pen). They also squirmed out of adding the missing parts to the "Hands Free Liftgate". It was listed on the window sticker AND the build sheet, but "they said that the dealer said" that's what the called the Key Fob button(that you use your hand on). THAT was their "proof"! I asked the salesman about how it worked before I bought it and he said "you'll have to read the Owner's Manual". It's all about vague statements and making you believe you are getting something that you'll never get. Read the other reviews and notice the dates. This has been going on for a while. STAY AWAY... If I could give less than a 1 star I would. First off, the communication was absolutely awful. It took 2 weeks after handing the dealership money to actually receive my car. Within those 2 weeks, I called and left voicemails about 15 times and never once got an answer or a call back. When I went to finally pick up the car, there were new scratches and scrapes, the car was not washed and had less than half a tank of gas (the contract included a detailed car and full tank of gas). Just over a month after buying the car, the engine completely blew up. This was an expense over $20,000. The Audi dealership that had to fix my car stated that there was reason to believe this dealership knew that there were problems with the car when making the sale. There was absolutely no reason for a 2018 Audi with less than 90,000 miles to have such a catastrophic failure. Not to mention the almost $6,000 in hidden fees, this dealership has cost me tens of thousands of dollars in repairs before I could hardly put 1,000 miles on my new car. The dealership also would not let up on selling me an extended warranty with a $100 deductible. When it came time for this warranty company to pay for the engine and labor fees, they hardly covered any costs and took nearly 3 months for the company to take any initiative in getting my car fixed. So unless you want to buy a lemon and get totally screwed over by these scam artists, do not buy from here! read more

Bought a car online from these guys, a used electric, with the plan of getting it just before Christmas. When prepping to ship a transmission error popped up on it and they sent it in to get it looked at. Sucks, but I understand. Things happen and they were sorting it out. It delayed the car but I was willing to accept the lost time. Fast forward a bit and the car is "fixed" and they are delivering it to me. I took delivery in my driveway, got in the car to park it, and the error was on the dash, a transmission error. They delivered it like that and didn't notice somehow. Now I am frustrated. I take it to a local dealer to get it fixed under warranty, and they eventually fix it, well in to January at this point. Since the first payment is at the end of January, I asked that they cover the first payment since my wife has barely been able to use it this entire billing cycle. Best they can do? 100 bucks. Lets just say I am not suggesting this place to friends and family, and I don't suggest you do either. read more

This place epitomizes all the horrible things you hear about used car dealers. We went in one Saturday to look at a Jeep for my son. They told us the title wasn't in yet so we could only drive it around their lot. I knew that moment something was up. In addition, also because of the title, they wouldn't let us put money down to hold it. Another red flag. We go home and I sent an e-mail to the salesman asking about the missing antenna mast, the worn tires which looked like they might not make it to Winter, and what is their warranty. No response, period. I call him a week later to let him know I'm waiting for a reply to my email... Oh we're so busy bla bla bla. So 2 weeks go by and they finally tell my son the title is in. My wife and I go there with our son and we take a test drive. Jeep needs tires, is still missing it's antenna mast, has screws missing in the overhead speaker bar, etc. At one point I walked to MY car to get some water (it was a hot June day) and one of their sales guys was leaning on it. He said "Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize I was leaning on YOUR car". I had to bite my tongue to keep from snapping "You shouldn't lean on ANYONE'S car" but I kept my mouth shut. Not 15 minutes later I walked over to see another vehicle and he was again leaning on my car. I told the manager to instruct his people to not lean on other people's cars... He just looked at me. Now we go into the office, which is a skeezy trailer as they're just finishing renovations to their building, and with the general manager and the finanace manager present the sales guy says "The price has gone up $1,000 this week, sorry". I almost blew a gasket. When I voiced my opposition to raising the price when they knew the whole time we were waiting for them to get the title (which was obviously a crock of $hit) the manager said "Well, there are 45 other people lined up waiting for this one" and I said "Wow, nice." The finance manager said "Well we apprecaite you taking the time to come in, good luck with your shopping." I went to BidCars last week to test drive at a 2017 Ram ProMaster 136. I took it for a ride and drove good but the AC was blowing warm air. I was ready to buy this vehicle but I wanted the AC working. The sales person Chris Leitao told me the AC does not get cold when the AC is below 50 degrees. He said it was in for service at Central Chrysler and just had been serviced there and he would get it back there tomorrow to get the AC checked-out. I told him great when the AC is working I will be back to purchase it. I called over to Central Chrysler the next day and asked the service manager if on the 2017 ProMAster does the AC not work when the weather is below 50 degrees. They said "No", the AC will blow cold air all the time. I thought Mr. Leitao was feeding me a little BS. I called over to speak to Chris and left a VM and he never returned my call. I called today to bidcars today to see if the AC was fixed and Neil told me the van was sold 10 minutes ago. I guess the person they sold it to does need AC in the summer. I would be very careful buying anything from this dealership. read more

Sales folks are friendly, even though I could not find a suitable car. First 2020 BMW had noticeable dings on front hood and whirling sound high pitch at over 40 mph and lower pitch at lower speed. Second 2018 Porsche had noticeable wobble on steering above 40 mph. Cars may need more servicing pre-sale, otherwise customers may return when issues surface. read more

The process and vehicle so far seem smooth. Derrek was awesome to deal with and has great conversation. My only issue with the interaction was the forcefulness and relentless nagging to leave a review. Before I picked up the vehicle and the papers were all signed, I was pressured to fill out a paper review. I did that, they also wanted me to leave a google review. I had not even received the vehicle yet. Then I went to pick it up, once again pressured to leave a review. Keep in mind the process is not complete yet as I've not driven the vehicle outside of the test drive and they still had to take care of the registration process. During the next few days I continued to get texts pressuring me to leave a review. Finally I get the plates, that day, I'm texted to leave a review. Keep in mind I still need to get the vehicle inspected. I ignored that, the following morning, an email, once again pressuring for my review. Well, here it is now. At this point I still have no idea if the vehicle will pass state inspection but just to get them to stop harassing me to leave a review, I'm here now leaving a review. My review would have been much higher, had they left me to leave it on my own terms but after relentless pressure, I will leave a premature review. Keep in mind when reading any review here on this dealership that many of the reviews are placed before the vehicle is delivered and I will assume almost all are put in before the migration to the new vehicle is 100% complete. The people seems nice, the vehicles for the most part seem nice but if you do not leave a review immediately, you will be hounded for it by every contact method you've supplied them with. Please make sure you read review on other sites. This dealership has many bad BBB reviews and also is not a good place. Since calling them about the vehicle having issues they've completely ignored all calls, texts and other means of me reaching out. The vehicle is not safe for the road and they're not helping at all. First time it's rained out since I bought the vehicle. Half the ceiling is wet and most of the interior is wet. Looks like the sunroof leaks badly. When you hit a bad pothole the check engine light comes on and you must pull over, shut the vehicle off and then restart it or every light on the dash is lit up and the vehicle is in limp mode. No maintenance was done on the vehicle either. Spark plugs should have been changed 6,000 miles ago, fuel filter was 7 years old and the air filter box had no screws in it so the engine had been sucking up any debris that was airborne. One of the headlights has a seal issue, rather than replacing the headlight, they just drilled a hole in it. Now moisture will get in whenever you drive in the rain, blowing the headlights on that side. read more

So we went there to get a suv we got a 2016 Kia Sorrento sx limited we had wrote down everything wrong with it that day we took it for a ride they had a wk go fix it they did not fix anything on the car then they wanted my wife to bring it in but they did not have a longer car for her so we had to wait 3 wks to get that I've called them many times an then told John would call me back that never happened ones my car still makes a noise in the front an I had to buy new wipers for it to pass inspection I don't think they care about there customers just the money that is sad to they will not stand by what they say an John if ur reading this u should get a new job because u don't call people back even when they say u will he don't so for right know I will not send anybody there for the reasons 1..I was told my car was all set when they did nothing to it 2..I had to keep calling so they would fix things an they fixed one out of the list 3..my wife feels like they don't care about there customers an what they are doing to us 4..we had to got things fixed that where on the list when we should not have had to 5.....it looks like I'm going to have to fix the rest of the problems too an eat the cost of the wipers too ......... Had an appointment to purchase a vehicle at 11:30am. Was called at 9:21am and told to call ASAP. I called at 9:34am and was told the vehicle was being sold. Seriously? I couldn't get to the dealership until 11:30am due to childcare for my special needs child. I can understand if I said I couldn't make it until Monday but 2 hours? I was then offered an "equivalent" vehicle with 20,000 more miles and $2,000 more. Extremely disappointed. Once again, I run into a used car salesman who's high horse sits a little higher than anyone else's! For starters, I called the guy who had been emailing with me, gave my name and the car, he says "I speak to 2K people a day, your gonna have to gimme a little more info" ya ok buddy I'm sure you do! Called and inquired about a car and asked if there was any negotiation on the price. The response I get is "we spend 50K a year on advertising, it would be stupid to negotiate another price wouldn't it?" I hung up the phone and once again will keep my 2K down payment. Alright let's start this off. This auto dealer fraudulently misrepresents their vehicles. Purchased a vehicle from them Audi Q7 from day one to present they are not helpful and absolutely do not stand behind their vehicles. Day of pick up vehicle had no paint touched up or rims repaired even tho I was told it would be perfect. I was ok with it bc I thought they'd stand behind the vehicle mechanically they absolutely did not do that either. Vehicle has had the same issues since day one of purchase and went to their service center 7 times in total for them to call me a liar and to be purposely difficult. I then took the vehicle to Audi to confirm all my concerns and the dealer told Audi they'd buy the car back from me and yet when confronted they still refused. I ended up having to sort all the safety issues in my own and now refuse to reimburse. These people should not be in business, their techs at their service center are utterly useless as well. To sum it up I knowingly paid a little more for a car bc I knew someone there and was ran through the ringer with my own time and energy. I highly advise no one to purchase a vehicle from these people. I have no other choice but to pursue litigation against mere pond scum to recoup financial loss. read more

My last car purchase was a miserable experience but this one was a delight because Tom Morales, Finance Manager, worked collaboratively with me to make this happen. He conceded where he could and simply let me know when things weren't possible. He laid out options around warranty and financing but didn't push hard when I declined. Before the test drive Damon said hold on let me go out some gas in the car, came back and said I actually can't find the company card do you have 5$ to put in the tank. So we recently purchased a car from here and of course after waiting a week after the original promised day for the vechile. We bring it home to realized the car is leaking when it rains along with certain buttons not working. Thankfully we have warranty now I know I thing or two from Dealing with a similar situation from purchasing our Chevy (different dealer) Now when I call and question the issues the so called "manager" was extremely rude!! Couldn't understand my aggravation that I now have to drive over a hour to go back and bring the car for repairs and then have to drive back to pick up the car once fixed. The car was bought at auction as a salvage car but the CarFax was not up to date to show the that the car had structural damage.
