    Menu in the grotto

Went into Bierport on Saturday afternoon on a walk while I explored Lawrenceville. The selection upstairs was solid with some locals as well as foreign and limited brews like Russian River sours and some heavy pastry stouts... Basement beer grotto looked great but bartender was seemingly uninterested in being friendly or helpful. I almost felt like my sample was an inconvenience for him to pour, but maybe he was having a bad day. Pros - Variety and cool basement beer grotto Cons - A little pricier than other options nearby

My most recent unique mix of ciders to try (Fall, 2022)

This is such a unique shop for beer and cider. As a cider fan, I have found that they have such unique and somewhat unusual selections here. They bring in a lot of different domestic ciders from other states, as well as some local offerings, and even have a few international selections. It is fun shopping here and to create a mix of new and different selections to try.

This place blows my mind with their selection of beer, the number of events they have going on throughout the week, and the friendliness of the staff! There is an upstairs and downstairs of walls of different types of craft beer. Flavors for every person's taste, seasonal types, and unique brands. I could spend hours here, looking at all the different labels and types and still find something new. The employees are more than willing to help you find what you're looking for and provide their personal favorite. Even if you don't know much about craft beer, they don't make you feel stupid and help you learn more about what flavors are in each beer type. The 6 pack containers are 10% off and a great gift idea. The coolest part or this place is the movie theater attached next door and the events they host. Down stairs are tables and taps for relaxing and events. Also a Sega game system to have some fun playing old school games. Friday and Saturday nights they have fun events going on, to come and enjoy time with friends. I will definitely be coming back here to experience the activities and events!

We've been here a couple times and it's a fun spot. We head downstairs to hang out at the bar. It's dog friendly and have board games, if that is your choosing. There are a few tables, it doesn't hold many, but a good vibe. We take a spot at the bar and the bartenders are very helpful, quality service. There are specials even on the weekends, which isn't typical especially for the neighborhood. The selection provides good craft options and the menu denotes if it's local, PA brewed, etc. Definitely recommend if you're waiting for a table nearby or want a bar where you can have a conversation.

Be sure to attend the beer pairing events! Kyle is a great bartender with really good service and knowledgeable about the beers.

I came here because this store was part of the Lawrenceville Cookie Tour and what a cool spot! Chances are if you can't find a speciality beer or cider elsewhere in Pittsburgh, you can find it here! Grab a cardboard container and pick away! Yes, beer by the bottle and can. If you venture downstairs, you can try some beers on tap and try more from the cooler. Cool place with a cool vibe. I'm kicking myself now but there was a board with daily specials, and I didn't take a pic. Mainly because a couple looked to be on a date and it was smack dab in the middle of them. So maybe next time? Because I promise you, there will be a next time.

Awesome variety of beers! Have a large selection of local beers too, which is great! Small bar downstairs with some booths and high top tables to sit at. Can either order a beer on tap or they can chill anything off the wall for you. Oh, and there's Sega Genesis to play! The 90s baby in me loves Sonic the Hedgehog!

This place is great for those who love beer (obviously), like beer, have no feelings toward beer, or have some time to kill. This place is for everyone, really. They have such a great selection that even if you aren't really into beer, there is probably something there for you (just ask!). I'm not really a beer person and when I drink beer, I usually prefer fruity beers, so I chose a strawberry flavored one (although there were so many other fruity and non-fruity ones I wanted to try!). I really enjoyed it, especially while watching a film at Row House Cinema (connected to it). They will chill your beer for you in just a few minutes, which is awesome if you are bringing it with you to the theater or want to drink it right away.

Gf blonde ale brewed in Pittsburgh!!!

I never could understand why people eat outside in downtown places where cars drive by them 5 feet away. The beers were OK, nothing really special but OK. They have a little bar outside so getting a refill was quick and easy. The don't serve any kind of hard spirits. My wife isn't a beer drinker so one of the bartenders at the inside bar mixed her up a drink with seltzer and something else(tea) which she found to be quite tasty, so i tipped her generously for having the ambition to please a customer. Where they fell down IMO was their pizza. It just wasn't very good. We had several versions of their Sicilian to choose from. The cheese was generous, but the crust was doughy and heavy, the sauce was flavorless, and the toppings were very stingy. A big piece of Sicilian pizza with 3 slices of pepperoni is not good. I checked out their menu and was stunned at the prices they are getting for those pizzas. WAY overpriced. Of course i didn't have to pay for them since it was a party, but knowing what their pizza is like i would never go back there and pay those prices. The wings were just OK, pretty mediocre. Parking is a joke. No where near enough spots for the size of the place. Overall it was just OK, i would not return. There are better places for the same or less money.

BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports. Very high Pittsburgh atmosphere going on I will be back so many times and absolutely worth going Downtown for

I went with the recommendation of the wings and got the Cajun seasoning. They were so good that I regretted asking for blue cheese for dipping. Then I added a side of Brussels sprouts and no hyperbole; these were the best I've ever had! I practically licked the bowl after.

Love the atmosphere, nice staff and seating very comfortable. Would def come back! I especially love drink that comes with kimchi and chips, I forget the name but it was amazing (see photo) - I got refill on kimchi so happy it was allowed as that's my only complaint - not enough kimchi & chips to accompany the drink.

The cocktails were creative, playful, and impressively strong without sacrificing quality. I had the Seoular Flare, which had a noticeable kick but was still very drinkable. It came with BBQ chips, and when our bartender--the same guy from that morning--noticed how much I loved them, he brought me extra. Such a thoughtful touch. The rest of our drinks were equally inventive and well-crafted. I admittedly had some doubts about whether the creativity would translate into cocktails that actually tasted good, but they completely proved me wrong. A fun concept backed by genuinely great drinks and hospitality.
